Google search says it's CF71 7PB. The post code is off a tad but you will see sign posts for the track. put the post code into RAC Route planner or Google Earth and it's a cinch. Better still use Sat Nav and then use your bonce for the last 1/4 mile.
  2. John - be careful - when you run the alternator backwards it sucks the power from all your equipment and your CDs play in reverse. Thought I'd help you out as you been good to me. No charge for this info.:)
  3. Yes - you can forget 5th and 6th when on a track!!! Seriousl,y there will be closer ratios.
  4. Just musing - if it's worth changing to a manual why not a 6 speed?
  5. Interesting. I wonder what is considered a strong box for a Zed with around 330bhp? Maybe A Supra - OR non Jap box, Tremec T56?
  6. But if it blew next week - I'd still have to ask the question - so I'm trying to get in ahead of the game. The box will probably last for ages yet - the car has done about 58k miles so far.
  7. If it never rains in Ireland go for widest - if it rains go for 235. Ever had a Zed surf on you? Wide rubber on dry tracks is great. You have to balance it out for road use. My Zed is slower in the 'very' wet than my Skoda was and probably my wifes A CLass.
  8. OK Nurgburg convinced me that an autobox is for town traffic jams. What's the conventional wisdom on a manual box upgrade in terms of which box, costs etc? Is there a 6 speed box out there? thanks Chris

Can't be, otherwise you'd know exactly where the track and karts are!!!

face the gates - karts right - track left.
  12. Well we did it. 1500 miles there and back in the Zed. Faultless miles. I was amazed at the number of folk around Nurburg who were stopping to take pictures of my Zed. Especially as there were wall to wall GT3's, Ferraris and the like. I guess they all look the same - but there was only one Zed and I must admit it was a head turner. Did 4 laps of the Ring. A bit of trepidation as it's been 3 years since my last 12 laps. However, the car was sure footed and the bends didn't seem quite so scary this time. Had to let a few very quick cars through but I passed more than I was passed. The problem being.......... that darned autobox. No matter what gear I was in it never seemed the right one. You need instant response and gear speed andan autobox just dithers too much on a circuit like that. Probably doing 9 minute-ish laps but never clocked it. The Zed is ballistic on main roads but seemed too slow on the Ring - weird that. No pics sorry. Next year Route 66 USA. Mustang. The work begins now! ps found 2 pics to prove I was at least roaming the car park!!!

Fortunately for you Llandow has plenty of scrapyards for you to dump your engine internals when you arrive!!!

Man you must be quick if Toulouse is only 10 mins from LLandow!!! I'm in Brackla.

Aug 23rd great for me. Mind you I'm only 10 mins away from Llandow - and of course 10 seconds quicker than any other TT Auto Zed out there.............................. BTW who is organising this meet? Seem to have got lost in all the posts.

    Llandow good for me.
  17. Well if anyone is there between 6th and 13th Aug let me know - cheers Chris
  18. Don't fink wozzers going anywhere in his Zed??.....................
  19. Anyone in Germany between 6th and 14th August? Got the Zed and will probably rack up a few laps of the wunderbar Nordschleife. Might be good to meet up and compare, er, notes! Exhaust notes I mean
  20. I am talking about breakdown and repatriation of car and driver to UK if breakdown in Europe.
  21. Stoner v Rossi? There's racers and there's World Class, then there's Rossi. Stoner look and learn. It takes a lot more to be a world champion than winning a title. Stoner - you were out ridden by the best. Take it, learn from it - but never diss 'the man' on camera - it speaks more about you than it does The Doctor.
  22. Who has breakdown recovery insurance? Is it with your current insurer? Does anyone know a good independant recovery policy provider? It seems insurance companies are now conning people into either taking out Recovery at time of renewal or else they won't do it at all. Not suggesting it's another con, but I can't think of another word.
  23. Before you spend big money - I think, I think a can of Slick 50 will cure that...................
  24. Tip. Wait another 40 years and you can get it for £270. Only downside is petrol will be £5000 a gallon......................... if yer lucky.
