Agreed Valuation
Assuming this is a classic car policy with an agreed valuation clause - which from what Vig is saying, it is - then "market value" in the context of a regular policy should be irrelevant. If you stated your opinion of the car's value at the point of quotation; and then supplied evidence to corroborate your figure, they should have taken that into consideration when calculating your premium. So I would say you were within your rights to cancel your policy for a full refund - or challenge their valuation in the hope of having it revised. Again, with no extra cost in premium as you stated the value at the point of quotation. Market value for a tidy 300zx in very good condition on a classic policy should be around £5k anyway - that is what I agreed with Lancasters for mine last year (after a little negotiating). So whilst insurers do not necessarily value modifiations in assessing the car's value - a specialist or classis vehicle insurance provider should be more considerate of that. After all, an agreed value policy is just that - you mutually agree the value of the car! Good luck mate; let us know how you get on. Richard:balloon:

Car insurance - anyone else noticed it has gone down again....?
Well I called Admiral today - and it just got better!! The chap on the phone added the policies together into their multi car deal, and those prices came down a little bit..... Then I mentioned my ZX insurance was coming up for renewal in a few weeks, thinking there was not much he could do on that. But I was wrong!! Adding a third car brought the premiums down further - Merc just £225, Rav £155 and then £215 for the ZX (with mods declared of course); so all 3 cars covered for £595:hyper: I realise I could possibly have got the ZX covered for a little less (but not much - it was £254 last year), but I saved £64 on the two main cars by adding the Z to the policy!! Result!! Richard:rockon:

Non Z car challenge!
Celica GT4 is a good choice - or any Audi A3 or A4 Quattro; they did the 4x4 with a few engine choices in the range I believe...... .....or one of these...? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/606198994/volkswagen-golf-hatchback.html If you can meet the fuel bills:wink: Richard:flowers:

Hi
Hi and welcome to the club.... Sorry to hear of your woes mate; sounds like you have a waterpump failure if coolant is gushing out of it. Although it would normally gush out with the engine off too.... It's not a major job to replace for someone who knows what they are doing - and should be done as part of a 60k service with the cambelt, thermostat, little stubby water hoses. Jeff at Zedworld can do the lot in less than half a day..... Also these engines are tougher than you think; so even if it has over heated it does not by any means suggest the engine is toast. Replace the above items and it will most likely be fine! As for oil pressure, the sender unit is a common fail - and bloody expensive at £100 for the OEM one. The symptom is, normal readings when cold; but when the engine is up to temp, the needle drops to very low or zero. Again, nothing to worry about, providing the engine has no knocks or rattles when idling at full temperature; then the true oil pressure is probably fine! Don't let this ruin your experience of ZX ownership - good luck; you should find all the help you need on here! Richard:flowers:
