350Z Brakes
Assuming you mean the Brembo Gold ones,(fronts) then yes they are straight on with just drilling your hub holes out to 14mm instead of 12mm, you also need the bolts that come with them or buy new. Rears I believe is a different story, I think Andyp has fitted the rears. smithy

apexi boost controller can anyone help me
Hi mate it was quite some time ago i used either DP or RC, however as long as the AVC-R is in the car and working in a fashion, then 40 bucks should see it done, it don't take em long, however am sure they can advise over the phone, just make sure you state it is already fitted and working. http://www.rcdevelopments.com/portal/ 01925 445174 DP Motorsport As for the valves an hoses, mike feeney of MJP in the traders section is best for these and usually carries stock mate. cheers smithy

Anyone know if these are worth it.
No problemo mate :) EBC ain't too bad a disc in general terms, however as the the braking performance increases with the more sportier/faster cars like the GTR, EBC's standard remains the same throught the range. On lesser powered cars they kinda do the job :) DBA do a number of ranges depending upon the braking requirement and the punishement you put the brakes through, for the GTR they start at the 4000 series which is the 2nd to the top of the range they do. Performance friction are very similar in this manner too. Better grades for higher powered cars in short fella. cheers smithy

Anyone know if these are worth it.
Hi mate P/F brakes are extremely good, never heard any negative issues on them whatso ever, however downside is their prices as you can see. DBA on the GTR and Skyline forum are highly rated and sold by RB motorsport, Risingsun performance both skyline tuners, off the top of my head without looking, Danny should be able to do the DBA 4000 series wiperslots with thermo strips for £300 odd quid a pair and you'll be happy with them mate :) any queries just ask bud cheers smithy

apexi boost controller can anyone help me
TBH mate seeing as yer in the Northwest, when yer happy your running what chip etc you want, pop along to either RC developments or DP Motorsport both in Warrington and have them do it, i did that and it was done in like 30mins with no messing, once done, i ain't touched it. These guys intsall and set up AVC-R's all the time so know how to do it properly. smithy

Cheap intercooler anyone seen this
Yes having a KOYO will help some, but bear in mind the whole process of cold air being forced into the Rad is gone when a FMIC is fitted because it is passing through the I/C 1st, what comes out the back, is not as cold as what went in the front. Cooling is something Zeds are kinda tempermental about at the best of times :) You know I love Ebay comments like that you copied, "550bhp zed" erm how many peeps have said that about their car and been massively wrong, i think we all have wishful thinking at some point lol but on a serious side, it's how the item performs which is the most important aspect that everyone wants to know and without going on a rolling road and taking intake charge temp readings, you ain't gonna know! cheers smithy

Injector replacment, now wont start
Mark, if the electric sub fan is coming on soon as she tries to start, the engine is in a safety mode and thats prpbably the reason why she won't start. So your 100% sure that if you plug in your OLD ECU (for stock injectors) the electric sub fan comes on soon as you try to start the car ???? If it does come on, the fault lies within the sensors in the engine, if it doesn't come on, the fault lies with either the ECU itself or the Chip inside it. Oh bear in mind when you try the car on the old ECU but using 555's it will be rich as fook and maybe hard to start and if it does, will run rough, but it's the electric sub fan noise your listening out for. BTW any dash board lights staying on ? smithy

In my own personal opinion yes decent side mounts are superior to front mounts, i know many others feel the same. In the absense of a definitive test with the same car on the same day testing both front and side mount, no one will ever know a 100% for sure. Looking at the Zeds intake system which isn't the shortest around nor the straighest either you don't want to make any more restrictions. In the pic of the kit in this thread it shows 2 bends each approx 160-180 degrees, each one of these bends adds approx 7ft to the length of the intake tract, fitting side mounts adds no extra length at all. I've seen many tests on different side mounts, ARC ( the most expensive) come out tops due to their efficient cores and the altering angles of the inlets and outlets. Greddy rate highly and the Z1 Motorsport ones flow tested to be about the same, that said there are a lot options around these days. I actualy manufactured around 150 sets of pipework for the S13 FMIC using the saab coolers, longest pipe was about 18ins to turbo and the shortest about 10in with a 45 deg bend to the TB, hence why they perfromed quite well over stock. Also done in the past 8 years cooler pipe kits for Evo's, Scoobies, Pulsars and Skylines which kinda gives me some experince in the workings of Intercoolers :) Hope that helps cheers smithy

Injector replacment, now wont start
As the electric sub fan is starting to run when you try to start the car, it suggests something other than faulty connectors as the problem mate. Assume you have also just fitted a 555cc chip in the ECU or fitted a replacement ECU with a 555cc chip already fitted in it ?? A problem with this area or the temp sender sensor on the top of the water inlet pipe would cause the electric fan to come on whilst trying to start the car, the latter also dumps so much fuel in the system it floods the car! Let us know about the chip/ECU and take it from there. smithy

That's no probs Martin, your money and your engine bud and i really do wish you good luck with it. I would very strongly suggest intake charge temps testing before and after along with coolant temps too. These are what keep the engine going and if they get too high, goodnite viena, as they say.... :) Those kits are actaully produced for less than 200 quid  Autobahnn approached me a long time ago about selling them. Oh and the S13's plumbing/air design is a 1000 miles different to that of a zed :) Good luck! Cheers smithy

To be fair mate, the operative word here is "copy" and the word "HKS" is simply used for selling puposes. A couple of tuning companies now have done I/C tests on Evo's an Scoobies, both purchasing known copies of ebay as well, in tests preformed which were published showed that of the ebay copies tested (4) 3 showed no decrease in intake charge temps and the remaining improved by just 3%. The 1 main reason for these findings were poor quality and inefficient cores, though 1 kit did have badly designed pipework, bends equal very long tract lengths! Now I have not the faintest idea if the above I/C is same or not, alls I will say is, you will get exactly what you pay for as regards ebay coolers, adding of course, the average joe soap, will never know if it's actaully doing as claimed, until the bang of a piston!! smithy

engine wiring loom
As Greg says mate new ones are available in LHD form, just! However it depends on exact year and if manual or auto as all are not the same, so make sure you get the correct one. Is yours totally knackered ? or is it just the coil pack and injector connectors which are fooked which is often the case, you buy new looms for these at quite cheap money and they just splice in no probs. Hope that helps cheers smithy

SWB rear spoiler same as LWB?
I know when i sold my veilside one (LWB), it deffo is different to the SWB version. Think when I spoke to Luke about it, it comes down to the actual type as the boot widths are the same, it's the depth area from outside edge upto screen and roof line.... smithy

Water temp sensor location
Yes the gauge should come with the sender mate. You can unscrew your existing sender and try the new one in and you'll know for sure about the size, don't worry about losing water, you'll lose a couple spoon fulls if yer lucky! smithy

how do people rate these?
The RPS line of clutches are by far the most popular here and in the US mate, I personally sold well over 300 of them. Details are on the website below and danny (dta) can source for you :) cheers smithy

Rebuild finished, thank you Jimmer!
Good to see a happy ending mate :) are you able to say what went wrong that resulted in the 2nd build ? Jimmer is certainly getting a good name for himself here too which is really good to see too :) smithy

555's and rail
NOPE! You need the fitting kit to fit the new rails, dunno why they just didn't include it but it is extra. The other advantage of the kit is it designed with the intention of keeping the flow to No.6 cylinder constant which the stock rails and the 850cc border kit does not do. I've sold around 6 of these kits in different configurations and all seem very happy so far :) More details on my website if yer get stuck or for peace of mind purchase through danny (dta) you'll get exactly what you need with no messing and complete with 555cc chip to suit  smithy

cost of fitting a gearbox...
Well the average cost of doing a clutch is around the 200 quid mark, so a simple gearbox off and then back on, i'd say around 150 quid for cash, it really isn't a tech jobbie and most back street garages will easily do it. cheers smithy

tension rods
Rest assured they ain't mate ;) I only know of Powertrix and SPL who will openely state the relevant info on adjustable suspension parts in relation to exact material used, the use of Koyo sealed bearings, the offset and the max static load that can be used. That is what gives a customer peace of mind he's buying the correct item for the job in hand and consider adjustable suspenion parts are what keep your Z on the ground without failing. I won't knock the ebay ones cos i don't know who the manufacturer is and don't have a set here to compare, but based on pics alone thinking they "look upto the job", erm no thanks. Btw the comment in relation to his other hard parts he sells being quality, i can only speak in relation to to his headers and exhausts (Z32) and that is your getting exactly what you pay for and no more, that means as his prices are often cheap don't expect the performance to match the shiny appearances you see. Anyone who works with stainless and knows about different flow characteristics would spot these, but yer average joe? no! smithy

A New How Much have you Spent on your Z32?
In total god knows! this year alone and just on the OUTSIDE of the car only, over 7K  smithy
