Billing-The main event of the year.
It's the cat wee on the top of the can that really adds flavour. Don't you think?

Club Sec/Chairman...IMPORTANT...so read!
I've read this thread with some disbeliefe and some (occasional) nodding of the head. Now those of you that know me know I don't even own a Zed (or ever have). But I've met a few of you and Mark and I have shared the occasional beer or three when he was first involved in setting up the club. Knoweldge on setting up the GTROC has, I hope, helped Mark and the rest of you as a result. Therefore, I'm a little upset to see this kind of chat going on. Blimey - and I thought Wimbledone was all about wacking something to the other side only for it to come back with interest!!!! :nono: Last Summer there was a big argument on the Skyline/GTR Register as a result of which the WebMaster shut down the forum with a message that read "It's a lovely day and the weather forecast for the next few days is for more hot weather. Go outside, lie down and take a breather - see you all in a few days" - it seemed to work. I'm not suggesting shutting it down but - let's all take a "Chill Pill" or something. I don't know what has been said, might have been said, who owns what, who makes money, who is and who is not in charge.......... but I do know the reason you all (or most anyway) visit this site is because of your mutual interest in Zeds. Whatever is going on (and there ALWAYS are hidden agendas) - because you can't see 'em don't mean they don't exist why not say it or leave now? Not nice, but effective. Now - if you all think I'm a nosey ****** and have nothing to do with this, then fine. But, maybe as an outsider and someone who has seen similar things before, - maybe there is something to be said for long deep breaths, a bit of openness and honesty and less CRAP! Thanks John

does anybody else hate footie???
I detest the damn stuff! What a complete waste of time. What a bunch of hooligans off the pitch and what complete cry-babies on it. Take some of these so-called professionals and ask them just to turn up at practice at say Wigan RL or Leicester RFU or an Ice Hockey game. Then watch them roll around on the floor for 30 seconds in agony! What a bunch of complete w@nkers! :slap: Hmm - much better. Off for some cocoa and my medication.

Jae 2004 Update
No. The official forms are for clubs and traders. The application is in two parts - trade stand or club stand, and entry tickets. You cannot order entry tickets without ordering a traders plot or a club stand.

Billing Tug of WAR!!!!
Roy, If you mean at JAE, do you want us to put a note out about it? The next Bulletin goes out this weekend but I may be able to get it added to the e-mail John

Jae 2004 Update
If you want to order advanced tickets can 1 person coordinate it for all of you? The logistics of doing 10,000 tickets makes it prohibitive otherwise. Thanks John

What motor would you get for 4k?
There's a Skyline R32 GTS (2 litre n/a) for a little under £3k on the GTR Register.
-
Price for a Skyline
If it's an auto it's eiother had a gearbox swap (I doubt very much) or it's a GTSt, a GTS a GXE or something else. There are some very easy ways to tell. The R33 GTS has large side repeaters flush with the front wings the GT-R has smaller ones that protrude. Alsio the GTR is wider (flared arches etc.). Lifting the bonnet: the GT-R has an RB26 engione, the others can have anything from an RB16 (I kid you not) to an RB25. Also, unless it's had a single turbo concversion the GTR is the only one with twins. Whatever you do, before you buy it make sure you get it checked by BIMTA. The GTR Owners Club is an afffiliated member of BIMTA and can help also. John

Whoever gets the job of National Events Organiser it would be really good if you could contact Claire Williams of the GTROC. As The GTR Owners Club's National Events Corodinator she is keen to do stuff with the 300ZX Club. John

billing show?????
The Z Club and the 300ZX are side-by-side at Billing Aquadrome. Club stand space has been booked for both clubs but you will still have to pay to get in to Billing Aquadrome. You can queue up and pay on the day or order tickets in advance. Advanced tickets have to be done through your Club and can be for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If you're still not sure please post here or send me a PM John

Are track days really worth it?
Woooah! Calm down!!!! :nono: :D :D Isn't the real question whether it is a proper track day and a blast around the trackday? I would never go on track at Japfest for the following reasons: No segmentation by ability of drivers No guarantee of segmentation by car performance No sighting laps Insufficient familiarisation time Poor run-offs Insufficient time on track anyway Poor instruction Limited marshalling (has any EVER been black-flagged at Japfest?) I did go on track at TRAX last year. However, this was in a Skyline-only session and there was a meeting of all the drivers first (outside of the briefing). To be fair it was very pedestrain, but that only serves to prove my point about these sort of events. For what it's worht we wont be taking part at this year's TRAX. A proper track day will have all the following Full briefing Sighting laps (I have known up to 5 to take place) Short initial sessions to give everyone a chance to familiarise themselves Segmentation by ability (cars and drivers) Marshalls who apply the rules strictly but fairly Rebriefing if necessary Time! - the single most critical factor: Go out, do a few laps, come in, discuss some key pioints with others. Have a break. Go out, do a few laps.............. If by 1pm you still haven't really got to grips with the track there is still plenty of time left! - - - - - Are track days worth it? - Properly organised/run events: Yes http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=20027 http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=18544 http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=22462 Are 15 minute track sessions at motor-fairs worth it? - No. 2 cars crashed at Japfest in 2003 3 cars crashed at Japfest in 2004

how do i get my 300 to into billing??
Rob, The 300ZX lub has a stand - look in the events & meets section under the title JAE or Japanese Auto Extravaganza. You should also be able to order discounted entry tickets through the 300ZX Club, in advance of the meeting
