Great news Ian - and having met you and your kids, I had every confidence in you getting the right result matey!! As for pressies, Julia gave me my usual Chanel Pour Monsieur, Jezza C's latest book and DVD, Simon Jenkins' "Short History of England" book, this years "Big Book of Top Gear," a bottle of vintage port and some nice choccie mints..... .......My parents gave me some cash, this year's Beano annual (yes I'm 41 but it's a tradition:blushing:) and more choccie..... ......my sister bought me a bottle of D&G number 6 and, on behalf of my niece & nephew, yet more choccie.... E46 Germanic Cruiser
Hey Brian, Merry Christmas mate - good to see you're still around! As said, the E46 is a nice car (M3 aside I also hear that the 330d is also pretty good); but once the ZX bug has bitten you, it's sure hard to get the venom out of your veins!! When you didn't get yourself that 928, I wondered how long it would be before you bought yourself another 300zx...... Take care Bri - and good luck in what you end up buying matey! Seems out of proportion!
Hey Baz, did you take the pic with a DSLR by any chance mate? I have a few pics of my ZX taken on the new DSLR I bought in the summer - when I view then as normal pics through Windows they look great..... .....but the minute I tried to use one as a background pic on my work desktop, I got the same mis-shapen pic! I put that down to the aspect ratios of the PC screen.....:blushing::wink: Richard:surrender:

fuel filter
Sorry mate - I don't..... .....but if you need a new one then Nissan's prices aren't too high for an OEM item. I'd obviously recommend Mike at MJP in our traders section - but since you are in Norway it might be easier/cheaper for you to get one straight from Nissan. Richard:cool2:

2012 events calendar...
Hi mate, wasn't there once a car event at Crail - with a track or drag-strip going on? Whilst it's a damn long way from me, Crail looks a nice place so I'd be up for visiting there one weekend..... Richard:thumbup1:

2012 events calendar...
Hi everyone, We are yet to compose our own calendar of events for 2012 - but rest assued Voddy, our intrepid NEO, will soon be on the case..... ....but in view of our renewed alliance with the Z-club here is a taster of what's on in 2012 by way of their calendar (my thanks to the Z-club for permitting the link): http://zclub.net/forum/news/20575-z-club-2012-event-schedule.html If anyone has any questions or ideas, please contact Vodkashots. Cheers - and I hope to meet a few more of you in 2012! Richard:cool2:

The Z-Club and us; and the future...!
As many of our older/longer serving members will know, this club always had a very good relationship with The Z Club until an unfortunate (and lets say unmentionable) turn of events occurred a couple of years back..... ......However I have recently been in talks with Madmarco and Steve Burns over at the Z Club. So, on behalf of the committee, I am pleased to announce that we have buried our past differences and renewed our old alliance!! The Z/ZX scene has no doubt dwindled or become fragmented in recent times and neither of us want that to continue. Therefore in the best interests of our collective membership the Z-Club and us will once again be promoting each others' events. We also hope to have a joint presence at many of the larger events - with the help of our own REOs (and no doubt some club funds:whistling:) this should definitely be possible! The committee are very pleased that our respective clubs have taken this step as it can only benefit our members; and once again unite Z/ZX enthusiasts as "one big happy family!" So we certainly have something to look forward to in 2012. Kind regards Richard On behalf of The Committee

smell of petrol
Hi Mark, when the weather gets colder it is common for the rubber fuel hoses to contract a bit; then petrol can seep out at all the joints with the metal pipework. An easy fix is to go round with a screwdriver and tighten up all of the jubilee-type clips on the rubber hoses. That normally does the trick; unless you have a morer serious leak! Richard:chef:

Pics of my GS300
Looking good Jane!! And 38mpg is very impressive - especially for a 3 litre!! I barely see 30mpg from my SLK, even on a long run:blink: As for your leather, Gliptone conditioner is very good for restoring the appearance. If it's not too bad, then any reasonable leather conditioning cream will help. Once it's conditioned, I can thoroughly recommend Zymol leather cleaner. Halfords sell it for about £7 for a small spray-type bottle - it really cleans well, leaves a classy matt finish and restores than nice leather smell.... Richard:thumbup1:

one good reason why not to use your phone when driving
Thing is, and I'm just making an assumption here, the motorcyclist was probably doing more than 15mph over the limit. You're assuming it was in a 70mph zone, however notice the VW driver "....pulled out from a side street....!" Yes, she should not have been on her phone either - which is why I do not use the phone whilst driving (except on hands free to answer a call - and tell the caller I'm drving!). But pulling from a side street onto a 70mph road is unlikely (possible, but unlikely) - so at best the limit could have been 60mph. My guess is that it wasn't.....:crying: Still - it's a powerful reminder to us all. Richard:scared:

old film's?
For me..... Highlander - the best film with the greatest soundtrack by far!! And also from the 1980s, in no particular order: Running Scared Commando Ferris Bueller's Day Off The Indiana Jones trilogy Back to the Future trilogy Superman 1 & 2 (yes, I know Superman The Movie was 1979...LOL) Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2 Brewsters Millions Stir Crazy Scum - how cool was Ray Winstone. Who's the daddy........ Romancing the Stone & Jewel of The Nile And those others from various decades......: Falling Down (LOL - that could be me...) Black Rain The Untouchables When Harry Met Sally Any Bond movie before Daniel Craig Goodfellas The Godfather trilogy Once upon a Time in America Lethal Weapon 1/2/3 (4 not so good IMO) Any Dirty Harry movie Under Seige 1 & 2 Enter The Dragon (the proper uncut version) And for comedy, you can't beat: The Austin Powers trilogy Spy Hard The Naked Gun trilogy The Silver Streak Blazing Saddles Johnny English I'm sure there are many many more, but I just cannot remember them all..... Richard:cool2:
