  1. I have the fully tailored set from Autostyle in my car - superb quality and they cost me about £68 delivered, with a choice of colour combinations/binding etc.... http://www.autostyle.co.uk/ ........here's a couple of pics of mine! Richard:cool3:
  2. LOL - would be really good if you could pick the "Z" symbol!! Still dead cool though mate:flowers: Richard:cool2:
  3. Lynbrooks are pretty good - even with subtle mods like wheels, exhaust and filter. I only pay about £250 with those mods and 5000 miles p/a - it was under £200 if I only wanted 3000 miles p/a! But then I'm an old git.....:whistling: Richard:cool3:
  4. J-spec TT cars are virtually identical to the UK spec.... Richard:cool2:
  5. LOL - he obviously didn't - but then are schools any good nowadays? From what I can gather, all they teach the delightful little b@stards that pass for today's youth, is how to speak like Ali-G and write in TXT language!!! Richard:lol::no:
  6. Nice one Allan - I'm well pleased for you mate! Good to see your efforts and patience have paid off - only a couple of days to go now before it's nice and legal!! Good luck with it! Richard:sorcerer:
  7. Looks like a nice job you've done there mate! Very tidy indeed.... Richard:sorcerer:
  8. That just about sums it up I'd say! Richard:cool3:
  9. Sorry mate - but I'd say you were misinformed:no: If you bought the items off Ebay then I'd try and get your money back as it's apparent that the seller mis-sold them by saying that. If not, I hope you didn't pay too much for them.... Richard:flowers:
  10. I'm inclined to agree as well. As for the mileage issue - sure it sounds suspicious but why worry about mileage on a 20 year old car? Unless it's backed up with a full documented history, all old MOTs and bills for work, then I'd certainly not believe anything the owner or odometer said anyway! So buy a 300zx based on its condition. Most ZXs have covered big mileages since 1990 and any major components that have failed as a result will most likely have been replaced or upgraded. Look for evidence of such maintenance - remember a 120k mile car that has had expensive components replaced or rebuilt COULD be a better bet than a 75k mile car that is still original..... Richard:rockon:
  11. Happy birthday mate! Richard:santa:
  12. As he said... .....I have seen the odd "M" plate UK car (IIRC Dipone had one) but M reg came out in August 1994 whilst there were still a few ZXs knocking around waiting to be sold. Whether there were any still unregistered by August 1995 is anyone's guess...... Could it have been on a private plate beginning with "N" like an Irish NIL 1234, or something similar? It would be nice to see a UK spec registered that late though! Richard:cool3:
  13. I'd go black and grey as well....... .....but then seeing Alan's interior I reckon I'd do that as well - looks great mate! Richard:rockon:
  14. LOL - I've said almost exactly the same thing to Julia (although not a Rocco though)........:whistling: Richard:smartass:
  15. Welcome to the club mate - that looks like a nice example you have bought! Richard:cool3:
  16. Hi Dom, Welcome to the club mate - and if it's the car I think it is, you've bought a nice one there mate! Do get some pics up for us..... Richard:thumbup:
  17. Please do not let this turn into a for sale thread - only subbed members are permitted to sell on the forums. Richard
  18. I remember these coming up a while back as well..... .....which gives me an idea...... Richard:shuriken:
  19. I would tax it from the 1st of March and put the disc on straight away. Obviously the car is MOTd and insured as you would not be able to tax it if it wasn't - but technically you cannot drive it until 1st March when the tax becomes valid. And that means not storing the car on the public road either..... .......then whether you decide if you can resist it or not for a few days is a matter for your conscience Allan..... Richard:devil2::tt2:
  20. Yup - and it's a fine piece of kit as well. Not too loud, just a deeper rumble than standard. Richard:thumbup1:
  21. There's good and bad in every walk of life - most of the police probably do a pretty good job; but there are the "jobsworth" types that ruin it for everyone. About 3 years ago whilst on hols in the Isle of Wight, I got a bit pee'd off dawdling along at 30 in a 60 behind some old giffer in a Skoda. So at the first clear and safe opportunity I nailed it past the car in front (who couldn't be bothered to overtake) and the Skoda. I didn't actually break the speed limit, there was nothing coming the other way and, even though I was approaching a slight bend, it was in my favour view-wise so I could see a few hundred yards down the road that all was clear. It didn't stop the local plod from pulling me, breathalyzing me and giving me the third degree about how dangerous overtaking could me. I wasn't in the ZX at the time; it was my SLK350 - still a very fast car more than capable of overtaking safely with a good margin for error. The young copper was such a cocky little shit, so as I'd done nothing wrong, I was only too happy to point out he was wrong on a number of counts. The older of the two had a bit more sense - he had sat quiet for 10 minutes then decided enough was enough. He told the young gobshite he'd had his moment, that I'd done nothing wrong so it was about time to let me go. The older fella apologized for wasting my time and wished me a nice holiday! Richard:sailor:
  22. LOL - you're not the first to ask mate and I doubt you'll be the last..... Most folks will no doubt vote for the colour of their own cars - but I won't! I'm going for red as, according to the book "The 300zx Enthusiast's Companion" it was the designer's choice. And I can see why.... I do like black cars, but for some reason I just don't think a 300zx looks as good in black. For me, it's red white or silver. I didn't actually like them in blue until I bought one!! Richard:oops: PS for those who remember I did have a red one, once too......:tt2:
  23. I'd say no personally - a "30" grade is too thin for a TT engine when hot. Best go with a "40" grade to be safe - either a 10w40 or 5w40. Fully synthetic is always better than a semi; branding is a matter of choice; but stick with a good quality well known oil. You need just short of 4 litres with a filter change too...... Richard:chef:
  24. Definitely rubbing mate - and I'd guess the caliper has siezed. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks back - so I got a replacement caliper from JeffTT, then got my local garage to fit it. Alternatively you can order a rebuild kit for your existing one(s). Richard:shuriken:
  25. Happy birthday buddy! Richard:santa:
