  1. Cheers for the heads up Rich, will PM and see! :) Sounds very interesting mate! Lap-Tab is only about 20 mins away from me as well which could be handy. If you happen to speak to him would you mind asking if it's something that could be done? ;) Leigh.
  2. Found a great set of alloys but the only drawback is they're chrome which wasn't originally what I had in mind for the Zed. Does anyone know if an alloy wheel refurbisher would be able to strip off the chrome and refinish them in silver/polished silver or even the more subtle smoked chrome etc...? Any info would be appreciated! Cheers, Leigh
  3. Just posted some more pics in my Journal ;) Leigh.
  4. Check out my car in the Rides section bud! ;)
  5. Thanks guys :) Don't mind you asking at all bud :) £500 for the engine, a low mileage '92 (41631 miles), £200 for shipping through YA Logistics and £150 for taxes and customs clearance through ITS Maritime. It should go ok, just fingers crossed there won't be too many unexpected problems along the way!;) I was pleasantly suprised to see that (externally anyway) it's in such good condition mate. Johns engine was stripped further and cleaned up a bit more on Saturday. Also took measurements for the dry sump. :)
  6. Left at the unfeasibly early time of 5:30 this morning to travel down to Southampton docks to pick up the V8. It seems she's survived the voyage from Japan in one piece despite only being tied to a pallet and covered with plastic sheeting and a cardboard box! Arrived back this afternoon and stored her in the garage. Very tired but very pleased! :D Will post some more photos in my Journal later on. Leigh.
  7. Jesus...really sorry to hear you guys ended up with a lemon of a unit and have to go through the hassle of sending it back :( Thanks for posting your test results, you've saved me forking out for something that clearly isn't all it's cracked up to be! Leigh.
  8. Found these links on another forum today. The Satellite feature alone is very cool but then, as you can see in the second link, you realise the huge potential for breaching America's National Security! Bonus! :D http://maps.google.com http://www.livejournal.com/community/the_unexplained/37956.html#cutid1 Just wish they did one for the UK! ;)
  9. Cheers Dave, that's appreciated mate! :) Would be very interested to hear how the next round of testing pans out! Leigh.
  10. Chop off and smooth in those wings at the sides and it would look ok IMO.
  11. Dave, I'm interested in getting one of these. How big is the unit and does it have to be placed in a certain area of the windscreen? Could it be mounted into a backless pod to make it more discreet or does it have to be suction cupped to the glass. With the work I'm going to do on the interior I'm a bit concerned it's going to look a bit of an eyesore in there. What do you reckon mate? Bloody good price though!
  12. Nice Merkin. Are they available from the traders? ;)
  13. Introducing the new 007...think he'll be pretty good myself. A tougher more edgy Bond hopefully. http://www.rediff.com/movies/2005/apr/06bond.htm
  14. I'm having the same problem bud. It's difficult finding "nice" wheels in the right size/width fitment etc. TBH it looks like I'm going to end up importing a set.
  15. Seriously mate, don't put 7/7.5" width alloys on. They are WAY too small. Less width=less tread "footprint"=less traction. Remember you're driving a 3 litre, twin turbo'd car! They might be ok for the Saxo/Corsa brigade but not for our cars.
  16. Quick! Dig up an old post and be 32 again! :D Happy Birthday mate, hope you have a good 'un! :D Leigh.
  17. Hit the nail on the head there. And in a way that even I could understand! Good to think a company like Stoptech have taken the time to compile that information. Very, very useful John :)

Good advice their mate. I know from what you've told me before that you can handle yourself Karl but go in with your eyes and ears well open fella. Doesn't help that it's not a good part of town where they're based (near the B.C.F.C. ground). Trouble is there's way too many new gangs sprouting up in Birmingham at the moment. They're worse than the old "established" gangs that have been here 30-40 years: big into gun culture and drugs with no morals at all. Sorry, going a bit off topic there!

If so, I went there about 2 years ago with a mate of mine and his brother when he was looking at buying some lights from them. I don't know if it's still run by the same people but from what I saw then I wouldnt've touched them with a barge pole. They seemed very shady characters, their premises was run down and the tiny workshop was a total mess. A couple of months back I saw a yellow Zed that I believe they fitted with their "Nismo" bodykit in a garage in Tysley, Birmingham (was looking at BMW's for my mate at the time). The quality and fit was truly abysmal. As I said before, I don't know whether it's still run by the same people but it sounds like it might be. Hope it goes ok for you mate :(

Are these guys (Badboy styling) based in Birmingham mate?
  21. Aaaaargh...being attacked by dead posts...can't...fight...losing...strength...
  22. Please. For the sake of the children. Stop this madness. :wack:
  23. Ditto!!  I've never seen Lucie move so fast! She's just informed me she's no longer talking to me and locked me out of the bedroom! PMSL!
  24. Cheers mate, I'm about to call! :D Leigh.
