How can you tell an import.
That is nothing to worry about - the date on the seat belt tag is the date of manufacture; not registration. Plenty of UK spec cars sat around dealerships for months before they were bought and/or registered. So it's not uncommon for a UK car to be registered a year or so after it was made! Richard:cool3:

How can you tell an import.
Just like Andy says..... .....anyone could have bought it here and shipped it out of the country before it was registered! PhilP has a ZX previously owned by the Sultan of Brunei - that is a UK spec (although it may have been registered here originally) which was shipped over to Brunei and spent its life there until sold; when it was brought back and re-registered in the UK. Other small touches to confirm its origin might include the UK clocks (although many imports have them retro-fitted now) and the washer button on the head light switch. Also UK & Euro spec cars have the full 17 digit chassis number; J-spec cars VIN numbers are much shorter! Richard:cool2:

300zx tt vs civic type r old shape!
If it were a stock Type-R there would be no question; ZX all the way.... .....but a 240bhp one, who knows? But they are FWD and I reckon it would struggle to put down the power, not to mention torque steer, so even with the weight advantage it's a tough call. As Hellraiser suggests, after 80 or so then the superior power and torque of a 300zx would probably give it the advantage. Richard:winkiss:

Damned jack.....
Hi Baz - yes, completely stock! And to piss me off even more..... .....I went inside after 2 attempts (and it had started to rain BTW) only to find the whole village was suffering from a blasted power cut:thumbdown: So I had to cook (gas - fortunately) by candlelight. It's come back on now though - otherwise I wouldn't be here 'coz the router would not work LOL:tt2: I reckon I'll just pop into the garage again tomorrow and ask them to swap the spare over, then do the free re-test! Richard:pinch:
