  1. Was that the brekkie I bought? Oh yeah I remember now. To be fair what I thought when you drove up was "If an old geezer can look cool in a Zed then a Zed it is for me" Now that's cleared that up :D
  2. Getting my Zed looked at first week in Nov. I just want to be sure that everything that should be working is. Once I am satisfied it's not needlessly using petrol - I will consider a re-map which sometimes increases mpg. I'm not looking for power - it's there already. But no point in chucking the juice down the pipes is there? I'll keep you posted and tell you what I've done and what the differences were. I still can't believe I got one of these. It's the best kept secret that's by-passed me for 14 years!
  3. Maybe this is more the case:- 2 Kings 9:20 The watchman reported, "He came even to them, and he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously."
  4. I've never let so many trucks, vans and women overtake me since I've had this Zed!! Does wonders for moderating your driving - a car that drinks like Free Willy..............
  5. That's right kick me when I'm down!! ;) ;) OK it's a chip fat burner module that I need then.....................
  6. There is just enough room in the spare wheel well for a 55 litre LPG tank....................
  7. Most after-market spoilers look like giant carry handles that God could use to pick the car up from behind and hang it in the cupboard until the Sun comes out again. Then again - if you like doing the ironing on a long journey there are the spoilers that can be seen from the Hubble Telescope. I actually like the 94 stock spoiler - and would only change it if a bewt came along! [/img]
  8. Steve - I am subscribed - does that mean I get my Membership stuff and can keep my Insurance comp happy? thanks Chris
  9. Thanks - that's why I wanted 94 onwards - many things including updates to the Zed from factory. cheers Chris Incidentally has anyone seen a dash surround like this before? I wonder if it's a Jap jobbie or custom made? Any help to trace a replacement would be great. [/img] [/img]
  10. Believe it or not - can't hear a peep hardly!! Either they go or my local zorst man will have a little work cut out very soon!!
  11. Chris the only 'Pipeline' that seems to work is the one I have plumbed into the Texaco refinery nearby....... shhhh....................
  12. Only having had my Zed for 2 days I can say this. 266 miles for £60 of 99 RON at £1.01 per litre. That equates to 13.01 gallons which means I got a 20 mpg return. The car has a slight sooty zorst and I suspectan 02 sensor is failing a tad. It runs like a watch and performs like nothing I've driven before. Here's the thing. My Skoda Octavia cost 16500 new 5 years ago. It's worth about 4,800 now. That's a depreciation of 2380 per year. My Zed cost an amazingly low by comparison price and is unlikely to drop in value as it's stunning, so.................. If I look at 7k miles per year in the Zed that's about £1550 on fuel. Which means when you balance the mpg of the Zed against the depreciation of the Skoda it seems as if you might be up on the deal! It's just another way of looking at costs. Bottom line is there is a price to pay for having a car that looks, sounds and goes like a super car. The price seems to be petrol. The reason we quibble petrol is due to the thieving government who rakes about 70% tax on fuel that would otherwise cost you 40p per litre. You know who to blame - it's a pity the UK driving (voting) public have no clue as to how appropriate action should be taken to reverse the fuel escalator tax. It's criminal and we all know it. Still it's a warm feeling seeing all the Zed owners paying their weekly tax bills regularly at the pumps and in turn funding the Social Services Departments.............
  13. Some pics of the Fair Lady:- Twin Turbo Auto 1994 year of manufacture 2006 imported. Converted to miles. 55,000. Totally original apart from:- Tinted glass - Alarm/immobiliser - 19 inch Vortex Evo's. ps Oh yes and 2 of the funnels from the Titanic sticking out the back end - note to self "Must get those off" [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] Hope I'm not hogging too much server space with my pics - but it's worth a shot. What d'ya reckon people?
  14. Well - Friday came and I collected the Zed. Haven't stopped grinning all weekend and it's only halfway through!! The car is stunning and has attracted a lot of attention. Can't get over it. My master plan was a stroke of genius - just changed the Jade Rs and put Vortex Evo's on. In one move the car changed dramatically and turned into a super-car. Looks a million dollars. Will post pics asap. Where has this Fair Lady been all my life? Even Mrs Peranaman is impressed - result! Vortex from Wheel Mania - good bunch of blokes especially Wayne. Then to MotorGuard in Brum who did the Cat 1 stuff - with Turbo timer linked in via alarm of course!! Will be selling my Turbo Timer shortly.
  15. Wot u larfin' at? Remember there's a Track Day looming and then we'll see who's Alonso and who's Hamilton my young son!!! ps mind you I've just had a brown envelope from a Ferrari mechanic so not sure if that means my car will be quicker than yours??
  16. yup the clue was in the header.................. A FLux
  17. Call 0800 505 3000 - be sure to ask for Matthew Smalley - tell him you come highly recommended by Doctor Brooklands - he'll look after you if your history is not silly. cheers Chris
  18. 1994 zx TURBO auto - Jap Import - aged 56 years - F/Comp. PNCB - Business use - excess 250 - £300 premium. Awesome quote from Adrian Flux.
  19. Drive defensively, everywhere. Use advanced observations. Look for the other drivers 'car body language' before you take any actions. Remember - An idiot is someone who drives to slow: and a maniac is someone who drives too fast. There are some driving maneouvres you can get away with in a Citroen AX that you will never get away with whilst driving a super sports car, without incurring the wrath of every 'good' driver who is watching you or embarassed by you. Ever! To prove 'your point' when driving a Zed just go slower and accommodate where you could dominate. Speaks volumes. There's a million others but no point in sharing any more.
  20. There is a diesel conversion for the Zed - a Pug 309 lump will plop straight in. You can get bigger speakers and the sound of a V6 on MP3- Ah, paradise................. Don't thank me - I have loads of tips for those with no more disposable income. It's a sobering thought but 47% of what you earn, and 17.5% of what you spend, and 19% of your savings all goes to our government to help pour endless amounts of cash into incompetently run services and benefits systems. Let's give them more I say!! And then we'll all do a Thelma and Louise end scene - that'll get them worried.
  21. John wait til you see my Perana arches and you won't be tempted to go Jap I promise!!
  22. ZX girl - thanks! Now are you any good at removing wrinkles, veins, cellulite............
