Happy Top Gun day......
For all you children of the 1980s, today is 30 years since Top Gun was aired...... ...So just for the hell of it, Julia and I watched the movie this evening - and what a true 1980s "feel good!" movie it is.....

Less than a month after buying my zed and I go and do this…
Ouch..... .....But fortunately it looks mostly cosmetic damage! There are some decent offers of help so far - so much so, it makes me proud to be affiliated to this club! Top work guys, that's what it's all about.... Good luck in getting your car back in shape mate, Richard:clover:

Name change?
LOL - I originally thought that too..... .....But having seen the old account was opened in 2008 and last used in 2008, I re-thought it.... I even edited my response after making the new decision. But you knew that already....:biggrin: Although I didn't know you'd already told him you couldn't.....

Name change?
Hi Chris, I have just tried to change your username, but "Chris" is actually already in use.... However as "he" signed up in 2008 and has not logged on since, I have deleted the account and will try to rename you! Fingers crossed..... Richard

Abusing members in the PM System
Exactly what Gary says...... ......Things have been quite harmonious on the forums for some time now. Granted, we get a little banter; and sometimes it's easy to take offence at the written word, because unlike in a conversation, it's hard to know "how" someone says something when typed on the forums. But generally, people do not mean to offend - I have said it before, offence is most commonly taken as opposed to given. However in the two recent cases Gary refers to, the intent is pretty obvious. Please guys and girls, the 300zx community is dwindling every year; we're united here by our love for these cars, so let's not allow things to get out of hand. Richard:cool:

Who out there, has one uk car
There is one in the Zclub - it's on a private "C" plate and was used in the Top Gear "New vs Old" challenge, where it beat the 350z. IIRC, this car was on their stand when the Zclub last did the NEC show.

300zx weekend and AGM at Coventry
This......^^ The reason we put it to a vote this year, was because the organisers of JAE decided to hike up the prices way above that of previous years. Consequently we had concerns as to whether our members would stump up the extra cash for JAE; as if they would not, it would mean our usual main event would go unattended.... Hence after the results of the vote, we decided to put on another "Coventry" and make that the club's major event. As for other events throughout the year, there are regional events organisers. It is their job, along with input from the members in their areas, to identify and organise smaller club stands at those events. Another real success in recent years has been Simply Japanese at Beaulieu. Thanks to the sterling efforts of the SW and SC REOs (I'm looking at Stephen and Si), the club has quite a big presence and it attracts members from outside those areas. If you have some ideas as to what you thing would prove a successful meet/event, then please do contact the REO for your area and see what can be done! Think Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams....

Mileage?
That's exactly my reasoning mate! The Zed lives in my garage most of the time; but Julia and I do like our trips out on Sundays - and when the weather is good, it's always nice to take the Zed.... Similarly for holidays - as much as I love my every day car, if I'm driving 250+ miles down to Cornwall, for instance, I just think bugger the fuel consumption and take the Zed... Even though the Zed is getting older, it does still seem to "like" getting regular use. In fact, I think it runs better with use - so limiting myself to just 1,000 miles PA would probably not be so good for the car!
-
Mileage?
I'm on 103,000 miles (genuine, on UK car with history, MOTs etc)..... I bought this Zed in August 2009 from PhilP, with 69,000 miles. My insurance limits me to 5k miles PA - and I like to get my money's worth:wink: But whilst I make sure I use it regularly throughout the year, it is still a second car; reserved for weekends and holidays, as I have another car for daily use. £7.5k Z32
My thoughts too..... ......Although granted, perhaps the photos don't do it justice; but my initial opinion was also that the paintwork doesn't appear too great.... However values are on the up for tidy, unmolested, cars and if the paint is good (irrespective of the how the photos look), then why not? But I do concede there are most definitely better examples out there for the money:wink:

New arrival here better than the Z32..!!!
Congratulations on the new arrival mate - all the best to you and your family....:clover: Richard:thumbup:
