  1. Very smart mate......... ........how do you post them out keeping them safe from breakages etc? Richard:cool3:
  2. I quite like the old skool fast fords now as well. I must admit I thought they were a bit naff in the late '80s/early '90s but now the chavved up rubbish has all been trashed and (generally) only the good survive, I've a soft spot for the Capri, Escort MkI & II (particularly MkII RS2000), and Cortina MkI, II & III. I recall TV programmes like The Sweeny and The Professionals with fond memories; and then Life on Mars brought it all back..... Richard:laugh::thumbup1:
  3. Welcome to the club mate! I know Plaistow too - I'm originally from Leyton but left "the smoke" for the delights of rural Buckinghamshire back in the '90s..... .....My folks are still in E10 though and I paid them a rare visit this weekend just gone! Good luck in your search, Richard:rockon:
  4. LOL - maybe mate!! The company I work for installs platform lifts; mainly for disabled access in public buildings, shops, schools etc. We also do the odd home lift as well but they're not cheap....... ....well they are cheap compared to a full blown conventional hydraulic type lift; but it can still be around £14k for around 2-2.5m travel:tongue_smilie: Richard:balloon::biggrin:
  5. Nice one mate - another MOT pass is always good to hear!! Richard:thumbup1:
  6. And who'd have thought it.....? Back in the late 1980s they were laughed at! Whose having the last laugh now though.........:surrender: Richard:euro:
  7. LOL. Whilst I thought the idea was good in principal I didn't sign either - and never do with online petitions - for the same reason:innocent: But well done to those who have - I hope your voices are heard!! Richard:online2long:
  8. LOL - very true mate!! I would not pay £65k for an old Ford no matter what its heritage or how good it was. It's still an old Ford Escort; plus there are much better classics out there for less money. What are E-types or DB5s going for nowadays.....? Richard:no::huh:
  9. Looking very good mate; lovely and shiney too!! Richard:cool3:
  10. LOL - just a bit! I mean, that is more expensive than most 300zxs go for on Fleabay!!! Richard:whistling::hammer:
  11. Welcome back Steve! And good luck in your search mate. Richard:cool3:
  12. Cheers Chris - I've always gone on about how reliable a ZX should be; so it pains me to have it off the road for any reason!! Still - it was only a minor glitch thankfully........ Thanks Gary - and spot on with your diagnosis mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Happy birthday mate! Richard:rockon:
  14. Happy birthday mate! Richard:rockon:
  15. As above mate; it's a common problem - just spend a short while tightening up the hose clamps with a screwdriver. That should cure the fuel smell - unless you have a split hose somewhere. Richard:thumbup:
  16. Ed Zachery Jane..... ......whilst it is most probably a waste of time, one has nothing to lose by signing..... Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Here you go mate...... http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=sfp&va=amber+heard This week's star in a reasonably priced car!!! Richard:cool3:
  18. Ahem.... .....maybe I can help there mate........:innocent::tt2: Richard:tt2:
  19. Sorry to hear of your misfortune Kev. I hope it's nothing too serious and you get it sorted easily and not too expensively mate. Richard:no:
  20. Amen brother!! Richard:cool3:
  21. Keep the stock mirrors mate! The ZX is a pretty wide car and it's sure handy to be able to fold them in at times! Richard:thumbup:
  22. I take it you have a J-spec that's just had the face plate conversion, rather than the "proper" km/h to mph adjustment then........:surrender: Richard:flowers:
  23. Cheers Bri - it is that mate; it is fortunately a sound example, both mechanically and bodily!! Likewise Phil - I reckon it didn't help when I cleaned the car before the cold and snow set in. Water was still present on the brakes and did freeze at some point; the first time I took it out of the garage after the thaw there were 4 loud crunches as the hubs freed themselves!! LOL - that's because I would have been just a blue blur..... Yup; nice and healthy once more, which is a great feeling! So all in all, it was a good day out, plus I like Stratford as well. Julia says I was grinning and laughing like an idiot on a few quiet stretches of the M40; particularly when "passing" a pimped out green Jag S-type.... Richard:shuriken::thumbup1:
  24. As one or two of you know, my ZX didn't make it to Jeff's bash on the 5th owing to an annoying steering wheel vibration problem. Well it's sorted now - and full marks to Gary Wilson for correctly diagnosing the cause. The front right brake caliper had completely siezed - I discovered it last Saturday when I got home from a short trip and found the wheel too hot to touch and a slight smell of cooking brake pad!! So after a little help from JeffTT (thanks matey - top service as usual!!), some replacement calipers were quickly posted to my local garage and the offending item was replaced on Friday. Oh and they did the MOT as well - which it flew through.....:smartass: I decided to take the Z out for a 180 mile round trip to Stratford upon Avon today - it was sure good to find everything back to normal. The car seemed faster too - I guess siezed brakes might slow it down a bit.......:scared: So if anyone saw a blue ZX passing everything on the M40 today......:whistling: Also I was relieved to find that there was no damage to the disc either. Especially as they were new last summer (and only 5k miles on them!!) Richard:cool3:
  25. Yup - I agree with what Allan said...... Richard:cool3:
