  1. Thanks Gary - and yes; just o reiterate regarding Adrian Flux's traders' sub..... ....This year, AF has outsourced its purchasing to an third party entity called Maze Media. As a result, their renewal has been a little (ahem) protracted; since we had to quote for the sub, then wait for an official order - and finally issue a formal invoice. In previous years, it was just renewed by the click of a button.... But rest assured AF will be reinstated as a bona fide club trader imminently. Richard:cool:
  2. Nice work Jay - and great pic mate....
  3. Soooo true Jeff... However I read an interesting comment from Dr Zetsche in this month's Mercedes Enthusiast (for those who don't know, Dr Z is the CEO of Daimler-Benz and head of Mercedes cars), regarding future car production. Despite governments' and other manufacturers' (eg Volvo) comments regarding the certain death of the internal combustion engine by year x, Dr Z says that Mercedes-Benz will continue to invest in and develop petrol and diesel engines.......!! A suicide note...? Perhaps not; lest we forget that Mercedes-Benz is, and always has been, at the front of automotive technology and development. Thing is, I suspect we will still have the internal combustion engine in 20 years - but by then it will be commonplace to achieve triple figure fuel economy and single figure emissions. The oil business and the motor industry have always gone hand in hand - and probably still will for the best part of our lifetimes; as they have done in the past, they both will continue to evolve, to achieve ever-more stringent environmental targets.
  4. Simples - I'd start increasing one's agreed value based on the (albeit unsubstantiated) higher prices some cars are being offered for sale at. It won't add much to your premium; so best be safe than sorry, should the worst happen. Irrespective of whether the car is really worth it, you might end up having to pay more to replace your Zed, if it gets stolen or written off.
  5. I am of this opinion also..... ......Being an avid reader of Modern Classics magazine (wherein which Joel's car featured a couple of months back....), there are many 1990s cars slowly increasing in price. Basically due to people of a certain age deciding to relive their teenage years, by purchasing the cars of their dreams from back in the day, but could never afford.... But now they have the disposable income - and demand (in some cases) is outstripping supply; since many of the 1990s performance cars have either rusted away or been wrapped around trees.... Nonetheless, the true upward movement in price will, as Craig says, be slow - but they will rise as good examples become few and far between. I am under no illusion that a Z32 will be anyone's pension - not in the next 10 years anyway - but rise they will. Only 10 years ago you could by a very good Porsche 928s4 for around £10k - now you'd be lucky to get a rough one for that; as tidy cars could be anything from £20k to £50k!! Yes, it's a v8 Porsche, not a Datsun; but with media coverage and the current trend for investing in modern classic high performance cars, which can be purchased for reasonable money today, it's certain that all cars of this genre will only go up in value.
  6. Probably Ali - I read a couple of reports throughout the day and just took the average... Either way, I am pleased something else has emerged on that scene other then the Hennessey...
  7. .....The new word record holder..... http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/11/06/278-mph-koenigsegg-agera-rs-is-new-worlds-fastest-car.html ....And some 4 seconds faster to 249mph than the Chiron... Granted, the Chiron still has some final testing to be conducted - but that 'Segg is one hell of a fast car for sure....
  8. Interesting - thanks Chris...! So technically, one could remove the bulb from the airbag light and just get a pass with an advisory...? And don't reply mate - no need from my perspective - plus, I'd not wish for you to jeopardise your reputation by condoning such behaviour on a public interweb sight...
  9. Hi and welcome Luke....... ......And I could not agree more. In fact furthermore, I'd say we have (quite rightly) ruined that car's chance of selling at anywhere near the advertised price!! With any luck future prospective buyers will come over here and ask a few questions first too....:clover: Good luck in your search! Richard
  10. That makes perfect sense Chris.... ....And sound advice there...
  11. Yup - seconded..... .....All ready for the NEC next weekend...
  12. Many happy returns Si-Mondo....:happybday: Have a great day mate.... Richard:thumbup:
  13. Not worth it IMO..... .......I know they are supposed to give the best performance, combined with better filtering ability; but when I fitted one to my blue Zed, I felt it actually performed worse! So I just bought another universal cone for about £35 - albeit one of pretty large proportions - like the one I sold to Voddy, when I got the Apex-I; and the car ran better once more...
  14. Duly noted Si..... ......But this year, AF has appointed an agent to act on their behalf with regards to marketing, forum memberships etc etc. There has been a slight delay in their renewal process because of it - IE the agents have to follow certain procedures, obtain quotes, orders and the like. I have received the formal e-mail this week, so AF will be resubbing as a trader in the next few days! Any issues, please let one of us know... Richard
  15. I have to concur......Have a great time Graham!! ......Looks like it's down to you now Si.....
  16. Yup - all dead right..... ....UK spec cars had the aforementioned blanking insert - and no wiring harness for a third brake light. I remember having to wire in the third brake light on my red Zed from scratch - hence could not be bothered to do it again on the blue one!!
  17. New sill panels each side, some welding to the passenger seat mounts and a couple of other areas; plus a full respray in TK3...
  18. Hi and welcome John....
  19. Hi and welcome indeed - and another thank you for sharing the video....
  20. Yep - I have to agree.... .....And it's a mind-set that is slowly disappearing...
  21. Nothing today....... ....As it is no longer here... But do not fret folks, I have not parted with my senses!! I had a long day with the Zed yesterday - as I drove it up to Staffordshire and left it with Dasstech, for Darren to work his magic on the bodywork!! It's going to be a long two or three months without it, for sure; but after MDX let me down so badly, I know it will get done. And having seen Darren's work on Bobba's and Lee's cars yesterday - plus the grey Defender his lad Steve has been restoring, I know my Zed is in good hands - and will emerge looking very good indeed...:clover:
  22. Thanks for sharing that Ali - and yes, I did forget to go and buy the magazine....
  23. Sorry I could not have been there yesterday, but I had to take a little trip up to Staffordshire to drop off my Zed....... .......Where I saw yours Bob; it's going to be an absolute stunner once it's finished! Love that colour too.... Great looking Zed you have there, Chris.... Indeed they are.... Thanks for sharing folks - I will hopefully have to get along for the next one!!
