  1. Barry, It depends on what you mean by "recognised". As far as I am aware there are no Nissan UK officially sanctioned car clubs, however, Nissan Japan have formally recognised at least one;) There are other forms of recognition. For example whether the club is a member of the MSA. Unfortunately, from experience this process can take up to 9 months. Why do the insurance company want to know and what is the net benefit? John
  2. The track day is now full. :) Hope to see a few of you at the day.
  3. No charge for spectators. And, as far as I know, there is no charge for passengers, so you might want to bring a crash helmet with you.:)
  4. Garry, I've put you on the confrmed list;) See you in a couple of weeks.
  5. Garry, Yes. We have limited it to 40 and it's first come first served. We have 26 paid and another 9 confirmed but not paid. I guess that leaves 5 spaces (unless we get a few drop outs) Also, because we are organising the day it will be an open pit lane, so you can do as many laps as you want with no restrictions. There will be some restrictions at the start for inexperienced drivers to get to know the track but, after that, it's completely free! Passengers are free for the day as far as I know. So if you fancy a spin (it has been known:o) in my car, just let me know. John
  6. You don't need insurance to drive on a track. If you are interested call either your broker and get a quote or ring Tett Hamilton (based in Bristol). Other than that Eggar Lawson are quite good or Norwich Union. Basically you decide on the excess and how much cover you want. They wont insure the car just damage up to a certain figure. Brands Hatch has some good overruns, but the barriers can get quite close at times, so it's really up to personal choice.
  7. Mike, We have £2m public liability (that should be enough) but not car cover. Because everyone has a different value on their car and want different excesses and rates it's too complex to do it directly (we did try once:( ). However, I can put you in touch with some insurers and they can quote you. John

Most of the guys on the GTROC have one fitted - it's almost a standard fitting nowadays. Absolutely right there's nothing like running the car off boost for the last few miles - but what fun would that be?:D :D Also, regardless of how low boost you run you still need a bit of time for the car just to run on tickover (slow) to give the turbos a colling down period. Most timers can be set to have a pre-set time or a variable time depending on how much you are thrashing the engine. Whether it works with your alarm depends on the alarm. If it doesn't, just get out, lock the car, order a pint and come back to set the alarm in a minute or two.
  9. Saw a very nice silver 350Z two weeks ago in Birmingham. I wasn't sure what I liked most - the car or the number plate. The plate? N15SAN:)
  10. Mark, thanks for posting that.:) We are limiting the day to Register members and guests/frineds only. So there's no fear about loads of Sccobies filling up the day or Boxter's acting as mobile chicanes;) There will also be quite a few track day virgins there so we are having controlled sessions in the morning to give newbies the time to build up a bit of confidence (and speed:)) It will also not be a day full of nutter-cars, there are loads of GTS-ts coming and even a normally-aspirated Skyline:eek: EA Games have also said they will try and get along - with their new game: The Need for Speed and Japanese Performance and Banzai will also be there. Rocket Ronnie will be there as will the JUN Super Lemon, Andy Barne's blue R34 and a few other 'notables' will be there. If you want to know more, PM me or send an e-mail. Hope to see some of you there. John
