what Z inspired you?
Eh? Think I'm having a senior moment as you've lost me mate! :D Would be good to see you do something like that! :)

Carbon F and F/Glass Tailgate.
Also need to take into account the method and what level of finish/strength/weight you want to achieve on the final one. Autoclaved pre-preg composite parts are high quality but high cost; oven cured pre-preg composite: medium quality, medium cost; resin infusion composite: low to medium quality and likewise for the cost; wet lay composite parts: low quality but low cost. Edit: read the post wrong the first time, lol! :D

Carbon F and F/Glass Tailgate.
Good luck to you, FG (or CF) work can be tough but very rewarding. I might be a little concerned about the effect a lightened rear end would have on balance and traction though. Obviously under acceleration the front lifts slightly and transfers weight to the rear but under slippery/wet conditions this would be cancelled out and I imagine at high speed the car could feel a little (or possibly a lot) twitchy. Might be worth looking into different functional spoilers/ground effects to even things out? Or am I talking out of my bum? :D

Best film ever made?
£2.99!! B@stardos! Shouldn't have got it straight away and waited! lol! Mind you the deleted scenes found in the directors cut are hidden as Easter Eggs on the original release...it's only the penultimate scene that is really changed I think?

Best film ever made?
Difficult to sum up the essence of Donnie Darko! You have to resort to contradictions! It's dream-like but coherent, existential yet grounded (mystical concepts yet still rooted in reality: it's still about kids growing up and trying to cope with life), the cinematography is first rate, the 80's setting resonates with me (the references and music used are spot on...ie the reworking of Tears for Fears "Mad World" plus countless other more instantly recognisable scores) and the weirdness quotient is set just about right for my (slightly bizarre admittedly) tastes. :D All in all a very moving film that just works SO well. Plus Drew Barrymore as eye candy (albeit a bit wooden in places!) :D

Inland UK engine delivery.
Cheers mate, nice one. Much appreciated! :)

Best film ever made?
Blade Runner is a classic and no mistake (though has to be the directors cut without the added voice over...) Too many to narrow it down for me but stand out films in my mind are: Leon Fight Club Empire Strikes Back Donnie Darko The Life of Brian 28 Days Later The Shawshank Redemption Eraserhead Blue Velvet

Inland UK engine delivery.
Just read mowg's parcel courier post and thought I'd expand the boundaries slightly. Due to muppets at docks not reading clear markings and written instructions, I now have an engine on a pallet sitting in Essex when it should've been in Liverpool! Unfortunately I can't collect myself so will have to arrange delivery. I'm waiting to see what rates the shipping company can give me on inland haulage but can anyone else recommend a good, reliable and reasonably priced haulage company to transport the engine from Essex to Wrexham? Cheers, Leigh.

New zed video - Very good!
Good vid, nice one :) Seen everything but the track sequence before and that was great to see. And the music from that part might've been the b@stard son of Dave Brubeck's "Take 5" and R.E.M.'s "Nightswimming" but it sounded ok to me...:D ;)

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
My car before things took a nice turn into the Twilight zone of modifying ('scuse the hastily zip tied number plate ;) ): Nissan OEM '99 spec front bumper fitted and modified to widen the front airdam. Nissan OEM J-Spec rear bumper remodeled. Stillen Type III side skirts fitted, smoothed and blended into the bodywork. De-locked. De-handled. De-swaged. De-badged. De-spoilered and smoothed tailgate. "Stone protection" smoothed in all round. Solenoid "popper" button fitted in both wing mirrors to open the doors. Rear wiper removed and smoothed. Fuel filler cap removed , smoothed over and re-sited in boot. Aerial removed and smoothed over. Side repeaters removed and smoothed. Washer jets removed, smoothed and re-sited. These mods weren't OTT IMO and could be done by someone not wanting to go too mad with the exterior and end up with a smooth almost "factory fit" look. Leigh

NZR Decent engine breakers?
If you have no luck in the UK I could probably get hold of a very good low mileage one in Japan for you. Cheers, Leigh

If it's white smoke it "could" be something as innocuous as condensation.

Friday, when's your Zed gonna be finished????
Lol! The trouble with me is I tend to get a mad idea and unlike saner people, I run with it! :D Was originally fabricating some R34 Skyline lights into the back-end but saw the round lights that I have and thought they went perfectly with the look that we're going for. And again, I personally prefer the 2 pot design to the 3. Mark's afterburner lights are nice but a bit OTT for me ;) (I like grunge! ;)) The main design buzz words for the original brief and drawings were: aggressive, smooth, factory-fit, stylish (with a nod to the DTM and Japanese GT series). No lairy coloured flips, metal flakes or graphics (at the most a TVR-esque flip). Once the exterior and engine is finished the interior and install will be completed over the autumn/winter...custom dash, door cards, rear sub & amp install (sponsored by Matt at Nearfield Audio)...fingers crossed it should be nice when it's done We're hoping this car will rattle a few cages both in the UK and outside if all goes well. One thing a few may find interesting is that a version of it will be produced as a kit...;)

No, the ones on the photo above are the "old style" round lights (yep, from a Fiat). They're a bit small for my liking so I bought a set of different lights a couple of years ago from the original maker. A few companies now sell this light conversion in both "2 pot" and "3 pot" forms. Here's an old photo of mine with them on:
