number plate logos
Are they? I doubt that, as the the idea of a number plate is to identify the car easily. To have a vin number on a plate it would be really small and people are not very good at remembering a 15 digit code ;)

Turbos - It's time
How much are you looking to spend Stuart? Over £1500 before shipping and tax is a little much and then you will have to new flang pipes to make it fit. I know very little about turbos too, but the generalisation is the JWT 500 Sport are the best up grade for people like yourself and me. YOu want the spool up to stay the same and it will give you a little more oomf! Stuart

6hrs and my first problem
Basically Ignition on Take up the carpet in the passenger footwell. unbolt the wooden panel underneath. You can see the ECU. On the left side off the ECU there is a slot with a LED and a little screw in it. turn the screw fully clockwise wait for 2 seconds and then turn it back. If you get it correct the LED will flash and the check engine light on the dash will flash the same. You will have long flashes and short ones. Count the long flashes. These are your tens, so if there are 3 long flashes thats 30. After the long flashes there will be short flashes. These are you units. So if you get 5 short flashes that is four. There will be a pause before it goes back to the tens again. So the long 3 flashes and 5 short equals 35. The codes are 11: crank angle sensor circuit 12*: air flow meter circuit 13*: engine coolant temp. sensor circuit 14*: vehicle speed sensor circuit 21: ignition signal circuit 26*: boost pressure sensor 31*: ECU 32*: EGR function 33*: exhaust gas sensor circuit (left) 34: detonation sensor circuit 35*: exhaust gas temp. sensor circuit 42: fuel temp. sensor circuit 43*: throttle position sensor circuit 45*: injector leak 51*: injector circuit 53*: exhaust gas sensor circuit (right) 54: signal circuit from A/T control to ECU 55: NO malfunctions in the above You can find more detailed instructions at http://www.ttzd.com/diagnostic.html

Red is scientifically proven to be the fastest. I do like yellow though as it is one of few cars which looks good in yellow.

Wrapped my Z round a tree
A friend of mine got an evaulation for his car when it was written off. The insurance company offered XXXX amount but it was worth more than that. A letter was sent from the official club saying they would estimate its vaule at XXXX. He didnt get the full amount which the club said, but it was close to it and a lot more than their first offer. Maybe we could offer a service like this when become officially official, if you know what I mean.

auto - manual
There was a system called Shift At Will, I think which basically changed the gears on the auto box at the touch of a button. I dont know if that is what you are looking for, or if they still do it. You probably can get a tiptronic box, but it would be a custom one and cost mega £££££ Devil, The cams are different from manuals and autos.

not enough respect for a supercar!!!
There is a Classic car museum in the US and they have had a space ready for the 300ZX since 1994 I think it was. Problem is their policy says they only allow cars which are not in production to be displayed. They waited for 6-7 years to put it in and I think they actually got THE last one made. I can understand the cruising of the 300ZX. The car is so laid back and lazy when cruising which is what you want when doing so. Even though the car is laid back you accelerate hard, the car does the hard work and you are still laid back. With the T-Tops off it opens you up to the world. I have never driven a Skyline but I have heard from a few sources that you have to really push it to get the best out of it. So that says to me, when driving normally, crousing or touring, the car wont seem special. Its only when pushed it stands out, and to me, that is not what touring or cruising is about. I could be completely wrong though, as I have never driven a Skyline ;)
