On the basis of what we've seen recently the Stewards seem to penalise everything that used to be known as 'racing' It's what people want to see it's what the sport is all about. If British Touring Cars used the same stewards there would be no racing after Round 1 as all drivers would be banned. We are witnessing the slow and painful death of motor racing. They've made it so 'safe' - nobody takes risks, and wheras they used to be up for a go at an opportunity to mix it up on track - now before every pass or attempted pass the team bosses will have to consult a barrister just to confirm if it's legal. This is the trouble when jobsworths are given powers to rule all our lives from behind a desk or at the end of a computer. What with Political Correctness, Health and Safety, Human Rights and the F1 stewards - we may as well play nothing more interesting than Tiddly Winks - subject to the correct eye-protection, training and insurance.............. F1 would be better run by the Mafia - at least you'd know for sure at the outset that the Bigga Redda Italian car eesa gonna winna. ps forgot to add that if the Stewards reviewed everyone of Schumachers races on video and applied the same 'impartial' logic to his races then applied a retrospective penalty for each of his 'moves' - you know for sure he would never have been world champ, not even once. Most of his 'cheats' are engraved in my mind and on the bodywork of quite a few of his rivals cars....................

The true test is this. Ask Local Authorities and Camera Partnerships if they would maintain and install cameras IF there was no monetary fine BUT only penalty points to be issued? You'd soon find that the 'drive to reduce injuries and fatalities on our roads' would disappear like the morning mist. Everyone in Road Safety ( I was one) knows that inappropriate speed accounts for less than 2% of RTAs yet speed gets almost 90% of all energy to punish - why? Because the technology exists to penalise. As I've said before 'when you have a big enough hammer, everything tends to look like a nail'

If Speed Kills then every F1 driver and MotoGP rider would be dead. So clearly it means Inappropriate Speed Kills - maybe...................... If there's an Inappropriate speed limit in force it may be illegal to break it but it also may not be 'inappropriate for the road or conditions. Try telling that to an unmanned camera.

ps I'd leave the UK tomorrow with no regrets except, wrong age, not got 500,000 in the bank, no relatives there, not wanting to start a business and no job arranged - apart from that I'm smokin'. With all that's happening to the UK and the global economy at this time it's reprehensible that this Govt is more interested in spying on the public and penalising them than dealing with the greater issues of morality, crime, gangsterism, illegal immigrants, sex traders, drugs and the radicalistion of UK citizens by Eastern religious ideologies. It's best summed up as 're-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic after she hit the iceberg'. Still if it brings in some much needed revenue who cares? Even Chief Constables are saying that speed cameras are such a waste of time and maintenance that they are stopping spending on their upkeep. My point is proved.

As I said in other threads - things can change but not by bar room barristers - it takes courage, sacrifice and action. I have never seen the will in the UK and that's why the people we pay to run the country do this with the power we've let them escalate.

Isn't he just a foul mouthed bloke who never takes responsibility for all the failed relationships in his life. Blames his alcoholism on 'being born an alcoholic' thus removing the responsibility factor. Toilet humour and altogether a totally sad geezer. If he behaved like that in some countries he'd be arrested or worse. On the street he'd be booked for obscene language or Public Order Offences. Apart from that - no issues as far as I can see. Not judging - just seen his act on TV, seen his interviews - and his stage act is 10 times worse.

It's nowt to do with Road Safety and it's nowt to do with Security and it's nowt to do with Terrorism. It is a scheme to monitor and tack every UK citizen wherever you go, how fast, where you stop and any other vehicles doing the same trip as you. (judged by association with others? club meets, local Lodge, religious groups, political rallies - the mind bogles...........) Thus it's a Communist dream. Build a system under the auspices of 'safety'. Let it surveil the population, let it generate billions of pounds to pay for itself and ultimately pay for total coverage of the UK. Brilliant in it's sinister methodology. Worth bearing in mind that in Canada 9 years ago the Speed Cameras across the nation were removed because, wait for it, the voting public didn't want them. My friend was a Supt. in Toronto and told me. Now that's the difference betwen democracy and Totalitarianism. OK my turn. Got pulled last night on the way home. The T5 had seen me driving towards him and thought my plate was illegal due to size and spacing. Well he was right my letters were spaced on my dateless number plate and it was smaller than standard. No problem, even though I explained that it was an Import and the larger plate disrupted air flow to the turbo's ( I almost convinced myself at one point). Got the customary VDRS slip and that was that. The fact that I used to issue these myself for 15 years in my previous job was neither here nor there. The thing that rankles is this. The same day we had two plastic CSO people walking our street delivering letters from South Wales Police telling us that our street was the subject of car crime and cars were getting screwed and windows smashed during the early hours - so 'better not keep anything of value in sight' eh. It would have sat better if the Traffic officers had said, 'we will be keeping obs on your street to catch these varmints and protect your property' instead of picking on stupid plates which they told me 'was all in the fight against terrorism' !!! (he sounded as convinced he was in the fight against terrorism as I was about 'air-flow to my turbo's being disrupted') I couldn't be bothered to tell him the real reason plates are targetted i.e. penalty cameras, as it was useless they were on a mission and nothing was going to deter him. Hey ho - down to the MOT station today with the proper plate that I had prepared earlier but didn't bother to mention................. there's none so blind da de da....

When I called I deliberately posed the question about Imports to save my time and she said point blank we don't insure imports. What else to say? I certainly won't ring them again if they don't have a consistent policy.

Just renewed my TV Licence so waiting for Capita to go bananas too..............
