  1. This sums up my feelings too. I voted "out" myself, purely on the basis of democracy. We vote for our government, they make the laws. If we don't like it, we can vote them out in 5 years. We should not have an unelected body (IE the EU) dictating to us, or over-ruling our elected government's decisions. Simples. If the EU could have been reformed to take individual countries' sovereignty into account, then I would happily have remained. However the Eurocrats in Brussels, I am afraid to say, cannot be reformed. They ride the EU gravy train, have their snouts so firmly in the EU trough (and all those other tired clichés) etc. etc. so the UK's hand was forced. We'll get over it - the UK is strong enough, we just have to have the confidence. I did not expect "Brexit" to triumph - but the closeness of the result shows the country is pretty evenly divided on the issue. Which is why we have officials and MPs to make these decisions for us!! David Cameron included this referendum in his party's election manifesto. Rightly or wrongly, his party was elected into power on (among others) this promise - so he had to stand by it. Should he have resigned? No! In fact, as PM, he should have not publically taken any side during the referendum IMO - but reassured the public that he would be there to clear up after them, whatever the result was. Onwards and upwards - whatever the future holds...:flowers:
  2. Me too..... .....And I've posted an anonymous exit poll..... No comments, no telling us how or why you voted that way; just how you ended up voting.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?185110-EU-referendum-exit-poll-!
  3. So the day for deciding our future in the EU is upon us - and will be over before the hour is up...... .....How did you vote in the end....? No comments required (we've done that); and the poll is anonymous, so you can vote in strict confidence. Just like the real thing.... Richard:cool:
  4. Nice one Gary - no surprise there, though mate....:bow:
  5. Dead right there Si....! Driving home from my parents the other Sunday - late afternoon around 4pm - I covered the journey from the M11 to J18; in and out of lanes 1 and 2 pretty much all the way at a steady 70-80mph. Most of the traffic was confined to lanes 3 and 4; all driving at 60-70mph....!! I wasn't undertaking; I was just cruising in the left two lanes as they were empty.
  6. Nowt wrong with second hand Gray - let someone else suffer the depreciation.....! ....That's my plan also - wait a couple of months and then (hopefully) snap up a well-specced 2016 SLC 43amg for a few 000's less than the new price.
  7. Most likely - but with the front 'plate then other witnesses who saw the incident from that angle, would also be able to catch the number as it drove off in their direction. It makes sense to keep number plates, front and back, so I'm not signing!
  8. I have to admit to a hankering for the same thing..... ....Although I'll probably end up with the latest v6 twin turbo, 2 seater convertible bearing those 3 memorable letters. But on the v8 front, the latest c63 AMG with the 4.0 bi-turbo is a damn good car!
  9. Not so mate! Sure, some of the new digital cameras on the M25 are active all the time; but zero tolerance is a complete myth, they are still set at "sensible" limits. When the limit is posted at 70, you will not get flashed for passing at 80. Fact! Another theory I would also disagree with. Thing is, most people will always drive at a speed they (and perhaps their car) feel comfortable at. People don't cruise at 80-90mph just because the limit is 70mph; they do it because it feels right for them. Raising the limit to 100mph will not necessarily increase overall speeds - sure you might get the odd person flouting it in a big way, but they do that anyway. However, it might make our motorways a better place to be because, I believe, it will reduce dangerous "bunching" and lane hogging. Here, because the limit is 70, Mr Safety will sit for mile upon mile in lane 2 or 3 at 68mph; just because he's obeying the limit and might want to overtake that other car doing 67mph 500 yards ahead. However in Germany, Herr Sicher is appreciative that the Porsche flying up behind him at 300 km/h wants to get past - so he moves over pretty damn sharpish! As for front number plates, sure, they are ugly. But get rid of them? Not a good idea IMO - in the event of an incident, we all need to quickly be able to identify an errant vehicle, so as to trace the car/driver at a later stage if they do not stop. Which is a more frequent occurrence than we might think!
  10. Hi Chris - welcome to the club mate! Richard:cool:
  11. Welcome back Akira - and that is still a damn fine Zed you have....
  12. Very nice Allan - good luck with your new toy matey......
  13. So far..... ......Just popped to Sainsbury's in the Zed. And stopped off for a tank of BP's finest.... Now the rain has stopped, I'm going to wash it - I have used the Zed daily for the last 3 weeks and never got the chance to clean it after returning from Cornwall last Saturday. After what must be almost 1,400 miles, it's a little bit dirty:nono: Then it will go back into the garage - and under the new dust cover I bought a few weeks ago:cool:
  14. .....And I know it's Saturday afternoon, but why not have another cover.... Richard:punk:
  15. Yup - not a bad cover either.... I have always liked Heart...
  16. Me too....... ......Or, if the newly fitted dash LEDs are too bright, that they block out the low fuel warning light; then don't bother with the low fuel warning light! You have a gauge, don't you... Low fuel warning lights are fine on modern cars, because the whole dash flashes like a Christmas tree when you get down to your last 4 gallons (yes, gallons...). But when the OEM light on a Zed is so tiny, that you can easily fail to see it in bright sunlight, why bother? The needle on the gauge tells you when it's (probably) time to re-fuel...
  17. A very good cover version, I have heard on Planet Rock a few times recently......
  18. I do like those wheels Howard....... They really suit the car...
  19. Oops - I missed this one! Many happy returns for yesterday Paul - hope you had a great day mate!
  20. Is he; I've no idea mate....?
  21. Seconded Lee.......!! But sad to hear your Zed won't be ready for the NEC this year mate. After last year, I know you were really looking forward to it... Still, it's great to know that you'll be there for the club, in person, even if not in car.... ATB Richard:cool:
  22. Give Mike at MJP a call for your OEM parts mate..... Best source on the forum and certainly a great service!
  23. Nice one Del - enjoy mate!! Richard:thumbup:
  24. Many happy returns Tony - and 65.....? You're officially a senior citizen mate!! Have a great day old chap..... Richard:happybday:
