Water pump
And make sure you only buy a genuine Nissan item, not a pattern version! JeffTT posted a thread soe time back comparing an aftermarket one with the OEM one - the impeller on the OEM one was much bigger. It's essential for efficient cooling on these engines!! Richard:cool3:

Cars that lead to your zed!
LOL......:clown::shifty: Me too Daz - I have thought about getting one several times, but always end up deciding to stick with the ZX. Great cars though - and the V8 in them is superb! Richard:thumbup1:

Spoiler on
That is looking superb Gary!! Just out of interest, if you're taking the 99-spec lights from the black ZX, what plans do you have for that? The black car is a nice example as well - and the 99-spec rear really suits that as well! Richard:cool3:

Oh wheely.....??
Is this another E-bay special..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-NISSAN-300ZX-FAIRLADY-IMPORT-ALLOY-WHEELS-5x114-/130428809328?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item1e5e29b070 Apparently they are for "import only as they don't clear the UK spec brakes!" I thought UK/import cars had the same brakes - maybe he means n/a cars only, as the earlier TTs had different brakes.....?? Richard:confused1::detective:

Zx speedo & mot
Flipping 'eck - talk about red tape and stupid rules......:surrender: .....it's almost worth the cost of bringing the car over to England on a ferry and getting an MOT here, then driving it back. Hang on a mo - that's not a bad idea!! Richard:flowers:

Zx speedo & mot
That does seem daft - but then I guess you can cross the border in and out of the Republic at will; do they just work in kms in the South? Can you add some kind of temporary alternative for the MOT; like wire in a GPS system measuring speed different to that which the dials do? Just a thought.... Richard:oops:

Thinking about the 300zx.
If you can get hold of a 'box, clutch pedal etc etc then yes mate! Otherwise JeffTT (Zedworld) will do the whole job all in for about £1600 - he sometimes has a waiting list for the conversion though - give him a call to discuss. Richard:cool3:

Smoking, but...
Sorry to hear your bad news Leo... I hope you get it sorted mate; and for not too many £££s. That's a tidy looking car you have and worth saving IMO. Richard:cool3:

i want a new job

Mechanic\Competent Garage needed
Seconded! Jeff is 100 or so miles from me but I still prefer to make the trip to Zedworld; just to ensure that someone who knows these cars inside out will work on it and diagnose/fix any problems properly! Richard:cool3:
-
front n/s caliper
No worries Lee - Jeff sorted the same for me following a siezure! Richard:cool3:

Seat Covers
That's a bit of a misconception in my opinion mate! Leather - good leather - is so much nicer than cloth and doesn't suffer from the "cold in winter/hot in summer" problem really. It adds a classy feel to the interior of any car; adding to the over-all driving experience. If you wear a coat in the winter then you won't notice the first 2 minutes in the morning when you get in the car; likewise in summer, tinted glass and a sun-screen can help block most of the sun's rays (especially if you park in the shade)..... But if you're really worried about seasonal extremes, heated seats solve the winter issue and a/c solves the summer one. Job done!! Richard:laugh::thumbup1:

front n/s caliper
Hi Lee, My advice - give JeffTT a call mate. He'll sort you the right one for your car and won't charge an arm/leg for it either! Richard:cool3:

Thinking about the 300zx.
Welcome (back?) to the club Chris! Richard:thumbup1:

A bit expensive
LOL - well spotted mate! Still he may get lucky with the "wrong" price - even one at that rate will make him a fair profit!!! Richard:lol:
-
Small dents .... big damage
Thanks for that Jeff - it just shows what could easily be hidden by just replacing the bumper!! I reckon this is something that new ZX buyers should be made aware of! Richard:cool3:
