No Im just taking my time, making sure everything is right. I would hate to start the engine and then have something simple like a gasket leaking, or the boost controller paying up or the timing belt snap. That would just be embarassing. Stuart

It could be your thermostat is broken and the engine is not warming up. Start the engine and earth the connector to some where. The needle should go to the top. If it does, there is nothing wrong with the sensor. The dash one is the black topped sensor.

How are you going to have a custom map? I presume they do it on the rolling road to see if the power is good. If so, dont you think dynoing a rebored engine before its worn in is a little risky?

How you know the temp gauge is not working? There is no fuse for it.

Gotit: They stole a lot of identity documents to get do these things. If this ID card comes into play they will need less stuff and you really only need your identity card to say who you are. Passports and driving licences are already being copied, having another "Official" Id means there is more money for criminals to sell forged documents. We will lose our right to be anonymous. What difference does it make whether I can prove who I am in the middle of a street? Street muggers are not going to have their card on display when they are kicking some old woman to the floor for her pension. Armed robbers are not going to show people their cards and then as them to lay down on the floor. I don’t carry any id around in my wallet. If it is stolen, then they not only have what money I have or cards, but then have my identity. The only way an Id card will work is if an image is displayed on a screen when the card is swiped through a computer. If not, and the image is changed on the card which wont be hard, the person who stole my card will be Stuart Evans as far as any one who sees it or any one who asks for it, with no questions asked. We already have a unique identity anyway. Its called your national insurance number. From this they can get your address, phone number, name, date of birth, where you work, bank account, to name a few things. And from those pieces of information they can find your medical history via hospital computers, they can look you up on the organ donors record. What else do you need? So for your personal safety a National Insurance card with your number is perfect and there is no need to forge it. You cant use it to get loans, buy cars etc. To me that is a lot safer than having an Id card which when forged ( And they will be forged within weeks of their release, it took 2 weeks for the Euro money to get forged ) can give a criminal a some one else’s identity. From a National Insurance number they can find out information about you, but it cant be used for anything. For example, there are hundreds of cars on the road with false number plates on and these have been caught by speed cameras. The person who owns the car with the real number gets the fine and some have real trouble proving it wasn’t them. Now imagine people having to prove this person who has official document saying they are you, isn’t. My friend got sent a summons for not paying a parking ticked 300 miles away from where he lives. It took over 3 months to persuade them it wasn’t him and it was only by luck that the car that got the ticket was a different car. What happened if it was the same make of car? How can you prove it wasn’t you? One final thing. The Government wants all this information to be stored on 1 computer system so they can get any information about you if they wanted. That means just 1 computer to hack to find out anything you want about anyone, and give and change information if they wanted, and then you prove its wrong! If the CIA, FBI and US Military computers have been hacked, this one will be. It also means if this computer goes down, you will have no Id until its up! It is also said there is no computer system big enough and fast enough to hold and process that much information for 60,000,000 people. They have a system like that in the US on a voluntary Id card where 50,000 people have signed up, and the people who run that say they don’t think the system could handle millions of entries and thousands of enquiries a second.

At the place where I got my block bored, there was a con rod from a truck there about the length of your fore arm and nearly as thick bent badly in the middle. All because water got into the engine. :( Can your hoover suck up water? If so get it down there and suck as much as you can out. Stuart

I reckon it will be good, however the quality of a lot of the stuff on the net is quite poor. If we can get this Video (hint hint Vinz!) that would make a good addition, and then the burn out on Top Gear as well as the Old v New races. Maybe some additional footage of trackdays, drag days or dyno days. A drag racing day video would be good, but we really need 2-3 cameras there to make it even better. If we go to a drag race day if any one could take a vid camera themselves and then give me the tape to copy when I get home and send it back, we could make a very good vid of that. Stuart

It was on about a year ago, and people who watched it said it was the pimps car and got a lot of coverage. :D Fast and the Furious: Only in the end credits you see the back of the car with the boot open. I think all you can see is the centre panel with the 300ZX and a sub. I think you can see people dancing in the reflection of the panel. You also see one lined up ready to race and there is a girl talking to the driver. Also look at the extra features and look at the computer animation of the first street race. Doms car is a 300ZX. It was on that programme called "England Expects" or "My England" on BBC I think it was. Right at the end when the riot starts there was a black import 300ZX parked out side. Any ones here ? ;)

Where is the needle on the gauge? Is it in the middle?

I too dont drive fast past schools, how ever people with the children dont seem to bother about road safety. The road is lined with cars on both sides even though there are double yellow lines and has the no stopping zig zag lines. There is a lolly lop lady there out side of our local school for people to cross with, but about 50% of parents dont. They cant be bothered walking 30 yards the opposite direction to their car. They come out of school, walk up the path and then cross between parked cars. There is also traffic light crossing but again, they cant be bothered walking 30 yards in the other direction to cross at a saft place where cars will stop. For some reason they think trying to cross theselves and 2 small children between 2 parked cars is safe. Dont even get me started on the people who have prams and push chairs who seem to think putting slightly in the road why they stand on the kirb is safe. Its swings and roundabouts. A school is a dangerous place to cross. There are hundreds of people leaving when the road is at its busiest. If everything was in idea world, every one who needed to cross would use the crossings where they are seen, traffic will stop. But now driving down a road with a school on, inbetween every illegally parked parents car there could be some parent with a child who could walk out without looking. We know it all happens as I bet its happened to every one of us, we are just lucky enough to notice them. Stuart
