What would you choose .............. ????? And why ..............
Exactly what he said....... ....An MX5 should be had for a reasonable price right now - as compared to after the clocks go forward..... The prices will start to increase from then as summertime is on its way!! And IMO television is pretty crap nowadays so I wouldn't bother with the plasma!! But if you do like your TV then simply sell the MX5 before winter sets in and get a new TV then!! Richard:thumbup:

Another Red Lyon meet. 17th March 2012
Great pics Paul - and really good to meet you mate!! BTW - I like your reference to "thin versions" of the Mitchell Brothers. Makes me feel a lot better being thought of as thin!!! See you again soon mate, Richard:cool3:

Oil??
As said before mate - it's the second number (the "40" bit) that is most important as it indicates the ability of the oil to remain in grade when hot.... .....so 0w40, 5w40 and 10w40 are all the same once up to full temperature; the first number is just the viscocity when cold - the lower the number the faster it circulates in harsh winter conditions. So the general advice is to use a decent fully synthetic oil in a normal TT engine; hence Mobil-1 should be just fine! Although I previously found that Mobil-1 0w40 didn't quite make the same oil pressure when hot in my old Mk3 Supra, but switching to Castrol edge 0w40 or Shell Helix 5w40 improved it a lot..... ....hence I have not tried Mobil-1 in my ZX yet! zed rear bumpers
Very true re the wheels mate; my theory was just a wild stab in the dark..... :whistling: And I can't say I ever noticed this before - so it's all Car Mad's fault for starting the thread in the first place..... Richard:smartass:

zed rear bumpers
Yup - I think you have the "flare" too mate....!!
-
zed rear bumpers
But maybe that's just it Dave..... ...the SWB could have the extra flare as the US spec TT is an SWB only; whereas all EU spec cars were LWB TTs.... ...so Nissan could have made the flared bumper for the EU market cars; plus all SWB cars (since they were made in smaller numbers), leaving the J-spec LWB cars having the "non-flared" bumper.... ....Just a thought - else it could just beslight differences in the molding of the bumpers?? Richard:blink:

zed rear bumpers
I think he means the UK spec, with rear fog light mate...!! Richard:flowers:

nice sunny day
Yes - that's the one mate!
-
zed rear bumpers
I think I see what you mean Dave..... ....there is a slight "ridge" in the pic you say has the flared type. Could it be the difference between UK spec and J-spec rear ends - after all the UK spec (and US spec TT) came with 245 wide rear tyres? So perhaps cars in those markets had the extra "flare" to fully cover the wider tyres..... Richard:cool3:

nice sunny day
Sounds a good day mate!! Sadly the weather down here was not as good as you had it..... Still a few of us got together for a meet this afternoon once it had dried out - I didn't take any pics, but Pablito took a few. Hopefully he'll be posting them up shortly!! Richard:cool3:

Falken FK452
I have to agree - whilst Falkens and Yokos get good reviews when fitted to Japanese cars - on a German car you can't do better than Conti Sport Contacts!! I would not even think about putting anything else on my SLK350 - my first one had Pirelli P-Zero Rossos fitted from new; but when they needed replacing I went for Contis and it was like a whole different, improved car. My latest one came with the Contis (in "MO" fitment) and I'm sticking with them.... ......Oddly enough I now have Conti Sport Contact 3s on my 300zx as well (it was all the tyre place had in stock when they fitted my new wheels) and I have to say they are impressive. I think the Goodyear Eagle F1 asymetrics were the best tyres I have had on a ZX, but the Contis aren't far behind - not to mention a few £££s cheaper per corner..... Richard:cool3:

whats everyone upto tonite
Yes thanks mate...!! Apart from a wet start (ooo-er missus) it was good to get the ZX out this afternoon and meet up with a few other like-mided folk for a drink and a natter about our Zs!! Luckily it stayed dry for the rest of the day so it didn't stop us hanging around in the field behind the pub among the cars. Then home for a quick bath before the taxi picked us up and took us out for dinner. And alcohol.... Then to finish, a bit of healthy forum time. What could be better..... Richard:wink:

Happy St Pats

Off to zedworld
Great news mate.... ....there is something about Zedworld that when you take your car there, no matter what for, it always seems sooo much better to drive when you collect it. Jeff and Jamie are 300zx wizzards for sure!! Richard:shuriken:

whats everyone upto tonite
Good to see you again this afternoon Ian; and sorry I could not stay later into the evening...... .....After I got home from the Red Lyon meet, Julia and I went out to the Chinese restaurant down in the village.... We started with a Tsing Tao beer or two, moved onto a bottle of wine and finished with a couple of Creme de Menthes - oh and there was some very nice food to be had in between the alcohol. Needless to say, I'm feeling quite mellow and fuzzy inside right now.... Richard:cool3:
