  1. Hi mate, I love the north coast of Cornwall (except for Newquay that is - LOL) and we get down there at least twice a year. We always stay in the same hotel though - 1. because we have friends 5 miles down the road in Camelford and - 2. because the road network is pretty good, we can still get to most places within an hour or so from there.... So I can thoroughly recommend The Wellington Hotel in Boscastle! And as for places to visit.... forget The Eden Project - I went back in 2000 and thought it was disappointing so never went back! St Mawes - lovely little place. Depending on where you approach from, it might be best to park in Falmouth and get the foot passenger ferry across... (or from just outside Truro, get the King Harry car ferry; near Trelissic Gardens) The Tortoise Garden in Lower Sticker (Nr St Austell) - off the beaten track, but well worth the visit! Chapel Porth beach near St Agness - superb! And there's a lovely cliff-top walk along the coast path past the old mines and engine houses Godrevey - on the eastern side of St Ives Bay; not only is the beach there nice; but if you head east along the cliffs, you can see colonies of seals basking on the (inaccessible) beach below! Tintagel - the village itself is a bit tacky and (IMO) getting run-down; but the castle is a fantastic place to visit. And again, the cliff path walks are breathtaking... Bude - OK seaside town; but the area near the old canal is rather nice. Plus the Bude Castle Museum is quite interesting - and has a rosette winning restaurant, so very good for lunch! Boscastle itself is a pretty little village; and the harbour is (for me personally) one of my favourite places in England. Plus the Museum of Witchcraft is fascinating! Kynance Cove is very nice; Glendurgan Gardens are lovely - and you can follow the path right down to Durgan Beach, near Mawnan Smith. I have a soft spot for some of the prehistoric sites - The Men an Tol stones; Trethevy Quoit; Carn Euney and The Hurlers. All atmospheric.... St Michael's Mount - beautiful; a jewel of the coast near Marazion..... And as for pretty, traditional fishing villages; there's Mousehole, Polperro, Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame), Port Gavern, Coverack to name but a few.... ...and if I can think of any more places I'll post them up! Richard:cool3:
  2. Hi Andrew, Happy birthday mate - I hope you have a good day!! Richard :happybday:
  3. Many happy returns Mick! Richard:cool3:
  4. Good call Mandy - that's what I'd try first as it could work out a lot cheaper than going to a body shop.... .....and Rich, I'm sorry to see that mate. There's no need for that kind of mindless vandalism - shame you didn't catch the little scrote in the act:death: Richard:sad:
  5. I know what you mean there Allan - and it is a sad indictment of today's society that even when people are out socialising, they cannot keep away from FB, Twitter etc. It's just fooking rude TBH; and it makes me want to snatch the phone off them and (a) drop it in their pint or (b) shove it up their arse!!! Richard:taz:
  6. You could have a point Allan - lots of people use their smartphones for surfing the web now.... And let's be honest, whilst it is useful to be able to do it on the move, it's pretty crap if you want to post anything!! Give me a good old fashioned PC to surf the 'net anytime!! Richard:detective:
  7. Dead right Gary..... .....and I'm right with you on how to spend the ideal Sunday Alan; as I usually like to take the ZX out for a nice run!! Although today we didn't actually venture very far.... I went to Halfords to top up on car cleaning bits, then went for a walk through the forest, finishing up at the pub. As neither of us had to drive, we had a wee beer then a nice bottle of red to accompany roast venison for lunch!! Sweet.... Richard:cool3:
  8. Another hard lesson learned - thanks again for the tech thread Jeff!! Richard:cool3:
  9. Good luck for next Saturday Gaz..... ....And a good idea for the future; I'd do that if I didn't have a UK spec car! Richard:cool3:
  10. My thoughts too mate..... ...I had a similar problem last year; sometimes I'd get wheel vibe and others it was fine. Turned out to be a sticking front caliper - sticking intermittantly - until it finally seized altogether! Sounds like you could be having the same problem - and when you stopped, your braking action "unstuck" it, hence it stopped shaking when you pulled off again. Richard:cool3:
  11. Lovely looking UK spec you have there Gray..... ....me too; Azev As if I'm not mistaken...!! Perfect on a 300zx.... Richard:cool3:
  12. Thread starter plus mods and committee Andy...!! We see all.....:shifty: Richard:tongue:
  13. No... It all looks nice and legal Gary...... .....now that you have done those....:whistling:
  14. Heh heh - maybe Gaz; but just about any Honda (bar the NSX) has a certain "care home" appeal about it.... And what makes me laugh even more, is that Honda has been trying to ditch the "old giffer" image for years - yet their current radio advert STILL features the voice of that American chap who sounds like he's 110 years old if he's a day.... Richard:whistling:
  15. Agreed - it does look tidy..... .....but (and I know I'll get some stick for saying this) the minimum age you need to be for driving one of those is about 97.....:whistling: On the up side, leather is "wipe clean" so if the previous owner was incontinent it should not smell too badly of wee inside!! Richard:detective:
  16. Many happy returns Patrick!! Richard:happybday:
  17. Sorry to hear of your brother's woes Steve.... .....I'm pleased he is OK - although if he was hit at about 45mph, then I doubt the ZX will live on sadly. Also an impact like that will see him sore in the morning mate; I hope he doesn't suffer. Richard:sad:
  18. ...This fella is incredible!!! Richard:cool3:
  19. I know mate - sad though.... Still back on topic, here's another great (covered) song... Richard:cool3:
  20. Yup - I remember that too.... .....I just love the Metallica version though - although I have edited the link as some might find the official video a bit distressing! I didn't watch it all the way through before posting.. Richard:cool3:
  21. I thought I'd share one of my favourite songs of the moment....... Richard
  22. Yup - ditto.... .....I have the Tiff Needel DVD somewhere too; I think it was BeeGee Vinz who burned a copy off for me a few years back! Richard:cool3:
  23. Oooh - sorry to hear that Mandy:sad: I used to try and get the Z done a month before the MOT expires (just in case), but for the last couple of years I have left it until the last day or so. Mainly because I forget and have it in mind that it's due at the end of March - LOL.... ......but so far I have been fortunate and it's breezed though!! So this year I got a bit complacent - but luckily I had nothing to worry about..... Richard:clover:
  24. Heh heh - very good Bri....
  25. Agreed!! And good luck with it Andy....:thumbup1:
