Photoshop help please....
That's just what I am thinking - they don't look bad at all; but after cleaning the Zed today, plain silver looks just right... PMSL - and at your black wheels photoshop.... But this thread has served its purpose. I got to see how they might look in black - and hear everyone else's thoughts - and it helped me reach a decision.... ......Pink wheels it is.... ....Joking - I'll be sticking with silver....

a sad thread & a warning
Evening all, On behalf of the committee, I'd like to thank Tom for taking the time to share his experiences - and I'm sure we can all agree, this thread has brought out some pretty sad revelations. I'd also like to thank Callum for being the only representative of LA Autos to come online and voice another side to the matter; albeit it is a shame that Lee hasn't stepped up to defend himself - or even reply to my e-mails. And thank you to everyone else for sharing their own similar issues. I always like to think the best in people; and that when things do go wrong, there might be mitigating circumstances. As for the club/committee's next step, we're prepared to give Lee until 5pm Sunday evening to get in touch - otherwise we will just go ahead and make our decision on his future in the club based on the evidence herein. Finally, I believe that the matter has now been sufficiently aired; and that Tom's thread has served its purpose. So to avoid it moving away from Tom's original intent, I'm closing the thread now. If anyone does have anything more to add, please do PM or e-mail any one of us. Thanks again folks, Richard

Son in law of a 300zx fairlady owner in need of some help possibly?
HI and welcome Ashley..... .....And me too!! Sounds like a great idea; that will certainly make his day - shame I am so far away...

a sad thread & a warning
Welcome back Ian - good to hear from you again! I hope you, Ian Jnr and Yvonne are well.... ....I do indeed remember this; and agree that, at the time, LA Autos was not a trader, nor was the transaction conducted on the forum. As such, the club has no business to get involved or investigate any alleged wrongdoing under those circumstances.

Hi Adam, I'm going off-topic from your brakes question - but I can answer your post-editing issue.... Your membership has lapsed; as the editing function is only activated for subbed members mate... Richard:cool:

Photoshop help please....
Thanks Si - I kind of concur, seeing as I prefer "normal" silver wheels.... I'm just thinking out loud at the moment... I was considering doing the moustache gloss black - along with the front and rear roof bars - so wondered about having the wheels painted to match.

Photoshop help please....
With my Zed's impending visit to the body-shop later this month, I am toying with a couple of small visual changes.... One being the wheels. Could someone please have a go at photo-shopping the centre spokes of my wheels to gloss black? I want to retain the polished rims though..... Thanks!

a sad thread & a warning
CJH300zx, good evening. Thank you for your comments regarding Ian - as I have said many times, there are two sides to every story. Now judging by your location; and the references from others in this thread, may I deduce you are Callum, and that you might work at LA Autos? Whilst I might appear to question you, I am only thinking that, so far, you're the only person from LA Autos to come on the forum to respond. As one of this club's committee, I am only interested in the truth; and in the best interests of all our members. So even though the reading might look grim for Lee, he remains more than welcome to come online and respond to the allegations against him. I dropped Lee an e-mail yesterday, but am yet to see a reply. In the interest of fairness, the door is still currently open! Richard

anyone eating popcorn tonight ?
Too subtle for me Jeff......!! ...... I remember "popcorn" being slang for certain under-the-counter stuff at the local video store. Surely that's not what you meant...:wink:

a sad thread & a warning
Okay folks, It's time to update everyone on the committee's take on this matter. We have been discussing the issues in the background - especially since more and more members are coming out to share their experiences. As sad as this is, and even though there may be mitigating circumstances, a good explanations etc., we have to take action to protect the interests of all members. We have decided to temporarily revoke Lee Dent's trader's status, pending the outcome of a full investigation. Lee will be reverted to a registered user, and in the interest of fairness, I'll e-mail Lee inviting him to respond to the allegations. We'll then consider all arguments and take action as necessary thereafter. It is invaluable that forums such as this share information - good or bad - so please, do continue to comment; however let's refrain from getting personal or deviating from the facts. And if anyone has something to say, but does not want to go public, please feel free to PM or e-mail any one of the committee. Thanks folks, Richard

a sad thread & a warning
Thanks for bringing your issues out into the open Tom; I am always sad to hear things like this..... ....And Gary is absolutely right. Please do keep us informed of any developments - as we will indeed have to consider our own actions, being that Lee is an official trader on here. And I too hope you stick around Tom. We're all part of an ever-dwindling community; but we remain a community, united in our interest of these cars despite such issues. Richard:clover:

Big thanks to Jimmer.......
Hey Tony, I saw your car there over the weekend mate.....! Richard:cool:

Big thanks to Jimmer.......
LOL - there would have been, if the guy next door had been able to complete the work...... .....But circumstances change and unfortunately this time, it was not to be.

Big thanks to Jimmer.......
....As title - thank you Jimmer; you're a star mate.... As some might know, I have had my Zed in at the body repair/welder guy next door to Jimmer for the last two months. Long story short, the guy let me down badly; but luckily he didn't start the job, nor has it cost me any money. So last Monday, Jimmer took possession of my Zed; gave it a once-over as it had been standing for two months; fixed the miss-fire that had developed since Coventry and made sure it was clean and ready for collection. Jimmer then very kindly collected me from Bristol Parkway station yesterday morning. It was great to get the Zed back; and thanks to Jimmer's magic touch, it is once again running faultlessly.... And for all his efforts, Jimmer did not charge me a penny!! As for the body repairs, I now have the car booked in at Dasstech on 28th October.... But once again, a big thank you to Jimmer for sorting everything out.....

NEC 2017 poll - vote for our exhibitors
Well, as I said nothing yesterday evening, on behalf of the committee and club; congratulations to Simon and Joel on being the members' choices to represent us at the NEC.... ....Well done guys; I know you'll do us proud!! To add my personal comments, I am also pleased that we had some great cars in the line-up. I certainly appreciate some of the comments too - indeed ZX-TT's car is without doubt, one of the nicest modified example's we have. And IanL did us proud last year; having his convertible on the stand. This is another great opportunity for us as a small car club, to show off at one of the greatest classic car shows there is. Hell, if we had secured a stand for half a dozen cars, then it would have been great to have more variety on display. This year though, we only secured our stand at the last minute - four months after the official announcements were made. So thanks to everyone for volunteering; and I shall look forward to joining our stand next month. And I'm already thinking about next year; hopefully we can secure a larger stand - and then in 2019, we might go all out for the 30th anniversary of the Z32 and 20th anniversary of the club...
