  1. Many happy returns Rich - I hope you have a great day matey!!! Richard :happybday:
  2. .....in particular dopey farmer/pikey types.....:cursing: I left home nice and early this morning as I wanted to get a few bits done at work before closing for Christmas. So there I was driving happily along a nice and fairly quiet national speed limit A-road; it was pitch dark (it's the shortest day - LOL) and there were no street lights. I wasn't driving overly fast - maybe 65 at the most - when I thought I saw something not too far in front of me.... ....turns out I did. A stupid f***ing c**t driving along in a black double cab truck, towing a black trailer, at no more than 30mph WITH NO LIGHTS ON IT!!! There were no reflectors, no rear number plate and the damn thing was near invisible until I was a few metres away!!! Luckily I have very good brakes - and there was a "right turn" centre section I could swerve into at the last minute. Oh andnothing was coming the other way!!! Honestly, what possesses these morons to venture out onto the road without due consideration for other road users??? Richard:pinch:
  3. Nice one Scott - thank you for your support mate! I have your e-mail and will forward it on to Gary for you - he is membership sec and will sort out your pack etc. ATB Richard:sorcerer:
  4. Ooooh - sorry to see that Jeff. My fingers are crossed for the owner...... Do let us know the outcome matey! Richard:helpsmilie:
  5. Agreed - the Z32 was every bit as good, some say better, than its peers back in the early 1990s. The problem most of us have now is simply the age and associated wear and tear of the components involved in keeping the ZX glued to the road!! That and the fact that times and standards have improved in the last 20 years - hence the Z33 and Z34 (stock for stock) will no doubt handle better. They are a much more modern design!! That said, if everything is in good working order and a few little improvements have been made, a Z32 can still hold its own today. All I have done is fit Meister R coilovers and poly bushes at the front - plus a decent 4 wheel allignment - and I prefer the "feel" of the Zx on the road as compared to my 3 year old SLK350 AMG sport spec...! Richard:chef:
  6. Welcome to the club James!! Richard:angel:
  7. Could be a good call for your car Mark...... ......and those little black side skirts are the business!! I'd have a set of those like a shot! Richard:cool3:
  8. That looks like it makes perfect sense there mate!! And I cannot say I've noticed any holographic writing on mine mate - as above, I also leave the targa blinds on mine.... Richard:sorcerer:
  9. Hi buddy, Would you by any chance be Scott Smith - if so I have just replied to your e-mail mate!! Sorry - I didn't make the connection initially (even though I have now noticed your e-mail address; d'oh!!). Richard:oops:
  10. Sounds like you've hit the jackpot there Bri....!! Richard:donatello:
  11. Heh heh..... never mind matey!! Richard:oops:
  12. Many happy returns for yesterday mate! Richard:happybday:
  13. Agreed - just nasty IMO..... ......wheels are not bad though...... Richard:hurl:
  14. No worries Pete - and I'd look forward to that too matey!! Richard:thumbup1:
  15. Ditto mate..... Richard:thumbup1:
  16. My main concern would be the abrasive effect of the cover scratching the paintwork as the wind blows against it..... .....but then I've never used a car cover myself so I cannot speak from experience. But how about one of these..... http://www.carcoon.com/ Richard:yinyang:
  17. Cheers Gary - like you mate, I am always cleaning and polishing the cars; and I have loads of pics knocking around.......
  18. Welcome to the club mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  19. It's been said before - but some still doubt it - that the stock ZX brakes are actually very good...... When working properly; as years of hauling a 1.5 tonne high performance car will no doubt have taken their toll on the brake components. So rather than buy a big brake upgrade, if your car is stock (ish) and not used on a track, then just go for new standard kit. You can buy fully re-furbed calipers from a company called "Big Redd" on an exchange basis - then get new Brembo (stock replacement) discs and pads from Ebay for reasonable money. That will be more than adequate for most peoples' needs - without the big price tag of a mega upgrade! Richard:thumbup1:
  20. Nice Fez Sambo - I hated the "fast Fords" back in the 1980s but today they are old school cool mate!! I quite like the Mk1 XR2 as well - that and the Capri, XR3i, RS turbo and the (very expensive nowadays) Mk2 Escort RS2000! So you have ditched the CVH and dropped a Zetec in there...? Nice!! As for my own toys - my ZX is the toy, but I have a shiney silver German daily driver..... And a little Rav for the winter (we get our fair share of ice and snow in the Chilterns - LOL); which Julia uses every day.... Richard:thumbup1:
  21. LOL - soooo negative!! All I do is drive mine from time to time......
  22. Pass...... ....although all I can say is that not all diplomats/embassy staff are wealthy!! I have seen some right ropey old bangers sporting diplomatic plates - I guess it depends what country they belong to....!! Richard:laugh:
  23. That's good news mate - and Ebay has agreed no fees either. Best result all round there I'd say; I still hate the place for selling though.... Richard:thumbup1:
  24. Never seen one of those before!! it looks like a cross between the original Lexus LS400 and the Chrysler 300c...... Of your choices in your first post, I'd probably play it safe with the BMW 330d; I am a bit of a Merc fan, but there's something about the CLK that never did it for me; so I'd pick the BM..... Richard:yinyang:
  25. Nice work Terry - looks like it's coming on nicely mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
