what brake discs are best
Dunno mate, apart from the obvious a scorching hot disc being cooled down far too quick by going through water or summit, it can just be a flaw in the manufacturing process, not uncommon for any disc manufacturer to be honest. Got a guy here on the island who's cracked 2 pairs of Rota discs on his GTO and another guy with AP Racing 6 pot kit on his Supra and the disc fooked after just 1 trackday when they were 3 months old ! I sell DBA simply cos I can't find nowt negative on the internet about them and Skyliners in the UK and Aus use them alot both street and tracking. You'll be fine mate :) cheers smithy

what brake discs are best
Whilst that was bad for him it certianly doesn't put me off selling them, todate over 250 pairs sold by me and deffo the 1ST time i've heard on ANY forum a DBA disc cracking ever! hence why you bought some yerself  the good reputation they have. Zulley in answer to yer question on what brake DISCS, feel fre bud to have a look at the link for brakes in my sig. Great reputation for both quality and what they are meant to do, stop ! and that applies to both brands I do. :) cheers smithy

I can do either :) However at this point i feel i must do the gentlemanly thing, I see fairladyzgirl has her name down and like me she's on her billy  therefore I think i should drive over, pick her up and we can then share a hotel room to save on costs ( seperate beds of course :p ) then drop her back next day before I fly back, now ain't that a good idea :D :D cheers smithy

Oil in air intake
Modifying the engine can in most cases increase the crankcase pressure in the system, the valves will only do so much and then they tend to clog up. It's worth removing one or both and giving a little shake, no rattle ? then they are clogged up again, which in turn tends to suggest what i said above. Am sure there are other causes of crancase pressure build up too. Being quite new if they are clogged, an airline "may" clear em enough to test my theory. 3 options really if that is the case, 1) the ole catch can which todate i have not seen a 100% version off that no ones slated or 2) Nissan used different valves in different engines, some allowed more pressure than others, i do have the part number for valves which are higher flowing than Z33 ones, which i would expect to be higher flowing than ours which you could try giving their minimal cost and finally 3) if it is crankcase pressure, erm time to strip her down........... hope that helps cheers smithy

Oil in air intake
I doubt if the turbo seal is gone that you would hav eoil on the intake side. How many miles ago did you change the valves and is the engine modified ? smithy

few questions (random)
1, sorry i dunno, i never get that involved in an engine, lol 2. Elec Sub fan is used when engine detects problems and if viscous can't cope. 3. Yes, though some will disagree, usually those who ain't done it ! 4. Yes and just leave the belt off. cheers smithy

brembo brake upgrade
Yer not mate cos the threads about brembo calipers more than anything else ;) At the end of the day though i would happily supply whatever am asked if possible. Reason I don't offer the DS2500 or DS3000 range is simple, they cost approx 50% more than P/F, they "Can" chuck dust off worse than yer grandads dandruff and in a lot of cases squeal. That said as you know it often comes down to Disc/Pad combo to achieve the best of both. I currently run the DS2500 cos they came with my KAD 6 pot kit and i am sick to death of washing the polished rims on me wheels and yes they squeal when warm to hot, so soon i hope to fit P/F in their place ;) Now the reason i stick with P/F is after using them for years before owning a Zed as SE Nisstek always used them, i found them to be really good, but too expensive ( from them) I now sell these pads around 30 quid cheaper than they did 5 years ago  I had a couple of guys on the sxoc forum who are very big into trackdays in a serious way that they wipe out pads in one day! The P/F equalled the DS range on the fronts, but remained cleaner and 40 quid cheaper and on the rears the P/F beat all other pads used. In total they used 4 different brands. Considering I know of only one other company in the UK who officially import P/F and I myself only supply to Nissan owners, over 150 sets sold on sxoc and 250 odd sets to Zedders/Skyliners, feedback is great and am a happy chappie ;) So to close I will say yep, DS2500 "can" be better than P/F, but for the amount and the other downsides, the costs don't warrant it. IMO of course :D cheers smithy

brembo brake upgrade
Hi mate, in answer as asked, 33 and 34 no difference except caliper colour and yes the mounting holes are bigger on 34, so for a straight swap, 33's go right on, BUT bear in mind 34's will be newer. Rears, am not a 100% on this but am sure rear brembos go with rear GTR discs which i think are 310mm whereas ours are 296mm, couple peeps here have done the rears so am sure one will post up for yer. As for discs and pads, am happy to quote for DBA discs which many Skyliners use and certainly 100's of em out in Aus, can match these up with porterfeild pads for you as well. hope that helps ;) smithy

Best brake upgrade
Have you any brake or carb cleaner to give them a wipe down with bud ? Cos generally discs are often fitted by garages, they expect them to have some lying around to wipe them down with. cheers smithy

uk zeds
Mine a 1990 UK spec, it did have the blisters on the rear arch, now completly replaced with a new panel. Rear quarter sills also rotted and replaced with new sections ( 4 in total per side) It's worth noting that the rear drain pipe from targas has a small length of steel tube attached to it which pops out of the rear under sill, it is VERY likely yours could be rotted, if so it shortens the drain tube so that it sits inside the sill box and fills up nicely with water.! Those with side skirts will only know the rear sills section is fooked by putting up on a ramp and close inspection, in my case what looked like a very small hole an inch around, was actually 4 times as big once the skirts were off  I've seen 3 zeds now where this was not spotted and the rot has travelled into the rear floor pan and the cars were scrapped, so deffo check that area out asap chaps ;) smithy

rltc or sus?
As Greg says mate, go with the traction control with you being an auto, pretty much every winter we hear someone in an auto has lost it on a bend or roundabout during kickdown. You can always get suspension mods later on down the line ;) smithy

Best brake upgrade
Aye thats cos it's 2 piece performance discs and everything else to go with it. You could of course just go with decent pads/discs and fluid and pay around half that ;) Bigger usually means more dosh bud :p cheers smithy

Best brake upgrade
To go behind Stock mate the biggest you can go is 310mm and that kinda just makes it. Can do yer a 2 piece grooved disc/bell, brackets, new fluid and pads for £495. Other than that some decent discs, pads and new fluid does work alot better than stock, feel free to check out the options in my brakes link. cheers smithy
