Sorry Paul, I missed you replying to this message as I would have said something. Yes sometimes the solders do go on the dials and with a speed converter there are more solders to go wrong. There is infact a writeup on the internet on how to check and resolder the back of the dash. Seems though you have sorted it yourself. I wasnt so lucky with mine when my speedo stopped working. It ended up actually being the dial itself that was broken. Stuart

We tried to get a Z club track day but it fell through. People were up for it in theory but as soon as dates and costs where produced, hardly any one signed up.

Today I was in my girlfriend's MINI on going from a 30 limit to a national limit. About 100 yards away from the national limit he tries to over take. I put the accelerator down a little but 30mph in 4th it does little. As he draws next to me a car comes round the corner in the other direction, probably doing 50 or so mph because they had just come out of a national limit road. I had to slam on the brakes to stop a head on collision, and then when the twat pulled back in he was inches from the front bumper of the MINI. I just wish I had my Z in that situation.

I dont know how I will feel about selling my Z. I too, will soon be looking for a house but I plan to keep the Z. It is my hobby and what is the point of working long hours if you dont have anything to enjoy. Plus, if the difference between affording a house and not affording a house is the cost of running a Z, then the budget of owning that house is too close to what I earn then. If you get what I mean. But we are in completely different situations.

There is also a 2000spec front bumper which was slightly different to the 1999 spec. It was higher and had a lip on a little like that.

IM trying to find some where who can do this too, as I want to get the light reflectors resurfaced as they are very tarnished.

NA are less powerful so less stress on engine parts and there are no turbos to go wrong.

I got a lightened pulley from the US a while back which came with a set of fan belts, but they are all too short. DOes any one know which length fan belts I need to use with my lightened pulley? Thanks Stuart

Its no good. It changes setting so that you cant get on certain sites making you use theirs. For example, when my sister went to AOL Hotmail stopped working as did a number of other site. Some pages would not display correctly unless you used the AOL broswer where they send themselves information about what you are looking at.

Dont think that is rust. I think it is a trick of the light. It is purple but digital cameras have trouble getting the purple and always comes out blue. Basically the engine is in. Everything needs connecting up.

I said that the coil connectors could not take the engine and box together. But we managed it. Thats why I got the new loom

Probably the same chance of you making an engine which doesnt blow up as soon as you use it or have the cam belt snap hours after finishing a rebuild
