Deffo can't wait for this summer! Just got to keep my fingers crossed that my car's finished enough to enjoy it! ;)...I miss my Zed! :(
  2. [shudder] Have you seen her close up....? Christ, I wouldn't like to meet that down a dark alley! :hurl: Bonnet scoop aside, the individual parts might be ok but together they've made an absolute massacre of that whole front end IMO! And the "wide arch" monstrosity? I'm all for DIY but.....did he do it for a bet?
  3. Sweet Jesus and all the little orphans! Found these two beauties on CarDomain.com: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/458204/1 http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/697679/1 When it comes to modifying some people just need taking out and shooting. :slap: ;) BTW, if Brian's "wife" ain't packin' heat, I'll eat my hat!
  4. Just stumbled upon this on t'interweb. Not entirely my cup of cha but might be of interest to those looking for a bit of alternative "bling" ;) : http://www.z-tekmfg.com/index.html Quite like the Z playing cards though! :D Leigh.
  5. No,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,NO! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal Change the bodywork, fit a kit, change the colour and the alloys, whatever you like but for God's sake if you're going to do it, do it with some style! All IMHO of course ;) :D
  6. They're a JDM only part. There was a company over there selling them a while back for silly money (£300ish I think?) but not sure if they still are (can't for the life of me find the link, sorry :( ). Mine came with one but TBH I never really liked it so I sold it. Even second hand these things can still fetch quite a bit (in good nick) as the original ones are like rocking horse sh1te to get hold of.
  7. Saw your interview, or should I say your Zed's interview, in the last one mate ;) Fame at last eh? :D Leigh
  8. Nice one Mark, sounds like it's going to look great! Simple, clean, smooth and "factory fitted" have all been watchwords behind my exterior mods and they equally apply to the interior. Would be interested to see your progress mate! :)
  9. Wasn't aware of any off the shelf bolt on chargers available for the VH45DE Mark. Would be interested to know more :)
  10. Lol! When you put it like that I can see your point mate! :D It's not my favorite but what I liked was that it looked clean and uncluttered. Like you say, a lot of Zeds end up looking a mess with all the aftermarket bits we fit inside them. Would be nice to make a dash that would still give out all the information we need but with a bit of style about it ;)
  11. You'd have to be a fairly radical liberal to not see that a) giving children decent food instead of reconsituted sludge filled with fat and E numbers, and that b) children need guidance for their own well being, are good things.
  12. True. And it was a point made in the series. Which is why they took the choice away. Knock on effect: Lots of complaints in the initial set-up period, lots of kids refusing the food. But then, after going hungry at lunch for a couple of days they tried it. And found that no, it wouldn't kill them and yes, it actually tasted good and the kids got over their aversion to trying new food. Plus, with the "unhealthy" food eliminated there was no peer pressure not to eat the "healthy" option.
  13. Oooooh...I can almost bask in the glow of your smugness from here. Bet you even chuckled slightly to yourself as you wrote that thinking how clever you were. ;)
  14. There's no supercharger specifically made for the Q45 as yet although a custom unit has been produced. However there are a couple of guys in the States who are now working on a new unit alongside the creator of the original custom supercharger, Thomas Knight (http://www.boosthead.com/) which could prove interesting. Although the Q45 engine loves boost, as John says, we're not doing it for the bhp ;) Leigh.
  15. Nice! Like the way everything curves round to focus on the driver. Very clean and simple layout as well. Think I might end up having a go at this! I'd have to pass it over to someone else for a leather re-trim when finished (I know my limitations!;)) but I can't see why creating a new dash in fibreglass should be any different from any other sculpture I've made. Really need a second knackered dash to experiment on now!
  16. Mmmm...I love the smell of social stereotypes in the morning  ;)
  17. Interesting Roy. Assuming that is that their parents can actually afford to give them a decent meal when they're home. It's a sad FACT that unfortunately in some families the only "decent" meal a child will eat will be at school. I definately agree it's down to bad parenting in the situation you describe though.
  18. Prior to the programme I didn't think much of him but TBH I now take it all back. Anyone who puts his neck on the line as he has for a cause he believes in gets my vote. It comes to something when you have to lobby a government to get them to provide good food for children. What does that say about the kind of society we live in? Suffice to say I've put my name down and I urge others to do the same! :) Leigh.
  19. Here's another one from yesterday. Hope you don't mind me posting it John, I think it gives a good indication of it's relative size...i.e. a bloody huge beast! :D Hard to believe when seeing it but it's actually lighter than our stock engine by about 100lbs. After seeing John's I can't wait till mine arrives from Japan now...:D Leigh. P.S. The picture was taken not long after John had wrestled with the World's Most Well Put Together Shipping Crate. It was a close one, but John won in the end on points... ;) And I won't mention the Pallet incident either... :slap: ;)
  20. I've got a few ideas in mind mate but really I was just curious, after thinking about doing it, as to what interiors people particularly liked and why, as I've been surfing the net looking at lots of different types. For example, I found this the other night (see attachment). I don't like everything about it but some aspects caught my eye such as the metal finishings, leather trim and bold shapes. Thought it might be interesting to see if anyone had any favorites!
  21. Agreed on the TVR interior. There's something about the way the centre channel merges into the dash, it's almost organic. The complete leather covering is also a massive plus in my book and with not one bit of plastic on show! A cautionary tale of what happens when you combine partial insomnia with having too much time on your hands! :D
  22. Although I quite like the interior of the Zed I've been toying with the idea of re-modelling the interior for a while now, possibly putting my arty-farty skills into action and sculpting a new dash, doorcards, rear install etc. It's kind of got me thinking: what makes a good interior? What does everyone reckon? What's your favorite car interior and why? If you've got pics, post 'em. I'm interested in what aspects of the design (either already in the Zed or in another car) that make it stand out for you. On the flip side of things, is there anything that you really hate? Post up your thoughts folks...;) Cheers, Leigh.

Coming over Darius?...Me?...With my reputation? PMSL!

Mate, I'm just glad you're still here to tell the tale! The world would be a helluva lot more boring place without good blokes like you :D (Christ, I'm coming over all Darius...can you feel the love in the room? :hurl:  ) Leigh.
  25. Don't get me wrong, although I've removed them and smoothed over the hole, it was always the plan to resite them (in different form) somewhere else; either fabricating some into the existing OEM wing mirrors or buying aftermarket, non Zed specific mirrors with integrated repeaters and altering the attachment plate to fit. However, as I haven't got round to sorting either solution out yet, and since the car is drivable despite the modifications to the bodywork still going on, I just wanted to know if I could get away with driving it on the road in the meanwhile. What originally made me think was that when she was in the bodyshop a couple of months back, I mentioned removing the repeaters and they said you only need them for the MOT and suggested I do as others have done and get some temporary repeaters with "sticky backs" wired in, keep them tucked away in the bay and flip them out for the MOT...
