  1. Good news there Graham!! Richard:donatello:
  2. Just a thought - but would the permit be registration specific? If so, then even if the permit is not visible, the authorities should know that what ever vehicle the permit relates to is covered.... Richard:detective:
  3. Some good ones in there.....:chinese:
  4. That is down to choice of tyres; and whether they are correctly balanced and (if the tyres are directional) on the right way round! The stock wheels were fine when Mr Nissan put them on the car in the factory - and upgrading to bigger, wider wheels will marginally improve road-holding and handling; but not so much that the car should feel crap if you ever have to revert back to standard......:helpsmilie:
  5. I think I did mate - and I think Julia actually went ahead with one of the O2 sensor replacements at said local garage; only to have the engine light come on a day or two later.... Before you fit it Gary, it might be worth running the car into the nearest main dealers for a second opinion - you might be able to get a refund on that sensor if it's not actually needed! Richard:detective:
  6. Looks good Sambo - and I agree, nothing wrong with the standard wheels mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. It looks like you may be right Mark - from what I have read on the owners' forums..... I'll try one trick first though - apparently it may be possible through the wheel-arch covers with the wheels on full lock....... I know all about that too Gary - we had the same thing on the silver 52-reg one Julia had previously. A local garage diagnosed the fault, but something he said did not give me much confidence; so I spoke to the garage I used to use before moving house. He told me that for most Toyotas, the "generic" diagnostic equipment found in independent garages is not actually very good at diagnosing the fault. He did the same test for free for me and it still said the same thing - o2 sensors needed replacing; but advised taking the car to a main dealer before splashing out. So I did, and I am glad about it - instead of replacing the sensors at £100+ a pop, they said all it needed was a software upgrade. All in, with the diagnostics and re-set of the ECU was £50 plus VAT and job done!! LOL - I said that to Julia an hour ago..... It will be a laugh watching them try!!! Richard:online2long:
  8. I know what you mean Gary - although I believe some of my old stuff if still in my parent's loft...... Hmmm, I might just sneak away for a wee rummage on Tuesday!! Richard:innocent:
  9. LOL - I did suggest that as she has small, slim hands, she could try and do it herself....... .......I've only just regained the ability to walk upright again!! Richard:oops:
  10. ......But not as difficult, it would seem, as the supposedly simple task of changing the side light bulbs on Julia's Rav-4:cursing: I bought 3 sets of nice bright LEDs for the cars and thought I'd pop them in this morning. The ZX is easy - one of the few thing that is - just undo the retaining screws, pop the lamp unit out twist the holder and done. The Merc - well, it's a bit fiddly with short clumsy fingers, but still all done in 10 minutes.... .....but the Rav-4? I have to say I gave up - unless you have hands the size and dexterity of a marmoset, it is impossible!!! She has the 05/06 facelifted version of the Mk2 Rav; and the side lights are at the lower/outer-most corner of the headlamp unit and there as no way of actually being able to touch the bulb-holder, let alone twist it out!! So I thought about removing the head lamp unit - but gave up there as well. After undoing the 2 top retaining bolts, it became obvious I would have to remove the whole front grill. And the headlamp surround. And even then I still could not see what else had to come off..... How the fook are you supposed to get to it....:cursing: Richard:helpsmilie:
  11. Done - and a deserved first place IMO. HOwever a lot of the other cars in the competition are, I am sad to say, pretty poor TBH!! I went for the MA70 Supra second, followed by the 200sx.... Richard:oops:
  12. Nice going there Stu.....!! I remember you posting about the Breitling a while back - did you keep or sell it in the end mate? Richard:sorcerer:
  13. I only heard some of it...... Julia was watching it upstairs so I was just listening whilst laying in the bath!! Predictably Lego was at number 1..... Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Nice slicky!! Congratulations on your new purchase mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  15. LOL - likewise Bri.....:winkiss:
  16. Hoh hoh - very good Jerrick!!! And a Merry Christmas to you as well!!! Richard:santa:
  17. LOL - made me laugh!!! Richard:lol:
  18. Amen brother - testified.......!! .......shame I don't have one though; much more use that the "other" so called bible I guess - LOL!! (Just my personal stab at a joke; no offence intended or implied....):innocent: Richard:angel:
  19. Hell - that's gonna cost the unfortunate owner some £££££s!! Take it easy out there with all the excess surface water on the roads guys and gals; we don't want to see this happening to us, do we.... Richard:helpsmilie:
  20. Looking good Allan..... ....Me? I knocked up a chicken, green pepper and mushroom tikka massala with basmati rice.... I bought some red onion and sweet potato bahjis to go with it, along with a garlic and corriander naan bread. We washed it all down with a Kingfisher or two; plus a nice white burgundy.... Sweeeeeeet!!! Richard:drool:
  21. The Club Committee and Moderation Team would like to thank the membership for your support during 2012, and we wish you ALL and your families a Very Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2013. :cool3::santa:
  22. Not me - I finished Friday and I have 2 weeks off; returning to work on Monday the 7th..... ....And I feel for you guys working over the festive season; but ask yourselves one question. Are you really missing much? Christmas Day isn't what it used to be when you were a child - it's just another day now and most of us waste it by eating/drinking too much and having to be nice to family members we spend the rest of the year avoiding!!! Christmas Eve though, that's different! I still love Christmas Eve now, just as much as I always used to - so much so that in all my working life (26 years) I have always made sure I've never actually been at work Christmas Eve... Working or not, wherever you are; and whatever you are doing, have a very merry Christmas and may 2013 be good for you and those you hold dear. Richard:cool3:
  23. I guess it's all part of the fun of driving.....!! ....and I agree also mate! Richard:oops:
