anyone got a photo . . .
Not entirely sure as Lucie got it for my birthday! :D (Mind you I did have to circle it in the Demontweaks catalogue and leave it "casually" lying around and open at the correct page...;) :D). Think it was around the £160 mark? And yup, the boss is sold seperately mate.

Got the ZED back
I'm liking that a lot mate. Also nice to see front wings that not only look good but serve a purpose!

Respray Question
Deffo 3-4 litres! ;) :D Seriously though, particularly if you're going for a paint that's a bit different i.e. mixed to your specs, flip etc, getting a bit over what's actually needed will allow for touch up's in the future. Leigh.

Something that's never interested me mate. The Cruise control has been totally removed from my car as well to save a bit of weight!:)

Alloys: too much choice!
Update: After speaking with John, Chunk and Peach today I thought I'd have to give the "turbine style" Boss alloys a definate miss as the 8" width would just be too small on the back in 18's for decent tyres. However...I think I was originally given wrong info over the phone as I've just done a search on the net and turns out the 18's are in fact 8 1/2". This may still be too small to suit the rears though... They do make 'em in 8 1/2" fronts and 9 1/2" rears...but that's going up to 19's which may f*ck up the handling! Now I really don't know what to do! :headvswal

Removing The Dash
Lol! Nah, it ain't for the engine swap Rob! ;) :D Just something I'm thinking of doing while I wait for the engine to arrive (John's has just arrived in the docks BTW! :hyper: ) As I'm sorting out bits of the bodywork (see my Journal!), I thought I might try my hand at remodelling the interior! ;) Leigh.

Removing The Dash
Chris, when you've removed it, would you mind taking some pictures of whats left behind it as I'd be interested to know for my own project? Particularly need to know where the structural supports/brace bars are and how much room there is back there! Cheers, Leigh.

Four words: Tyres with rim protection ;)

Alloys: too much choice!
Lol! I know, I know! :D I think they're still the ones I'm going to go with but like with women, there's no harm in a spot of window shopping even when you've settled on something...:D ;)

Alloys: too much choice!
Here's a couple of better pics Alex ;) All the alloys, bar the Technomagnesio's have only just come out this 2005 (the BK ones are so new they're not even on their own website yet!) The 8 spoke ones are pretty nice looking; they're Kei Racing Force 8 alloys (the Force 10 is in another pic) and I've seen them for sale here:http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/ and http://www.topgear.co.uk/ and http://www.carstyling.co.uk/ and also on Ebay :) Leigh.

Alloys: too much choice!
Just when I thought I'd settled on what alloys I'm going with, i.e.: I only go and find some others I like! What do you guys reckon to these?: I've had the Technomagnesio Detroits before (but not the F1's) and they were a great wheel (seen them a lot on Aerial Atoms).

NZR new Nokia
V3 is a crackin' looking phone but it's let down by a tricky/slow user interface, poor camera (compared to others on the market) with no video recording only playback (plus apparently it's been plagued by some niggling problems). Don't buy it if you're after a phone with all the bells and whistles but if you're looking for one to just take care of the basics (and look good ;)), despite it's imperfections, it still stands out a mile from the crowd! Me, I eventually decided to give it a miss and go for the new Samsung D500 which looks good and does EVERYTHING! :D

Ian, was this deal finalised in the end? I only ask as I'll be in the market for a complete set of 18's very soon! :) Cheers, Leigh.

Buying new alloys: wheel sizes (again!)
Blimey! Didn't realise I could go that big on the rears mate! :D I bet they look great, though do you find there's any detrimental effect on the handling at all?

Buying new alloys: wheel sizes (again!)
Ok, so if the offset on the Boss wheels (which I prefer) is 35 and the Zed needs an offset of 30 on the front, will the difference be able to be corrected somehow? Sorry for my ignorance on this! Also, with them being 8", what size tyres could I/ should I go up to on the fronts and rears? Cheers, Leigh.

Franz and Ferdinand! (It ties in with the German theme!;)) :D :D :D

Buying new alloys: wheel sizes (again!)
Lol! I never looked at it like that! ;) :D Although I did read recently about the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren which has got finned turbine-blade alloy wheels which, when combined with wheel well air intakes, cool the brakes. Doubt that'll happen with these but you never know ;) I just thought they looked great when I saw a similar alloy on the Veilside 350Z! :)

Wtf

Buying new alloys: wheel sizes (again!)
Yeah...before I knew they were a better price they're the ones that caught my eye first :) By the way, I should say that my alloys will be up for sale soon if I can get this sorted! ;)

Buying new alloys: wheel sizes (again!)
Decided to finally take the plunge and get a new set of 18" alloys to replace my lovely race-look 17's and finish off the Zed's new bodywork. I've been looking at a particular type for some time now but have finally got round to chasing up the details in earnest. Basically it's between these two (I posted these ages ago, but here they are again!;)),the Boss XTT and the ACE C036 Aviator: They're both now available in an 18's but it's the width fitments that I need advice on. The Boss is only available in an 8" width fitment. The ACE is available in either 8 1/2" all round or 8 1/2" front x 9 1/2" rear width fitment. So: 1.Would 8" be too small on the back and would 9 1/2" be too big? 2. The Boss offset is 35 (which I think is ok?) however the ACE (I was told) is 20. Bearing in mind I'm running GTR brakes on the front, would there be clearance issues? Would a spacer solve it? 3. What would be the minimum and the maximum tyre widths I could use on each of these rims, front and back? I should also say one thing in the Boss XTT wheels favour: it's that I can get them a helluva lot cheaper than the ACE! Sorry for the questions, I know this keeps coming up, but I can't seem to get my head round the figures! :o If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Leigh.
