  1. I don't think it will do any harm taking the ATF away from the rad; I suspect it does not take too long for the ATF to reach operating temperature anyway:wink: On the upgrade to UK spec cooling, I believe that you buy a new, bigger, oil cooler for the engine oil - and then route the ATF through the current engine oil cooler already present on the J-spec car. After giving it a good clean out of course!! The Zed Centre used to sell the upgrade (not cheap); but TBH you're better off speaking to JeffTT about a second hand kit - or Mike at MJP for new. Richard:thumbup1:
  2. You're welcome mate:wink:
  3. Sadly not mate - you need to be a subbed member to sell on the forum. Please see here on how to upgrade your memebrship when/if you would like to sell anything in future.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?132930-Club-Subscription-Benefits&p=1320745&viewfull=1#post1320745 Cheers! Richard
  4. Sadly it sounds like your auto box has cooked itself. As said above, you could try an oil change and filter clean/change; but TBH if the fliud smells burnt it's not a good sign. A good rebuild from a specialists will cost you around £1400 - I had it done on my old red ZX by a very knowledgable and reputable auto-box company; not cheap at £1200 plus VAT all in!! But it did come with a no quibble guarantee for peace of mind. A second hand auto box will cost you around £200-300; plus a bit for fitting. But you have no idea as to the state of that one either and it could go bad again in a few months. And TBH the same goes for a manual conversion too mate - don't think for a minute that you're guaranteed a manual 'box in 100% god condition either! That could also be 20 years old and suffered from 300bhp being put through it for 000s of miles..... Full manual conversion kits do come up for sale though; and I've seen them go from between £300-600 on here. Again, if you can't (or don't want to) do the work yourself you need to factor in the labour. IIRC Zedworld charges about £1500 all in - which includes a brand new OEM clutch. If you do decide on the cheaper option of replacing he auto box, make sure you extend its life by upgrading to the UK spec oil cooling system! Good luck mate; and sorry to hear of your woes:sad: Richard:thumbup1:
  5. Can't say I do Allan.... .....And it'd be a pretty rare 300zx being on an M plate if it was one of us!! Richard:yinyang:
  6. It should not be too hard to find mate - JeffTT should always be able to supply one if you ask him! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. Actually Gaz - you have a bit of a point there mate. Although personally I find it's the young female drivers (say under 25 years) who are among the worst on the road. Whenever I see someone on the phone or texting at the wheel, 99% of the time it is a young female driver. And whilst statistics say that young men drive faster, it's the young women who speed around shopping centre car parks at 30mph; not thinking that someone could be reversing from a bay - or walking across the car park.... They are pretty agressive drivers too - funny when they tailgate me through town when I'm doing 30; but get to the open roads outside the villages and they're nowhere to be seen.... Other than that, white van drivers, Audi drivers, BMW drivers, Merc drivers, Volvo drivers, MPV drivers..... Everyone but me in fact.... Richard:thumbup1:
  8. It looks familiar..... ....but that might just be because someone has posted that car for sale previously. Sorry mate, I don't know! Richard:yinyang:
  9. Great result Ian - 500 horses is no mean feat matey!!! Richard:hyper:
  10. Welcome to the club Adam - and that's some good advice above mate!! Good luck in your search for a nice ZX.... Richard:thumbup1:
  11. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:happybday:
  12. Same here mate..... ....Something to do with holiday time for me. Whilst the rest of the country takes time off in July and August, I wait until September when the schools go back. It's quieter; and a nice time of year to enjoy!! Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Aren't you half Japanese Gaz - I vaguely remember you saying something like that a while back? If so, do you have family out there you could visit? Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Me too - I'm glad the fooker got his just deserts mate!! Richard:clap:
  15. Did it involve 17 year old girls though mate..... .....And family members do not count.... Richard:yinyang:
  16. Well people, we have reached the longest day of 2013 - it's all down hill from here until December now... But happy Summer Solstice to everyone - today is also the first official day of summer!! Richard:thumbup1:

  18. Many happy returns mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Likewise Dave... I know exactly what you mean Bri. Good manners costs nothing, so there's no excuse for not usine please or thank you in my book. The other thing which annoys me, whilst not directed at me, is people being rude to waiters/waitresses; and treating them like dirt. I hate that, waiting staff are there to to a job and, just because they are, the customers have no right to bark orders or talk down at them. I have been in the company of others at a restaurant table and gotten very embarassed by the way they spoke to a waiter/waitress. So much so, that I have thanked the staff for their service and apologised for the behaviour of my dining companion!! Rudeness is the number one of my pet hates because there is rarely any need for it:mad: Richard:yinyang:
  20. Of course it is - good spot Dean..... Better still then...!
  21. That's more like it mate - not my thing; but it is for your wife and it's better than the RX8! My sister has the same car herself and she has no trouble with space for her 8 year old in the back. Richard:thumbup1:
  22. Phew - good news mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  23. Good advice from someone in the know I'd say..... ....Forget the RX8; I certainly would mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  24. Nice one mate - and thank you for your continued support!! Richard:thumbup1:
