I collected my Z from Jeff's today after having a few niggles sorted.... The a/c needed regassing and the electric fan was not operating - but Jeff discovered the two faults were related. Basically as the electric fan was not cutting in, the a/c gas overheated and expanded, popping the rear seal on the compressor. Hence the gas all leaked out! So one replacement fan unit and compressor, followed by a re-gas and all is well..... .....Jeff also re-applied the underseal for me, fitted my new oil pressure sender (thanks Yewcheck) and sorted the lazy central locking on the passenger door. Thank you Jeff - you're a star. And thank you Lynda for the tea - it was good talking with you both today also!! Richard:clap:

...And following on from my post above, maybe you have now over-filled the sump with oil! Jeff knoes these cars inside out - and would have filled it with exactly the right amount of oil needed. So if you have over-filled it, that would cause smoke mate.... Richard:yinyang:

That's what I was thinking also..... ......give it a fair few miles of driving; then if the smoke does not cease your replacement engine could be suspect. Also, are you sure you are losing oil? The oil takes a long time to drain back into the sump on these cars - and after an oil change, the oil looks clean for ever it would seem. Which makes it difficult to actually read the dipstick... Plus Gaz lives in Ireland - not exactly easy or cheap to get to Birmingham often....:wink:

Zeddy is home safe and sound - despite the monsoon-like conditions on the M40 this afternoon!!! Thanks Jeff, for all your hard work on the car mate. The a/c is indeed icey cold and it's nice to see the oil pressure gauge working properly once more!!! Richard:thumbup1:
