  1. LOL - good old fashioned banter!! Gotta love it......
  2. No worries Mikey; and TBH I forgot you were still down as REO mate!!
  3. Just natural expiry of membership after a period of non-activity mate! Anyway, it is good to see you back and we all hope everything's OK with you Mikey. We were concerned that we hadn't heard sight nor sound of you..... Richard:thumbup1:
  4. And Graham is right mate - whilst I hope I have answered yor question, please drop me an e-mail if you want to discuss it further! richardsmith at 300zx.co.uk Richard:thumbup1:
  5. Hi Mikey, Welcome back! To put it concisely, you had not been on the forum for ages and I personally e-mailed and PMd you on a number of occasions whilst the 2012 F1 comp was running; as the participants were all wanting the results updating. As I did not receive any response, I took over the competition myself and ran it to the end of the season. During that time, your subs also expired. And not only had we not heard from you, but we could not have an unsubbed moderator for such a protracted period; hence we just let your status lapse back to the default registered user mode. Me, the committee and the other mods all appreciate that we have lives off the forum; and that sometimes our personal circumstances to mean that we cannot spare the time to help run things here. It is a hobby after all and sometime it has to take second place! I hope that explaines things mate - and as said, we haven't heard anything from you either! Richard:yinyang:
  6. That's the best way - that and cross checking the chassis numbers. I think Mike at MJP can do that for you..... It has the wrong rear spoiler for a 1998 car - if it didn't have the 99-spec rear spoiler then it would at least have the slightly raised 1995+ spoiler and not the original 89-94 one. And IIRC a 1998 soec twin turbo should alao have geniune xenon headlights and they look like the normal headlights to me. It's most likely an earlier car that was given a later registration by DVLA - or if unregistered, it's about to be... Still, it looks a nice Z though but check it carefully! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. Yup - I remember it well mate!! And cool old Z...... Plus I agree about Jodie:wink: Richard:thumbup1:
  8. That's good news Allan - and about time too mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  9. Hi Stuart, Welcome to the club mate - and good luck with your 3rd ZX; I look forward to seeing the pics!! Richard:thumbup1:
  10. There's a lot of talk about "Z brakes" and how bad they are - but when the cars were new, they were regarded as excellent. And I believe it was Yowser who put up some stats comparing a new ZX (obviously taken back in the day) against a modern car with regard to braking distances; and the ZX still came out better. And I speak with a little experience here, because I have driven a "nearly new" 300zx - the Sultan of Brunei's car now owned by PhilP - I took it out myself when considering buying it. OK it is a 1991 car, but only had 11,000 miles at the time!! And I have to say, the brakes were amazing - superb feel and good initial, confidence inspiring, bite. That was compared to my previous daily drive SLK350 which was (IIRC) 3 years/30k miles old at the time - and that had very good brakes too! I currently have newly built calipers on my blue ZX - although I have a bit of a brake issue at the moment, where one appears to be dragging slightly - but there is still good initial bite and when braking from (very) high speed I am confident of stopping straight and true. And that's compared again to my current daily driver, another SLK350 which is about to turn 4 years old, has 35k miles on the clock plus the full AMG sport upgrades..... Richard:thumbup1:
  11. Well said Mark - it's a big step, but hopefully the right step hence we all wish you every success.... .....Plus no doubt Jeff will help ease you into the whole Zedworld thing. Good luck mate - and I certainly hope to be there at one or two of the events you'll be staging mate:wink: Richard:thumbup1:
  12. Nice one mate - and thanks for your support! Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Welcome to the club Josiah - and I too look forward to seeing your pics when you get he car back!! Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Yup - it does indeed look fun mate!!!
  15. LOL - brilliant Mandy!! It looks like a great day out indeed; glad you enjoyed it!!! Richard:thumbup1:
  16. Gonzo12c ~ issued with permanent ban from the club and loss of all benefits Gonzo12c has been hended a permanent ban for the following reasons: Questionable trading activities – IE selling an item which was not as described, refusing to take it back (deliberately refusing to accept the delivery, despite knowing it was being sent back) and refusing to repay the buyer. He has blatantly ripped off another member and flatly refused to rectify the situation. Bumping his “for sale” threads after being advised his selling was temporarily suspended pending investigation of point 1 above. Re-registering on the forum under an alias whilst serving a temporary ban after being warned in respect of point 2. The committee is also aware of a current sale Gonzo12c has in progress; for which he has received the money but is yet to send the item despite me e-mailing him the buyer's details, requesting he gets in touch ASAP. We are actively pursuing this matter on behalf of the member concerned. Richard For The Committee
  17. Carpe diem mate......
  18. Here's some food for thought.... ...The Government (this one, the previous one and no doubt the future governments too) has been on a crusade to reduce CO2 gas; and is taxing us to the b0ll0x in the name of reducing our carbon footprint. I have always been a global warming sceptic - even more so when, once it was proven the world was not actually heating up, "they" renamed it climate change - but! I hear today that a new study suggests that life on Earth will die in a billion years because..... ......There will be TOO LITTLE CO2 in the atmosphere!!! Yup, that's what is being said. Apparently the Sun will grow hotter as it ages (apparently common with all stars - but the global warming doom mongers always omit that fact) and as it does, greater evaporation and chemical reactions with rainwater will take away more and more carbon dioxide. And when that happens, there will not be enough CO2 for plants to photosynthesise - hence plants will not be able to survive. With the loss of plants, not only will herbivorous animals also die out, so too will the carnivores that prey on them. And let's not forget to mention the oxygen, that the plants produce through photosynthesis, which living organisms (like us) need to survive!! I realise I am (1) not a scientist; and (2) in the minority with my thoughts - since successive governments throughout the world have brainwashed the population into believing the global warming myth - but think about it for a second!! What if it's true - and I won't say I told you so in a billion years - but what if.... So for common sense, I implore the government, future governments the world over; and like minded petrol heads. Let's cease the daft policies of taxation on CO2 production; let's drive our twin turbo charged dinosaurs and, if we want, great big V8s and be proud that we are preserving life on Earth that little bit longer!!! Richard:yes:
  19. LOL - indeed Mandy!! Not to mention toast, biscuits, choccy bars...... ......Oh, and the whole minted lamb etc when you stage a Christmas bash....!!! Richard:clap:
  20. LOL - that was quite funny mate..... .....coming from an Essex man..... Richard:tongue:
  21. Yup - the joys of the internet mate..... .....In the words of the Eagles, "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave...." Richard:lol:
  22. Welcome Chris - and good luck with your new venture mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  23. Great pics Voddy - and I'm pleased it was a good event for all!! Shame I could not get along myself really.... Richard:clap:
  24. Nice one mate - and thank you for your support!! Richard:thumbup1:
  25. Congratulations Mark - I wish you all the best in your new venture mate; both from me personally and from the club, committee, moderators and members!! Richard:thumbup1:
