  1. Nope - not a thing here.....!
  2. Well said! Cars nowadays are far more reliable - they'll cover 150k - 200k miles plus without issue - so buying a new one every three years, just because you get the new reg plate, is daft. I'd only replace a car if and when I fancied something else.... Or as I did with my latest daily drive, because I was tempted by the updated, better specced model - and I managed to negotiate a 20% discount off the list price, even after adding £4k worth of options!! I have just clocked 10k miles in 17 months - so will most likely keep this one for at least 5 years. I want to get my money's worth...
  3. LOL - so true..... .....I'd watch it all day....
  4. Nope.... Not until we've seen the pictures.....
  5. Great pics Tom - thanks for sharing mate...
  6. Hi and welcome to the club Andy - and good luck with your new toy!! Richard:thumbup:
  7. Anyone going (or been) to the London Classic Motor Show at Excel this year....? I went today - and thought it was a great day out - I shall get some pics up over the weekend.....
  8. Hi Johny - thanks for your support mate! You should get an e-mail to say your sub is due - but we may not have your latest e-mail address. You can check it in your own profile, but if you're not sure how, just PM me your e-mail address and I'll update it for you. KR Richard
  9. Cheers Graham! Hope you and Julie are well mate...
  10. I agree Steve.... ......I was chatting to the owner of one at the NEC back in 2016 - and considering he had a £1m classic on his hands, he was a miserable git.... Perhaps that's the reason..
  11. No, you're right - there has been an additional showroom tax, or first year road fund licence, for years now. And as Ian says, this won't be applied retrospectively either - it's for new registrations onwards. There's now also a supplement for cars with a new list price of over £40k - which applies each year for the first five years, then the RFL reverts back to £140. For cars registered in 2016 or before, everything remains the same.
  12. Very nice - and the going rate seems to be a cool £1m at the moment....
  13. A good point indeed, which is why this is only a trial. We certainly have to be careful how this might work out. And si is dead right. He did not once ask for this; and in no way did we think he would run away with anyone's money. Simon's integrity was never in doubt as far as I am concerned. However I always wanted him to return as a trader, not because of securing a subscription, but because it would benefit our members. It certainly goes to show how our members will rally round in support, when they care so passionately about something!
  14. Thanks everyone - and I love the cards....
  15. Many happy returns Jimmer - hope you have a great day mate....:happybday: Richard:thumbup:

  18. LOL - but yes!! Good to see some old fashioned banter again - and all given/taken in fine spirit...
  19. Hey Paul, Good news on the MOT mate! As for tyres - you'll no doubt receive lots of recommendations. I am a fan of Goodyear F1 and Conti Sport Contact 5 - the F1s have never given me trouble - and the AMG comes with the Contis as OEM fitment. Had both on the Zed too and they were damn good. However, I never thought I'd say it, but the Avon ZZ5 is actually very good and doesn't cost the earth. I bought a set for my Zed a while ago and they have done pretty well. After my previous experience with Avon ZZ3s when I bought my first Zed, I vowed never to go near Avons again. But I was wrong - I tried the ZZ5 because I'd heard good reports - and then I saw the price. I would have binned them if they were rubbish, but I am still impressed. The tread pattern is similar to the Contis and F1s - and they have a cool "Z" pattern around the outer edge...
  20. Hi and welcome to the club.... Richard:cool:
  21. Give Mike Feeney a call..... .....If not, the usual US suppliers will have one. Postage won't be too much for that either.
  22. LOL - but the AGM is in the summer guys.... But seriously, as these cars get more rare - and considering the work being done, I think I will re-evaluate my winter use. I will probably still take it out over the winter - but only on those clear, dry days when the roads aren't salted. Joel still takes his out occasionally in winter - and the Zed doesn't like being left unused for long periods of time - so as long as I don't use it in poor conditions, it should be fine...... Maybe....
  23. If we're talking Steve Burns..... Then YES....
