Side Repeaters: is it legal to drive without them?
Quick question. I know that side repeators are needed for the MOT but are they a legal requirement on the road? Would the cops have reason to pull me if I drove without them (they've been removed and smoothed over)? Cheers, Leigh.

Anyone know if there's a Travel Lodge or similar near the site? Would really like to stay over Saturday night and have a :duffer: but think I'll have a job convincing Lucie to sleep in a tent! ;)

Window Tints(again!): Thoughts and advice.
Ahhhh, that makes sense now mate, as it was Stu who originally suggested it to me on a thread a few months back! :D

Window Tints(again!): Thoughts and advice.
I had a crack myself but wasn't impressed with the results which is why I also posted in the Photoshop section as I know there are a few computer graphics guys out there! ;) I'd definately not want anymore than just a "sunstrip" type width. There's no point having a good looking car that's wrapped around a tree because you couldn't see the road! :D

Window Tints(again!): Thoughts and advice.
I've got my rear window and rear quarters "limo" tinted and I'm toying with the idea of painting the body-coloured roof panels black and tinting the T-tops to make it look almost as if it's all one piece of glass, hopefully to emphasise the smooth look I'm going for. What do we reckon people? Ideally I'd like to graduate the tint down onto the windscreen...not much, just a little at the top so there's no hard edge where the glass meets the black body panel. Anyone have any idea as to what the legal limitations are? I know you can have a sunstrip but how much is too much? Like I said, I only want to tint the very top as I value seeing out of the car! :D Cheers, Leigh.

Lol! Awwwww shucks Jock, you say the nicest things....;) :D Just don't get me started on French symbolism in the 19th century, Occultism, Canadian art-rock or pornography and we'll all be fine...:D

When you stop and think about it, nature really does produce some gloriously wonderful freaky sh1t doesn't she? Christ, imagine what the world would be like if they had been one rung ahead of us on the evolutionary ladder...from what I know of their mating habits (the mantis that is), sex would be an extreme sport for one thing  :D

Any fibreglass bods on here??
Some good links that I've referred to before on the subject: http://www.fibreglast.com/contentpages-molding+fibreglass-171.html http://winshipmodels.tripod.com/pva_mold_release.htm You can buy dedicated PVA releasing agent quite easily mate, here's one for you: http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/acatalog/index.html#infolines HTH Leigh.

couple of exterior mods???
Exactly why I got them mate! ;) I'm not a big fan of lairy kits but these just gave the Zed a more aggressive stance without going OTT. They were Jaffa's originally, I think they might've come from Luke at the Zed centre? I had them altered to create a smoother more factory fitted look. And yep, they employed the same principle that I (and most people!) used when getting shot of the fuel filler cap/aerial/re-modelling the rear bumper: cut a plate to size, tack weld it in, then fibreglass/filler over the top till blended.

You need to get in contact with Custom Concepts, http://www.customconcepts.co.uk. Before I started doing the work myself I took the car in to a bodyshop to get the front bumper modified and the skirts fitted. While it was in they ordered the door solenoid kit (you'll need an uprated 35lb+ unit to cope with the Zed's heavy doors) and fitted it for me. Not sure exactly what the price was as it went in with the other work.

couple of exterior mods???
Bodywork wise I've done the following: De-locked. De-handled. De-swaged. "Stone protection" smoothed in all round. Solenoid "popper" button fitted in both wing mirrors to open the doors. '99 spec front bumper fitted and modified to widen the front air dam. Sideskirts fitted, smoothed and blended into the bodywork. De-spoilered and smoothed tailgate. Rear wiper removed and smoothed. Passenger side rear bumper exhaust exit filled in. Drivers side exhaust exit remodelled. Aerial removed and filled. Badge removed from headlight panel. Holes filled. Side repeaters removed and smoothed. Washer jets removed, smoothed and re-sited. Lambo rear lights fitted. Limo tints on Tailgate and rear quarter glass. Laserline four point reversing sensors. Remove and re-site fuel filler cap. Work in Progress: Fit aftermarket wing mirrors with integrated repeaters. Emergency jump leads to be wired up and secured in wheel arch. Internal aerial to be fitted. Fabricate front numberplate bracket. Respray scuttle panel and wiper arms. (Complete list in my Rides section) I've still got some fairly mad non 300zx specific arches to go on but I've got to finish the remaining work before that happens :) I've charted all the DIY work in my Journal so feel free to check it out (and leave a comment if you like! ;)) Cheers, Leigh.

99 spec is definately a good option. Being polyurethane, if it does make hard contact with speedbumps etc it will flex rather than potentially crack like some fibreglass bumpers. You could even give it a twist like mine and widen the air dam. Leigh.

Modify rear bumper or newone??
Yup, I imagine it would be quite pricey if you asked a bodyshop to do the same job. TBH though, there aren't any Z32 aftermarket bumpers designed specifically for single exits out there! I wanted to keep the rear fairly subdued and in keeping with my smooth "factory fit" style ethic so as not to detract from the non-300zx specific wide arch kit that's going on ;)

A Night in!
Well, the little lady has just gone out for a drink and a curry with the girls and won't be back till late so I think I'll start by putting this: in this: then unpack and hook up this: whilst ordering this: and knocking back this! The house to myself.....as the Churchill dog would say.....ohhhh yes! :D Sorry, just had to share! :D

Only 11 days to go to number 9
I can't wait for this! I think Eccleston is a great actor (brilliant as the slightly mad major in 28 days later) and Piper showed she was more than just a teenybop flash-in-the-pan in The Canterbury Tales recently. BTW, on a random note, I have an old friend that is EXACTLY like Tom Baker. Scary.:D
-
Modify rear bumper or newone??
Funny you should mention it, I've just recently modified my own...;) :D The rear numberplate is on crooked so it makes it look a bit askew, but the lower edge is straight. There's a full write up of this and my other bodymods to date in my Journal bud. :) Leigh.
