  1. I agree with what Dave says..... ......I do like the 3000GT/GTO; but it would have to be the face lifted version with fixed head lights and the 6 speed 'box, UK spec and fully loaded. And yes, all the motoring press at the time rated it very poorly compared to the 300zx, RX7, Porsche 968 and Mk4 Supra. UK based road tests put the GT close to the 300zx over 0-60, but by 100 the 300zx was significantly superior...... Richard:cool3:
  2. Yup - that is true also Ian..... ......but at least you left your details. If someone hit my car and drove off, I'd be more pissed off mate. And sorry to hear of your misfortune; your luck must surely change for the better now - especially after doing the right thing in this instance! Richard:sorcerer:
  3. You only pay the excess in respect of damage to your own car mate. If a 3rd party claims against you then your insures pay the full 100% of his claim - it's law that every motorist is insured completely against any claim from another party. Richard:cool3:
  4. Hmmm - I'd be interested in that too! If you can rustle up enough interest don't forget to run it past Brian (Znut) first mate. Richard:flowers:
  5. LOL - now you're really confusing me mate!! All I know is that most insurers rate me personally as a pretty low risk, despite the fact I drive 2 high performance cars. So over the years they have all been pretty eager to accept my business on that basis as it looks like a safe gamble for them. Hence when it comes to renewal time, I just seem to negotiate an all inclusive premium that I am happy to pay. So ultimately I don't really care how it is made up - eg the charge for legal cover/PNCB/courtesy car etc etc - all I care about is how little I have to hand over in total!! Simples.....:tt2: Richard:yes:
  6. Nice one mate - good luck! Richard:yes:
  7. Oh dear....... ......but that was as funny as the farts kill video clip posted earlier today!! Richard:lol:
  8. Back to the original question though.... ....and that's a good insight into how premiums are calculated from those in the trade. However I would still actually enquire into just how much extra it costs to protect your NCB before dismissing it. With my everyday policy the increase in premium is barely £10. I'm 41 with full NCB; driving for 24 years and only 1 fault claim back in 2004 (plus 1 non-fault in 2008); clean licence - and I only pay £308 FC to insure a £30k Merc SLK350!! Peanuts I reckon...... Richard:cool3:
  9. I've sussed your secret ID Dave - you guys sponsor the Classic Car Show at the NEC every year, if I'm not mistaken. Best say no more about that at the moment though; especially as you're still an unsubbed member. However might I suggest you send an e-mail to our traders liaison officer - Brian AKA Znut - to discuss the matter. znut@300zx.co.uk Richard:chef:
  10. RichardS replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - Non 300ZX
At first glance I was not sure whether this type of post was welcome on the public forums. However as I don't condone drink driving, I reckon this could serve as a serious warning to us all. I feel for the woman who's car your mate drove into and hope she made a full recovery. I sincerely hope that your mate has learned his lesson. I also hope that the authorities threw the book at him for his reckless and irresponsible behaviour. I've moved this to non-Z related though; and if anyone takes offence at the pictures it will be removed completely. Richard
  11. LOL - are you sure you're not just reading it as you wanted it to appear!!! Richard:tt2:
  12. No I couldn't do that Dave - I have sniffed a cork or two this evening as well; not that it's clouded my judgement....... Richard:winkiss:
  13. That looks a tidy example Dave - and welcome to the club mate!! You've picked a good colour there too....... Richard:chef:
  14. You're all wrong. There's only one side to a story - mine!! And if you argue I will ban you all - one by one.......:tt2::tt2::tt2::devil2: Richard:devil: Mental note - don't over do it.......:winkiss:
  15. Agreed! Plus with a job like that, getting it done properly is more important than getting it done cheaply! A decent weld job will last a lot longer in the long run and with a nice late UK spec like yours, I'd pay for a professional repair. Richard:yes:
  16. That's what I was thinking mate! If it wasn't a proper laser 4 wheel allignment machine then IMO they shouldn't have taken on the job in the first place. Richard:thumbdown:
  17. Always protect it IMO..... ....the extra premium is not usually that much more compared to losing your NCB altogether. And no matter how careful a driver you think you may be, anyone can have an accident. And in today's world of personal injury matters and fraudulent claims, who knows what's around the corner. Protect it Indy - don't take the risk mate; it's taken you years to build up!! Richard:cool2:
  18. Nice pics Mark.... The Diablo has always been my favourite Lambo. There's a classic car dealership fairly near me - Slades in Penn - and they had a fine example of the targa version for sale a while back. It was stunning, in metallic purple with the number plate P666 LAM. Awesome!!! Richard:sorcerer:
  19. All these replies and everyone forgot you also asked about a quick detailer too.......:tt2: I use Meguairs NXT or Turtle Wax Ice detailing spray to refresh the bodywork between washes, or remove contaminants from the paintwork. Both work for me!! Richard:sorcerer:
  20. Nick (Takemetothepub) has a valid point about the cost of everything rising; and fuel is just in proportion with other comodities which have increased in price over the last few years. And in principle I have to agree...... .......However when the high price of fuel is heavily attributale to taxes and duties; rather than the actual base price of the item in question, then it is unjust. Particularly as successive governments have jumped on the "green bandwagon" and used the false (in my opinion) justification of global warming (which has conveniently been renamed "climate change" FFS) to raise such duties. But I don't necessarily blame the past or present government - after all, it is the Great British population that has essentially swallowed the green argument. Most of the UK has fallen for it hook line and sinker - up and down the country the masses nodded in agreement that cars kill polar bears so no-one complained at the time; and agreed that such tough measures were needed to save the planet. I bet that many of us here believe(d) in global warming - yet we all happily still drive our 3 litre, often twin turbo'd, junior supercars!! Richard:winkiss:
  21. Car Plan Tyre Slick is damn good - it has won the Auto Express "best in class" product award for about a thousand years running now...... Otherwise I reckon Turtle Wax Platinum cream is very good - also Meguiars Tyre Shine or Turtle Wax "Wet N Black" do a nice job and last well. Richard:cool2:
  22. Simply stunning mate - you have a fantastic car there!! Richard:cool2:
  23. Much better mate!! I'm not a fan of graphics on cars in any shape or form; so I reckon your ZX is all the better now!! Richard:cool3:
  24. Nice one Daz - once again Jeff and Co have worked their magic!! Richard:clap:
  25. Many happy returns Danny - have a great day mate! Richard:happybday:
