  1. That's the idea mate, you deffo need intercoolers to reduce the intake charge temps, sooner rather than later. Enjoy what yer got for now and if the engine ever needs to come out, do yer tubs/injectors then, obviously as the engine is out, you'd be nuts not to fit forged pistons on a Zed running a bar for a period of time, so may as well allow for that. cheers smithy
  2. I've got numerous cables catching my clutch pedal and foot when i change gear, does me feckin nut in. Made worse after the alarm peeps fitted the alarm! though thats the least of my worries at the mo.... smithy
  3. Well if yer not after BIG increases, you could stay with a 4 bolt turbo ( uprated t25) with uprated actuators and be able to run more than a bar of boost, however the injectors would deffo need doing too. IMO however you only do the tubs under 2 conditions, 1) yer existing are fooked or on their way out or 2) your doing a project build for a certain amount of power. It can be an expensive exercise just to get a wee bit more power see ;) Personally when turbos go and you want more, 5 bolt turbos only cost a few hundred quid more than most reputable 4 bolt jobbies and are in place ready for when the bigger power is wanted either by yerself or the next owner. Danny can give you prices on certain turbos in both 4 bolt and 5 bolt configuration. If you have induction, exhaust, boost controller, chipped ECU or similar, decent side mounts, then you should have a pretty quick motor, obviously decatting as well increases power even further, oh a custom MAP for all this might gain you a few more horses too ;) After all the above, it's ££££ injectors/turbos etc. Hope that helps cheers smithy
  4. Of those 2, the DS2500 danny (DTA) should do em for yer for about £115-£120 Cheers smithy
  5. Danny at DTA does greddy, HKS or Z1 intercoolers mate. You can wap it up now if yer like with a boost controller, engine or tubs won't last long though ;) To run in excess of 1 bar reliably, bigger injectors and turbo's ( 5 bolt upwards) erm better intercoolers :D and if yer cash runs to it, new pistons before No.6 goes ka pow! oh and a new chip to suit as yer Blitz one won't run those mods above. smithy
  6. With the car popping it sounds more like intermittant temp sender problem. As your driving the engine vibration is breaking the connection between the sender and the plug, this will cause overfuelling to the extent the car won't run, then when the car is stationary after a few pops of fuel being burnt off, she'll start gain and seem fine for a wee while. It's worth checking by removing the sender plug, does it still hav ethe wire clip secured okay ? is there any water sitting inside ontop of the actual sender ? this causes intermittant readings. Another likely one for not as much, is the CAS connector, is the clip still secured okay, this will also cause car to die with vibration and restart when stationary and again gives of the odd pop as it dies. Personally i don't think it's owt to do with the MAF or filter as neither would actaully cause the car to die, just run crap, however next time you do remove these, actaully clean the hot wire, this sends pulsed signals to the ECU, you can with no ill effect remove the wire gauze on the TOP side of MAF and wipe clean the hot wire inside with a clean cloth sprayed in brake cleaner or similar. Oh and i couldn't be arsed with the datascan if it won't work, just do a simple ECU diagnostics or better still visit someone with a conzult to see the history of error codes. smithy
  7. When the car re started each time, was there any popping from the exhaust ? not on the morning start up though, all the others. Did you take the filter off the MAF to dry them out ? what sort of filter is it ? smithy
  8. Well I must confess, yes it's a crap summer and THIS weekend I would have happily spent at Billing even if it was overun in cow shit, compared to the 2 1/2 days i've just spent in the UK, bored senseless, getting wound up, spending a fortune for nowt and getting soaking wet! I really could have just stayed at home and been better off :D smithy
  9. Yeah sooo long ago that now bud, basically SPL used Koyo sealed bearings and Powertrix didn't, however Powertrix now do and have done so for some time, hence why I always pushed them. The main differences between the upper arms Danny now sells and others on the market, is that both SPL and Powertrix are Z32 fitemnt ONLY, they will openly disclose the material, load bearing and how constructed etc, along with using Sealed bearings instead of using grease nipples ! other companies don't list this info cos they can't and don't use sealed bearings, so yer know what to buy and where peeps :D cheers smithy
  10. Yep, this weekend for 2 days is/was Billing and the weekend after for 2 days is JAE, at the moment :p smithy
  11. TBH folks seeing as Billing has so much water around it, who ever decided to cancel given the latest weather and whats expected, probably made a good decision. So best thing is if we move on from quickly in order to make other arrangements, plenty of peeps have altered things for that weekend in order to travel and lets not forget the many that have to travel to the UK just as a starting point! It's been mentioned about a possible southside meet and Turboz has posted about going to the famous cat and fiddle pub for the north/west/midlands and anyone else who cares to travel there, personally i think it best we ALL look to attending the 2 possible venues as mentioned, or we'll all end up sat at home next weekend pissed of at missing an oppurtunity to have a couple of big meets ;) JAE numbers are down from here and those who booked this weekend off did so in favour of billing, so use the oppurtunity :p Steve, just 1 little thing, the stand or not at JAE seems confusing for some, can we can a 100% definate answer about 300zx club being there as a club or are we make our own arrangements and look for the Zclubs stand to intrude on ? cheers smithy
  12. Certainly doable for me, quite central too for the Nottingham area, Northwest and Mids peeps ;) +------------------------+ + turb0z + Graham S + Smithy
  13. Have you done any work/mods to the car just before this started to happen ? a common cause is actually an air leak which can cause engine stall. smithy
  14. What yer think about a possible meet some where half way between the midlands and the northwest, so both areas can get together. Short notice i know, but certain peeps from both areas obviously planned for a trip out and are off work etc anyways. Somewhere around say Stoke on trent possibly? I see the South boys are hoping to do summit similar ;) cheers smithy
  15. I shoule hope not, that kit is designed for 17in minimum :D As far as I know, the only size you can go upto with stock wheels is 296, as found on the r32's, however the extra 16mm will prove totaly fruitless bud, just get decent discs and pads. smithy
  16. Sod it, am off to buy a boat and join their forum, least the good ole british weather wouldn't stop their shows  smithy
  17. Must confess i've never heard of a dodgy sensor stopping the fan from working as it kinda defeats the object of it's purpose, but hey. anyways check this link below Clarkey for indepth checking of the sub fan. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/auxfan/auxfan.html cheers smithy
  18. I forgot to mention these are now manufactured, nicer and cheaper than the Coz brackets too :p See Danny at DTA Smithy
  19. Man that is one pisser  My Z is already in the UK at the bodyshop again, I fly over and collect Friday, go to Billing at weekend, then leave it at Zedworld for a few wee jobs, fly home and back the following week for JAE. So I still gotta come over either way, well I guess i'll be floating around the Midlands all weekend on me billy, any local meets instead :D smithy
  20. Clutch on it's own $125 and with a flywheel total is $210 thats via parcelforce, via courier it's $170 and $290 respectively and from memory :D However cost for returning if it fooks up, is almost double! costs loads more to send to the US that it does to receive. smithy
  21. Am running 9 in fronts and 10 in rears with T1R's all round bud :D front offset is 30 and the rear is 35 on mine, though am not a wide arse, lol cheers smithy
  22. £3200 Cash and that was discounted  That was for fitting tailgate skin, full respray including inside door, targa and tailgate openings. Should have went over to Ireland to Chewies bodyshop :D smithy
  23. Am there mate for both saturday and sunday. Am staying in Rugby the Friday nite and will happily give someone a lift there and return them sunday evening, they just gotta get somewhere near to Rugby in the 1st place :D cheers smithy
  24. Thanks for so far fellas, so in short the Teins look as if they could be much harsher than a stock feel, so anyone used any of the other brands listed ? ta smithy
  25. I've tried mate, though 99.9% certain the car will be at Billing July 14th, so who knows! laterz smithy
