Best use of the blanking area?
Just wondering what use to make of this useless area on my dash? The 2 drawers are too small for a CD disc and the drink holder doesn't. Suggestions please - what have YOU done with yours? I suppose I am looking for pics or graphics of what's been done. I can think of a few things - just looking to see what's been done to best effect.

Dear santa...
If a tree falls in a forest - can you still hear the sound of a Zed fuel guage dropping south??
-
derestricting..
Dunno what it is - on the car when I bought it. It's an agricultural version converts Chains to Perch's................. Nah just kidding it's from Donegal and converts furlongs to square feet..................... Bottom line is I don't know.

Dear santa...
Santa drives a Jap spec Auto if anyone's interested.

derestricting..
Is that stupid 'bonging' noise the sound of the police sirens?? Just a thought.................... I think my unit must be wired up wrong as the fuel gauge is the only thing that appears to be moving much quicker now!!

quick update
There is a very sobering moment if one of these County Court claims drops on your doormat. https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp The Defendant will usually cave in out of court. Thus he agrees to pay your costs, damages and if not then, as long as your case is reasonable and you are in the right, go for it. It takes about 15-20 mins online and nearly always works. I tried it once and got every penny back plus costs. Just a thought................. afterall sometimes justice works for the victim instead of the crook!! :D

Newbie question ..
Roddy see my reply to you on the other thread that I sent you

I only went out for a spin and came back with a Zed - what's happening to me??
Roddy - send me a PM and I'll tell you - it's such value for money I can't believe that New Labour haven't found a clause to stop us owning one, Oh wait a minute they have - it's called the Fuel Escalator - Doh!! What I did was this. I saw my mates Zed - instantly smitten. Searched Autotrader, this site and a few others inc Ebay. Quickly formed a view that I needed a 94 vintage, Auto, Silver low miles and good condition. That eliminated nearly everyone I saw. Found mine in Autotrader with a very accurate description. Went to see it and bought the first one I'd gone to see. Which is going against the old saying 'Never buy the first one you see'. However, if you have half a brain you know what's good and what's not. (Having said that - if I had half a brain why would I buy a beast like this - it has no practicality about it whatsoever - it's pure motoring lust) If you are wanting one - get one using head and heart (and an accountability partner to accompany you to the purchase) and you'll at least get it out of your system. At the prices involved you can hardly lose. If worst came to worst you could break it and make a fortune on parts!! Enjoy!

Newbie question ..
UK models tend to have higher miles than a Jap import. Mine is an import and it's gorgeous at 55 k miles Here's mine - only washed it once at this point:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=970694&postcount=59 cheers Chris

Newbie question ..
Roddy - better to die broke and 'pumped up' then rich and bored to death................ Don't take that literally - but sort of sums up adrenaline junkies.

Winter Driving?
At the risk of stating the obvious - a Zed is NOT a car for all seasons. If you could operate the same in all weathers then the F1 boys wouldn't be changing tyres and set ups every 5 minutes. It seems as if the right tool for the right job applies as much here as anywhere. Now wheres that Charade 4wd jobbie on ebay?

H.I.Ds fitted and sidelights wired up
OK - thanks - I wonder if there's another way to stop the HIDs coming on during the day?? let me have a chat with my genius sparko.

I can't believe this is happening.
Sounds like nothing that 15 cans of 'Wynns for oil' can't solve....................

H.I.Ds fitted and sidelights wired up
Mark - thanks for that - a few Qs though:- This is what I want:- 1. HID on dipped beam 2. At night - when my dipped are on and I put mains on (gonna be the H1 NightBreakers 90w) the dipped can go off as far as I'm concerned (unless of course it causes a longevity issue by re-firing up the HIDs when I switch off the mains??) Edit - of course dipped HIDs should stay on when main beam is used at night........ 3. Daylight - Headlight flash - only want mains not HIDS to flash. 4. Nightime - as per 3 i.e. don't want HIDs going off for a split second or 2 during a flash of mains. 5. How does that measure up with your configuration? thanks Chris

H.I.Ds fitted and sidelights wired up
OK I'm on a long, bendy, dark unlit section of A road at night when it's black with no sun. I'm thinking, 'I need the best possible vision here, the long advanced view', so I er, wave my hand? I want to indicate to an HGV driver that he can pull in ahead of me as he's cleared my front end (yes, it can happen!!) so I wave my hand? Guess it's the full wiring jobbie then.

H.I.Ds fitted and sidelights wired up
Beginning to wonder if it's worth all the hassle - has anyone here actually done the full wiring gig?

H.I.Ds fitted and sidelights wired up
Just got the Kingwood HID kit. Inside the box is a short Instruction sheet which simply says 'connect the black lead to earth for keeping dip beam on with main beam'. Has anyone done either set up? What's the pitfall by just using the 'black to earth' bit? Why would the suppliers/dealer add a note like that if it was not kosher or dubious? thanks Chris ps where do you cable tie the HID power units for best effect and safety? my auto-sparky may be dragged into this if the black-to-earth option is a poor lash-up!!

Winter Driving?
I reckon a Zed with Traction Control would be like Paris Hilton sober.........................

Best bulbs for that ice-blue Xenon look?
I gotta stop asking questions here - costing me a fortune!! Just ordered the H1 blueys for main beam. When I'm out they're gonna think the Mother Ship is landing........................... De De Da De Do................
