  1. Nope.... Well, not from me anyway! Like Andrew says, I don't have to regularly top up my coolant either - even with an aftermarket radiator; in my case, a Mishimoto. Just as you both say the secret is in the radiator cap - which arguably is the weakest link in the system - and is often overlooked! Even OEM Nissan ones have, on occasion, been faulty from point of supply. I know - I bought a brand new one from Nissan a few years back and suffered from coolant loss... Replacing it with another cured the problem!!
  2. Good luck mate - I know I could not have done that myself...…
  3. Nice work Russ - and interesting that you leave the interior in place!! Mine came out (well the seats did; and the carpet was folded right back) whilst the welding was going on.
  4. RIP Windsor.... I fondly remember watching It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Never The Twain as a child.....
  5. I know!! And £178 for the ABS pump....? I bought one from Banzai Breakers for £40....
  6. Yup - you're probably right JP. I am just a little pissed that I didn't get my car back in the spring; and would have been able to sort without issue at the time. But no, I had to go and order the wheels; which have been sitting in my hallway since May... I'll just to order up some non-bolt-on hub-centric spacers. I'll call the wheel supplier though, they may be kind enough to help out:wink: Cheers folks:clover:
  7. They do suit that Car JP - I like a nice Euro spec TK3 zed....:biggrin:
  8. I had the conversation about custom drilling - and then confirmed in writing the offsets, PCD and "custom-drilled for a Nissan 300zx." I didn't mention the 66.1mm centre bore specifically - however one would think that a professional wheel supplier would have a duty to check these things and revert back to the customer, if they did not know!! I don't think that bolt-on spacers are an easy option though. The wheel mounting face does not have recesses drilled into it, to accommodate the spacer retaining nuts!
  9. Thanks Pete - just like Andrew, you have confirmed what I was thinking.....!
  10. Hi Andrew, They are tapered from 81mm to 72mm - spigot rings are 72mm. And yes, you have confirmed my thoughts mate!! Richard
  11. It's c70+ mm - but they came with spigot rings to reduce the gap to the requisite 66.1mm
  12. Thought so JP - and weren't they your old wheels from the grey car...? NICE.....:thumbup: And any excuse for a photo opportunity....
  13. Cheers matey..... however there is an issue! Whilst the sizes and offsets should work (8.5x18 et35 front and 9.5x18 et40 rear) the flat spokes mean that the fronts won't quite clear the brakes!! Craig very kindly sent me a pair of 5mm spacers (thanks mate - most appreciated); but I still have concerns that I'll get wheel wobble at high speed, using them. The wheels came with spigots as the centre bore is larger than 66.1; which means they were not, "custom drilled" for a 300zx, as I originally ordered. So do I have an argument for a free replacement, even though they arrived back in May? Or do I suck it in and go with the spacers.... And for just 5mm, should I bother with the longer studs.....?? The rears, fortunately, do clear the brakes and (just) the HICAS arm and - although another couple of mm would not go a miss - they will sit nicely in the lowered arches. Decisions decisions....
  14. LOL - and I guess it would not be outside in the snow nowadays, either mate....
  15. Hi folks, Just a quickie - to save me removing a wheel and measuring, or digging out spigot rings - can someone please tell me the diameter of the hub centre bore, which the OEM wheel would mount on? I had in my head a smaller measurement of 59.4mm - but I remember reading 66.1mm somewhere too!! Richard
  16. LOL - but that's not a recent pic of your Zed, though is it mate....:wink:
  17. The raised outer section should be at the top - but that is all I know as my own one is now secured by four self-tapping screws into the bumper. It's probably been on and off a few times in 25 years, so the original fittings have long since gone!!
  18. LOL - it did snow here in Great Missenden today! I was at work in Uxbridge though, so missed it; but when I got home this evening, my neighbour's car still had snow on it:wink:
  19. PMSL - anything is possible in a white van.....:biggrin:
  20. Happy birthday Dave - have a great day mate!! Richard:happybday:
  21. LOL - two for the price of one..... Happy birthday Howard and Gary; hope you each have a great day fellas....:happybday: Richard:thumbup:
  22. There you go - the voice of the Zed-guru.... Thanks Jimmer!
  23. Cool - always been a model railway fan; but I left my old layout at my parents' house back in the mid-90s as it was too big to take when I left home..... And I've never had the time or space to build another since  It's something I would like to pick up again in about 5 years, I reckon....
  24. Very nice Chris - much better IMO....
  25. Sorry to hear that mate! If the engine was only rebuilt 3000km ago, then one would have thought that the oil pump would have been subjected to a refurb as well..... Apart from observing the run-in period, was the oil changed shortly after - for a decent grade/quality? And for that matter, was the oil maintained at the proper level during run-in as well? With barely 4 litres in the sump, these engines cannot afford to run too low on oil, especially if any "enthusiastic" cornering is involved, as it can result in oil starvation!!
