  1. All courier companies are (sadly) pretty much the same mate.... ....it's just a question of finding the best of a bad bunch and hoping they don't break your consignment. My works storeman has tried them all - and has decided upon UPS; as they seem to deliver the greatest number of parcels in one piece (including glass panels)... Other than that, he uses FedEx; a bit cheaper but not so good on the damage front. Richard:sad:
  2. And one by the greatest rock band; from my favourite film..... Hell, this was mine and Julia's wedding song!!!! Richard:bow:
  3. Great song mate - I was about 13 or 14 when that came out.... And it also featured in an episode of Knight Rider!! And yes - I agree Laura Brannigan was pretty hot...LOL Here's a contribution from me..... Richard:cool3:
  4. Sorry to hear you cannot go Mike - should be a good gig and all... ...good luck with the sale though!! Richard:cool3:
  5. Happy birthday Andy - have a great day matey!! Richard :happybday:
  6. Many happy returns Jaz.... ....have a great day mate! Richard:cool3:

Hi Tony, If you are up for being REO, I'll put it before the committee - and Voddy our NEO. In general I think 300zx owners are dwindling as the cars get rarer and more expensive to run; but don't let that stop you from holding meets. After all, some people do travel out of their region to meet other owners and have a good day out - especially if there are some decent driving roads and places of interest to make a day of things! Thanks for the interest mate; I'll be in touch by PM shortly.... ....As for my hols, we're staying in Sheringham, our hotel is apparently right next to Sheringham Park. I used to visit Norfolk a lot as a child and, apart from a 2 day break to Norwich about 3 years ago, I've not really been up that way for years - hence I thought it's time to return.... .....I'm not 100% sure I'll be bringing the ZX - although I normally do use it for holidays... Richard:cool3:
  8. Welcome to the club Matt - and that's a lovely looking 'Vert you have there mate..... ......good luck with the sale - and in your quest for a twin turbo..... You know you want one more than a Skyline.......:whistling: Thanks for your support!! Richard:cool3:
  9. Another top tip!! Thanks for sharing that Jeff..... Richard:cool3:

There are still a few EA members mate - including our very own moderator extraordinaire; Steams!! It would be good to get a new REO on board for your region to help drum up interest for meets etc; no-one has sadly shown interest since AlanZ stood down some time ago. Hopefully with spring just around the corner, the whole car meet scene should start to pick up.... .....I am actually heading up to norfolk for a short holiday at the end of the month myself - although I might not be able to wrangle attending a ZX meet past Julia...LOL Richard:cool3:
  11. Me likey!!! Richard:drool:
  12. Many happy returns Leo - have a great day mate! Richard:cool3:
  13. Happy birthday mate! Richard:cool3:
  14. Heh heh - made me laugh!!! Richard:lol:
  15. I am sad to say that Kim has, regretfully, decided to step down from the committee due to him not being able to dedicate his time to the role anymore. On behalf of the club and Committee, I would like to thank Kim for all his efforts over the years; and for giving so much of his free time to the club. Who can forget his hard work in making many a JAE so successful for us. I would also personally like to thank Kim for bringing me onto The Committee; and I ask all of you to join me in wishing Kim all the very best for the future. Regards Richard For The Committee
  16. Hi Jason, welcome to the club and thanks for your interest..... .....we do try to get together at a pub called The Red Lyon in Hurley (just off the A404 between Marlow and Henley on Thames) every so often. So hopefully now spring is on its way, we can drum up a bit more interest... Richard:cool3:
  17. Cheers Mark, Although as I don't use my ZX very much, I'll take that chance!! The sound is fine for my needs - and the cost of a new head unit is peanuts TBH; especially as the one in my old red ZX did not go wrong... Plus there's always something newer and better that comes along every few years....:whistling: Yup - agreed Mike; and good see you online too mate. Hope all's well with you!! Richard:cool3:
  18. Many happy returns mate! Richard:cool3:
  19. Really? I'm no techie myself - but I always thought that an amplifier did just that; ie it amplifies the input by a factor of x to increase the output; rather than just giving a specific output... .....I did what Gio says in his post above on both of my ZXs; I currently have a Kenwood DAB unit which puts out in the region of 50 watts per channel (can't remember the exact spec) and I wired in the live feed for the stock rear amp. The sound from the rear is so much louder than from the front with the fader on "zero" that I have to set it with bias to the front to even out the sound. Which would suggest that output to the rear channels has been amplified; thus making it louder then the front... If that makes sense? Richard:confused1:
  20. I agree with the above mate..... ....better safe than sorry! Richard:sad:
  21. Hello and welcome to the club!! Richard:cool3:
  22. Hi Mate, I guess you have now identified your wheel vibe problem following on from your other thread. TBH I'd not bother with second hand calipers myself; as you could well get the same problem in a few month time. Been there and done that!! So if you don't fancy rebuilding your own calipers - or going the whole upgrade hog like Paul suggests, then your best bet is to buy a set of refurbed calipers on an exchange basis. 300zx brakes are actually very good when they work properly (which by now, most probably don't as age and the car's weight take their toll). Big Redd is a good bet; and so are these places http://www.brakesint.co.uk/ http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/index.html And be prepared to replace the discs too - as the seized caliper could have caused yours to warp. Mine did just that - damn shame as Jeff had only replaced my discs and pads with his upgrade kit 5000 miles earlier  Richard:cool3:
  23. You were born in 1956 Andrew....? Hell, apart from the grey hair you have faired well my friend!! I'd have put you a few years younger - perhaps around the 50 mark mate..... Richard:wink:
  24. You're welcome mate - and whilst there's nothing liker personal experience, we all have to remember that we have different tastes!! Trip advisor is good, but everyone is a critic and either loves or hates a place; there are no "mediocre" reviews!! I'm sure I could have thought of a few more places to visit (and avoid - LOL!!) but my mind's a blank right now. If you need any further suggestions I'm happy to help..... But we do have a few Cornish members on here (johnlowdnes for one) so I'd say they are even better qualified to help you out! Still, I love Cornwall myself and hope to move there before I'm too old to enjoy it! And despite what you may hear about some roads, I often take the ZX down and have had no issues.... Except getting off the chain ferry at Fowey in January. Hell, that was a scrape (literally) at low tide!!! Richard:cool3:
