300zx parts trading 2012
Don't worry mate, pretty sure you fall well out of the catergory Jeff was reffering to :thumbup1: I think it's more a case of the "secret" breaker. It's one thing someone buying a zed with every intention of repairing it to use or buying/owning one and it later seems is beyond financial repair, in short a genuine Zedder! However obtaining Zeds with the sole purpose of breaking them and i mean in the plural sense, but not letting onto the rest of our community that's the case, well they then are a secret breaker and not conforming to our own rules of the club or paying trader fees. Usually they operate out of an old shed or barn at home or nearby and use their time to break cars as a hobby. Thus looking upon the forum and it's members as nothing more than a means to an end of making money and with no real genuine interest or love of Zeds itself! That's why Jeff who offers a daily service of posting items out, tested and warranted parts, full back up with any sale and pays his fees for offering this service. Plus of course being so passionate about Zeds and being in business for some 10 years or so, it's safe to assume he ain't gonna "suddenly" do one lol cheers smithy

Jimmer is a member here who is pretty much on every day and posts alot. He repairs zeds and does top notch engine builds, you often see thankyou and praise posts for his work. Rob recently posted Jimmer done some good work for him and it would seem 5bolt downpipes were needed, which it seems Jimmer supplied. Selling parts is not what he does as far as i know. Your only real option is the US or second hand as stated previously, i've never known a UK supplier of 5 bolt versions except myself some years back and even then, mine were all from the US. You could get custom made however the costs would be fairly high. Smithy

By buying turbo's already made to fit the Zed it would just save you clocking them as well, as our turbo's are handed, which is no real biggie. Your clearly wanting to go bigger, so obviously the cost differs too, you could of course stick with a simple stage 1 upgrade as a t25 for the zed and be done with it. However if cost is really an issue mate, then best go for which ever way is the cheapest you can do it. Youv'e got plenty of info above to help you decide. smithy

Ditto, plus if they stock of an R32 then they either as old as zed ones or been renewed at some point. That's a mighty low AR though! Turbo's is something that should not be done as cheaply as possibly and fiddlying to make fit, you don't wanna be taking the engine out more than once if you can help it, unless your bored and can do it yerself like :-) smithy

Think there is if you purchase items through 300zxclub.com however only those items listed at that time. Other than that, Z1 pay to advertise their company here and that's it as far as i know. smithy

Bare in mind any body parts would be shipped in a seperate box and therefore attract it's own shipping and taxes cost, they would put only very small light weight fiddly parts in with this package at best. Assuming your getting turbo's mark, then as they weigh a bit anyways, your looking for peeps who want non heavy and non weighty items to be included, again a seperate box would be used attracting additional costs once it passed a certain point of weight and size. Also consider that your items may have a value of say $1500 whereas the other persons a couple of hundred dollars or less, so you could not go 50-50 on all the costs above the actual cost of item purchase. hth smithy

Putting TT man cams in an auto n/a?
Anything that makes the car quicker can have an effect on the fuel consumption lol As for gain, if you managed a quarter of what you hoped i'd be surprised tbh. The only place i can think that may have done it is someone on TT.NET. You could ask there, but I doubt the responce would really differ from here. You've nothing to lose except your time, so base your decision on that perhaps. smithy

Putting TT man cams in an auto n/a?
The Auto had "slighty" different cams and a lower AR in the turbo in order to closely match the TT's 0-60 time, so in theory yes is your answer. It is of course mainly the lower AR that increased it's acceleration. That said, the gain is very very minimal if even noticeable, hardly an easy plonk in job, so imo for the small cost of them second hand, the effort involved swapping them over, it far outweighs the gain and yes even if you an engine out and part stripped. With all the many many newly built engines peeps have done, I have never known anyone in over 10 years to bother their time with it, they generaly go with the JWT cams of various levels if required. smithy

wat would u go for??????
You did say 300 quid though eh, a few quid more than the autobahn. anyway you mean these http://www.autospecialists.co.uk/Airtecs-Mondeo-Mk4-2022-Diesel-front-mount-Intercooler-upgrade-Product-1074.html smithy

wat would u go for??????
and how many runs on the rollers did you do for each I/C assume you simply removed 1 cooler and fitted the other? Oh must confess never heard of airtech thought we were comparing the likes of an 500-800 japanese kit compared to a couple hundred quid autobahn smithy

wat would u go for??????
Thats because they aalways made up nice and shiny to look good and as long as the welds look okay, then why would anyone complain. However the most important fact being with all these cheapos that crop up, they are cheap cause the cores are not the best, the most basic and your average Joe wouldn't know any difference. The ONLY way to know about how good any cooler is to measure intake charge temps, if you ain't done it, then you can't say it's good or bad or saying you never had any problems with it, cos what kinda problems could you get once it's fitted??? They so cheap for a reason! smithy

What's a UK manual 300ZX Twin turbo worth??
When you own a Zed that's what you do though! It's only a 1.5K paint job that you will not get back, fact! It will add a little extra value and certainly make it more appealable to many, thus increasing your chances of selling it on when the time comes which in itself could be priceless. Either way it comes down to 2 points, 1) It's worth what is to you to own it. 2) It's worth whatever it is to gain a sale in the future based on what someone is prepared to pay and that sadly is the great unknown. smithy

It's the rear seal that goes on turbo's over time but often helped along when back pressure is changed in the system by de catting and going too large in exhaust diameter. Just ask them to fit em at time of ordering mate, chances they already will but didn't mention. smithy

Phew! :-) Last thing, the one great benefit of TD's supplied turbo's over TT ones is that they generally fit stagger gap piston ring seals, which is good for our cars, did they mention those were fitted by any chance? smithy

Nope mate. Just noticed tho the link you supplied was for 200sx turbo's on the TD website, you have priced them up for 300zx fitment, ie: a left and right hand turbo? and deffo a 5 stud fitment for the downpipe? smithy

Personally the 2.5in unless you plan on doing a full 3in exhaust system? But also because the pipes are for left hand use, now this isn't a major problem as there is room easily with the 2.5in ones, with a 3in one and the steering rack and a bend in the pipe the wrong way cos we are UK, hmmm i'd go 2.5in like the others generally do... The last bit referrs to gaskets required, you have the option to buy gaskets that fit just the turbo end or just the test pipe end ( de catts to us) or you can have both. hth smithy

Diameter of pipework to throttle bodies
Well those pipes look like the ones i used to sell, which if they are the throttle body stainless pipe is ALL 63mm O/D and tbh as the pipe is so short and you need to keep the stainless pipe 15mm away from touching the throttle body or intercooler pipe the other end, your gonna struggle mate i reckon. If you cut a 5mm wide ring of the stainless pipe, when your finished messing about, slot it over the pipe again on the end and tack 3 spots of weld on and hey presto you have your bead back on again! good luck anyways mate. Oh if it were me, i'd do it throttle body end so your gonna need your tee pieces to be 63mm ID with a 25mm ish tee off smithy
-
Diameter of pipework to throttle bodies
yeah that's correct mate. Just to add the silicone sleeve used on hard pipe kits is 63mm ID at the throttle body end, not that effects your plans. You will of course have to cut short your existing hard pipes down in length to fit those tee pieces and hopefully have enough room. Shoow us a pic of your hard pipes again fella smithy

BEETs abflug kit - Car.mad input please
When importing from the Us on a regular basis i allowed 21% in total of the item cost and the shipping cost, that was fairly accurate tbh I know this is Japan but perhaps similar. There are companies who will purchase in japan for you and give fairly accurate inclusive costs including taxes etc mate. I did have a price and actually ordered it a few years ago but it all fell through sadly... smithy
