  1. Hi - my air con has been blowing hot for about 3 weeks. Went to my regular garage today for a gas recharge. Only problem is they could only find the 'H' input connector and none of us could see the 'L' or blue suction point. I searched the forum and the web but couldn't find where the 'L' connector is. There is a 'glass bubble' near the H connector but no sign of the Low or suction. Help??
  2. What is the legal position of using a 300ZX on a tyre that has a 92Q rating? Not a budget tyre but a well known make. Not my car I should add.
  3. Quick update. Did the pilgrimage to Nurburg again. Only did 2 laps this year. It was hectic as usual, weather was superb, car performed well, although I didn't get the buzz I usually do. Last time I take an auto Zed around the ring. Actually got baulked by a Merc Sprinter van for quite a few bends!! Couldn't believe how well he was chucking that thing around. Oil and water temp got very high and I knew it was a case of slow or bust - that's my excuse anyway. Overall hol was good but much more expensive than usual - Euro/Pound rate is painful plus Euro prices are up anyway. Went to France and visited the Normandy landing sites, war cemeteries etc - an absolute must I feel. It's pretty awesome to see and feel and walk where 65 years ago it was hell on earth for so many young men (and women as we found out). I add 3 pictures taken last week. First one is me and the Zed Next is me walking on Omaha Beach - trying to fathom the scene of beauty now and the slaughter of 65 years ago.. Lastly, as we walked up to the German Gun Battery at Longues-sur-Mer - the sun was setting and suddenly there appeared 2 soldiers in full uniform at the top of one of the gun emplacements - it was an weird moment but a Kodak moment nevertheless - couldn't have timed it better - so 'snap' and this is what I got. Recommend a visit to Arromanches, Omaha, Gold, Juno, Sword and Utah, plus Pegasus Bridge and the Brit and US grave memorial sites - it'll help you put a lot of things we moan about into perspective plus it'll keep you quiet for a while.......... Oh well, back to the workshop for Perana rebuild ready for next year!!
  4. It looks better in the GRP than it does in pics - cheers. Plus it's great for stacking plates and drinks at a picnic stop!
  5. Clearly this is a Road Safety Device too - as it's stops ASBO behaviour on our roads!! Result.:D I have devised a system of mirrors across the roof lining so I can lie back in an almost prone position, looking through the 4 mirrors above me and the one outside the T bar window and I can see at least 15% of the car behind. Mind you it still looks like a small Star Fighter by the time refraction, reflection and distortion have played their evil part....................... Nah, it's fine really. Just bob yer head up and down and you can see if it's a window cleaners ladders or a blue light rack:nana2:
  6. Driving the Zed to Nurburg, France, Normandy and home - hopefully a nice little trip. Cost of petrol? Pah!:wack:
  7. Who's 'flying' is what I meant sorry? I'll know tomorrow morning if wheels are sold - should be a PO in the mail.
  8. Some spoilers demand a body kit - I wanted one that just finished off the rear end a bit better - I'm up to change it later if I see one that's refined and looks better.
  9. Wish I'd never started this - going in to watch a trash movie............
  10. I do prefer the later lights - but maybe when I get back from Germany.
  11. I get it - fit a 99 spec like everyone else wants to and be like, er, everyone else:rolleyes: At least my Walmart spoiler won't be like anything else around:D And................ so far only a couple of Corsa's have tried to burn me off - so must be doing something right. After Nurburg - if I like it less I'll consider swapping it for a 91 spec with Datsun lights.................
  12. Aw cmon you guys I've spent ages and tears and money putting this thing on. The old spoiler is still on the original tailgate - stupid? me? Nah, I can put the car back as was in about 1 hour. Surely someone likes it? a bit?
  13. How it was last week: Not the best design ever - but it certainly helps the lines on the rear of the car, which is something I was never happy with. No more spending for a while I hope. Mind you it's MOT time in the morning - the day before I go to Nurburg..........:eek:
  14. Thing is we go to the Old Timers GP at the new Nurburg Ring - it's a fabulous event - then we do the 'Ring proper and a bit of touring - the weather can be a bit iffy even in August so going later isn't an option. cheers
  15. Yeah just pulled all the wiring out ready for change of tailgate - thanks I'm sorted now. The roof lining doesn't actually have to come down. There is a narrow roof trim that pops off then the flimsy roof lining drops enough to get the spanner on. So with a few pairs of hands should be OK. I'll pop some pics of the new spoiler on when done - it's nothing too sexy but different from the 94 standard one which I always thought was too flat (mind you it seems as if every Zed owner knows better than Nissan and it's designers eh??!!) Maybe Zed owners ought to help Brawn sort out the aerodynamic issues on Buttons car.............
  16. OK so I'll have to dig a little deeper then ta!
  17. Just about to swap my tailgate for a new one with mid level spoiler. I've sussed the ram strut removal. I've accessed the 4 nuts holding the tailgate in place BUT............. The stupid wiriing going into the rightside of the tailgate seems to have no snap connectors - so I either cut all the wires and rejoin or???? Anyone done this with minimal work? ta Chris ps It's going to Nurburg next week so have to fit it Saturday.
  18. I've got a vented front - the only time it caused huge probs was when I had the panel in for painting and the Apexi filter and MAF got soaked. I dried them all off and it cured it but was a concern for a while. It's only ever coughed once with the panel fitted and that's in 18 months so no problem really. Just bought a 2nd MAF to take on hols to Germany as it always deluges in Belgium.........
  19. I'll hopefully be there on the weekend of Aug 7/8/9 whilst visiting the Old Timers Grand Prix ( an ironic yet actual title for the event). Taking the Zed and of course it'll be so much quicker with newly painted bumpers, polished alloys and that new rear spoiler...................... If anyone's out there give us a shout. Last yeat not another Zed in Germany it seemed.
  20. Google doesn't appear to give up any details of a lawsuit against Broadfieldz ??
  21. This is just one section of a series of amazing roads. If I get time I'll suggest a complete trip from South Wales to Mid Wales / Aberystwyth / Llangurig, Newtown etc that'll blow you away. At least they work on Fireblades and stuff!!
  22. There is still nothing to beat this for sheer wonderment - I want one http://www.carsensor.net/usedcar/detail/CU0003385680/index.html
  23. This was a bit like driving in Ireland to be fair - I was driving on the left, then the right, then the left, then.........................
