  1. Thanks JP...! As for comparisons it is certainly a more throaty, deeper, burble at idle out back - as a couple of my car-loving colleagues pointed out today. Hell, they could feel the vibrations when touching the building wall behind me ? And pootling along at 20-30mph, I can definitely hear a deeper sound; albeit I don't think it's actually louder. However, at motorway speeds, I actually find it quieter than the old Mongoose - I reckon I need to take the Zed on another holiday to determine for sure!!
  2. I reckon Julia and me will be attending Beaulieu again this year..... ....We'll be staying somewhere local, so will meet everyone at Tesco, just like the old days.... It sure is nice to have shows like this to enjoy once again ?
  3. Cheers Graham - and yes, Jim misses you too mate ?
  4. I did wonder, Andy.... .....That, and the R35-lookalike
  5. So on Saturday, I headed west to Infinity Exhausts - next door to Jimmer - to have a nice new exhaust built and fitted.... ........It looks just like the BB system from America, so the tails fill the apertures in the rear bumper very nicely. I didn't go for an X- or H-pipe link, keeping each side separate, just like my old Mongoose. Mindful that I didn't want it too loud, the guys at Infinity added a small silencer each side, just after the cats.... So it makes a nice burble right out back at idle, yet still remains relatively quiet at motorway speeds. Plus I asked for the tails not to protrude past the rear bumper, like my old system did.... And they got everything just right!! Needless to say, I am extremely happy with the result ? Plus I popped in for a chat, a cup of tea and a sandwich with Sir Jimmer too!!!
  6. Hi and welcome to the club Charles..... ......And nice car you have there - good luck with Audrey!!!
  7. Glad your new business is going well Steve - and hope to see you at Beaulieu ?
  8. LOL - and nice BMW, you got given there Tom ?
  9. Having a UK-spec Zed, I replaced my blank corner units with a modified set (thanks Andy ? ) in which I installed some powerful LEDs...... ...Any excuse to post some Zed pics ?
  10. Hi mate, I thought along the same lines as you - and even asked the very same question a few years back..... ...But in the end, I went for the simple DRL control relay, connected to the battery. It took me much less time to install and it works perfectly - a solution also recommended to me by JeffTT at the time. The kits are pennies on Ebay, they will save you a lot of unnecessary messing around with 30 year old electrics (which may reveal other latent issues) and you can add an inline switch to the live feed if you want to shut them off for any reason. Keep It Simple ?

  20. Looks like a good one Rob.... I will check whether I'm back from hols, but if so, then I would be interested in attending. It's not too far from me, so why not!
  21. Many happy returns Ian - have a great day mate! Richard?
  22. They said about 2 to 2.5 hours, so that's good to know.... I'm not going for the X-pipe though, basically I'm just having my Mongoose copied - same 2.5 tubing as you - and I'll reveal my choice of tails once done ?
  23. I know what you mean Graham - I still have that V8 itch to scratch........ ? .....But I still ended up with another turbo'd 6 as a daily driver. When will I learn - I love my Z4, but still wonder if I should have bitten the bullet and gone F-type R or AMG GT!!!
  24. Nice one mate...! I'm off to Infinity on the 25th - I'll share the pics once done ?
