  1. Most Japanese cars are not undersealed. If you get an import it's best to get this done as soon as poss. That might explain why you see so many rusty Jap cars?
  2. Just thought you might like to see this: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=28252 :D :p :D :D
  3. Jap Heaven, I have sent you a PM on various Rolling Roads and organisers for events at these places. If you are GENUINELY interested, please let me know. P.S. the PM was from another Forum.

  5. "Sold as seen" has no value in law. The matter is whether it was/is fit for purpose and whether the seller took due care in selling the car and whether you acted recklessly in purchasing. It's all very vague I'm afraid.
  6. Don't forget, entrance is per person, not per car. :)
  7. On a related matter, if you guys are interested in ATI crank dampers there's an interesting discussion here
  8. One simple thing to bear in mind is the degradation of fuel. 98RON will lose about 2-3 RON over a 48 hour period, after that it degardes less slowly. I guess the same/similar is true for 97RON. Having said that, you get some very funny looks when you walk into the petrol station and, before filling up, ask them when the last tanker-load was delivereed and how full or empty the underground tank was before it was topped up. :D :D
  9. At the time the picture was taken it had no engine fitted. Still managed to win second prize in its class. It belongs to Luc-Michel and was on the GTROC stand. It now has a W12 quad-turbo lump.
  10. It's not just the software, you will need the dongle to fit in the back of the PC

Not sure about pressure but it will help with cooling, if fitted correctly.
  12. How many of you guys are going to run?
  13. If there's enough of you (you'll have to be quick) - you can book a Club stand
  14. Just do what everyone else does who has larger disks (363mm on the front of my car). Put the space-saver on the back!  I would have thought you'd want the skinny one on the back and better grip on the steering end anyway - regardless of which tyre fails!
  15. Like these ones you mean :D :D (taken at a recent 350Z/GTROC Meet):
  16. I fitted the Fiat ones to a Ginetta G27. To save money on the expensive housings etc. I just bought the lights and then went to B&Q to get some drainage pipe as a housing. A bit of glue and fibreglass later - ALL DONE! And a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the whole aseembly (and a perfect fit!)
  17. They claim to be R32 and R33 "style lights". I guess that's cos they're round.  R32 and R33 rear lights are noting like each other in size and layout, but they are both round. In truth they are nothing like Skyline rear lights! :D If you want something different (but still 'legit' Skyline) try these: http://www.autoselect.co.jp/LED/led_gtr.html Shin at Prospec Motorsport has ordered a load of them: http://www.prospec-ms.co.uk/company/contact.html
  18. Friday, Maybe you should check back at previous posts on this very matter. I did provide photographs of various rear light configurations: R32, R33 and R34. I also offered anyone who wanted to a list of meetings where they could come along a measure for themselves the lights. As you know measuring the lenses is the easy part - looking at the fittings from inside is whet really matters. As a fairly regular contributor to THIS forum maybe you could have approached me direct if you wasn't getting the help you needed. :nono: My offer still stands. If you want to have a look let me know. However, if you'd rather disregard my previous information then don't be surprised if people aren't willing to help you a second time!
  19. In 1952 the Tachikawa Aircraft Company made its first production car after demand for it’s Zero fighter all but dried up and it was de-merged from the Fuji Sangyo conglomerate. The Tama electric car hardly set the world alight at the time but, fortunately for us all today, they later decided to branch out into petrol-engine cars. Today there exists the New Tachikawa Aircraft Company – making aircraft parts for the modern industry, including seats for the new Airbus. The Tachikawa Aircraft Company launched a car called the Prince in honour of Crown Prince Akihito’s birthday and, in 1955 changed the company name to Prince Motor Company. Fortunately for us they also stopped producing electric cars at about the same time. Many years later with post-war rebuilding still under way in Japan, many outside investors saw Japan as a good opportunity and the number of hostile take-overs was beginning to cause concern for the government of the day. As Toyota merged with Hino and Daihatsu, so in 1966 the Prince Motor Company Ltd. was merged into Nissan Motors Ltd. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There is a Prince museum in Japan. If you're interested the GTROC are organising a trip in late 2005. Some links for you: Timeline of cars Prince and Skyline virtual museum
  20. Prince and Datsun were completely separate companies. On December 26 1933 Jidosha Seizo Co Ltd, Nihon Sangyo Co and Tobata Imono Co, merged. On June 1 1934, Nihon Sangyo (Nissan) became the Company's sole owner and changed the Company's name to Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and in 1966, the Prince Motor Company Ltd. was merged into Nissan Motors Ltd. The first 240Z was released in 1970.
  21. I'm just fnishing off my reserach on the history of the Skyline - right back to the Tachikawa Aircraft Company who made the Zero fighter airrcaft. ....... which is where the "Z" came from for the later production cars That explains some of the kamikaze driving I've seen from you lot.  ;) - right. Time for my cocoa and medication, and I'm off to bed. :D
  22. Look again! One of them is a 750bhp GT-R
  23. Smithy, Definately coming back! See you in June 2005!
  24. :D :D - Oh yeah? What about the recent GTROC Trip to IoM then?
  25. Are you sure they're warped? There was a big discussion on the GTROC about this and we got some input from AP. On some occasions people thought there disks were warped because of the shuddering but it turned out not to be the case. Apparently when the brekes get very hot and you start colling down they attract very small particles on the disks which then deposit themselves in such a way as to make it feel like warped disks. The only way to cure it is get the brakes really hot again and try to let them cool without having to brake inbetween. i.e. a few very fast laps and straight in. Having had disks warp in the past and having experienced this before I did find some of what AP said to be true. For example I've had supposedly warped disks (due to shudering) suddenly clear themselves after following APs advice. - Just a thought
