  1. As long as you alter the tyre profiles so that you are running as close to the stock rolling circumferences as possible, then it's no problem at all. So on your fronts, go with 235/45/17 tyres and on the back 255/35/18 (or even 265 depending on the rim width) - that will be just fine mate!! Richard:shuriken:
  2. So true - and that would really piss me off...... .....like the time I collected my ZX from the garage last year. They had (with all good intentions) parked it in a side road as they have limited space near the workshop; but some building work was going on in the house opposite. When I got back to the car, it was covered in cement dust. I had to wash it off immediately when I got home - can you imagine the mess it would have made it it had rained on the car whilst covered in the dust??? Thing is, half the cars parked nearby would also have been dusted too - including those "safely" parked in their owners' driveways. There are a lot of expensive Mercs, BMs and Jags etc around here. Luckily I had the time (and weather conditions) to clean it off right away!!! Fookin careless b@stards....:2guns:
  3. Cool van Nathan!! Richard:punk:
  4. Great news Allan and Shell....!!! Congratulations to all 3 of you...... Have you got a name for him yet? Richard:thumbup:
  5. Me too Joel...... ....I'm not a red car fan, but there is something about a red ZX that I like. Even though I now have a blue one, I still like the 300zx best in red - I believe it was "the designer's choice" too....... Richard:cool3:
  6. Many happy returns Marty - hope you had a good day mate!! Richard:cool3:
  7. It does look a nice find........ .......and for the record my UK spec also appears rust free...... Sure there must be some lurking somewhere, but it is remarkably clean. And Jeff also mentioned it was sound when he undersealed it for me.....!! Richard:tt2:
  8. Yup - thank you for your continued support mate!! Richard:thumbup:
  9. Hi Nathan, On behalf of the committee here, I thank you for posting this thread. As my fellow committee/mods have said, we appreciate your comments (especially as you have been signed up here for a couple of years now) and welcome your presence in the sprit it was intended! I look forward to seeing the van pics too mate! ATB Richard:thumbup:
  10. Seconded!! I love a good bit of club spirit and cheer being spread!! Richard:rockon:
  11. LOL - probably mate, but I'm too lazy......:winkiss: Do let me know what you think of them though please, as I hear they are a great bit of kit!! Richard:sorcerer:
  12. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:thumbup:
  13. Nice one Lee - always loved Rangies!! Good luck with it mate - and get the pics up soon..... Richard:wink:
  14. Cool - I'm thinking of getting a set of these myself..... ....but fitting them is not something I'll attempt; hopefully Jeff will be able to do that for me..... Richard:thumbup:
  15. It sure was a great day to take the ZX out - nice one Jason!! I took mine for a 150 mile round trip today as it was nice and sunny; along the M4 as far as Hungerford then and onto the A4 to Avebury. Roads were nice and empty, the cool air was doing good things for the turbos (so any slow movers were quickly despatched) and the ZX was running sweeeetly!!! Glad you had a good day too mate!! Richard:cool3:
  16. Well I'm sold - I certainly cannot see the difference...... Stevie Wonder:tt2:
  17. Many happy returns mate! Richard:sorcerer:
  18. Happy birthday Steve.... ....wherever you may be mate!! Richard:sorcerer:
  19. Welcome to the club mate!! Richard:yes:
  20. I normally see 250-ish miles between fill ups (about 60-65 litres), IE when the light comes on........ .....but I have managed 300 once; driving back from the Lake District - and I wasn't hanging aroung either......:whistling: But like Yowser says, from a complete tankful, it is still under 20mpg so anything around 21-23 is good in my book for a twin turbo ZX... Richard:1eye:
  21. Hi everybody, Just to let you know, Zedfest 2012 is set for August 10th, 11th and 12th this year. It is being held at Sherbrooke Scout Camp, Mansfield Lane, Calverton, Notts. NG14 6HP..... ....for further details please see here: http://zclub.net/forum/shows-meets-uk/20967-zed-fest-2012-a.html Richard:cool3:
  22. Makes me mad too - I hate to think what I'd do if I actually caught one of these fookers in the act. Suffice to say I may end up being the one arrested.....:thumbdown: Sorry to hear about your car Spoolmeister, I hope it doesn't cost you too much to get it fixed mate. Richard:sneaky2:
  23. It depends on the emissions of the car and the price when new mate. So a low emission diesel car, like a VW Golf TDi (new price £20k) will cost you around £60 per month if you are a basic rate tax payer and £120 per month if you are on 40%. If you do take the company car, do not have your private fuel paid for by the company, unless you drive over 12000 PERSONAL miles per annum. It's just not worth it - you'd be better off paying for your own fuel and claiming back fuel for business journeys..... You get stung for tax on private fuel paid for in a company car. So based on the above - you could not buy/tax/insure/repair/fit tyres for a brand new £20k Golf yourself, for just £120 per month. If you need it for work, take the company car option and pop your ZX on a classic policy. If you won't be needing a car for business, then ask what alternatives your employer will give. Richard:cowboy:
  24. Maybe completely unrelated to the work you have had done.... .....but how are your brakes? I had a seized caliper and it gave severe vibration through the steering wheel and entire floor on the driver's side (it was the right caliper). Richard:surrender:
  25. Happy birthday mate! Richard:balloon:
