Tyre wear on all four
My tyres are all wearing on the insides there making a sort of groove on the edge, does anyone know why this is, ive just replaced the tension rods and had it tracked, and everything else looks ok? (I have 18''s) oh and while im at it does anyone know why when I go over a bump the front suspension knocks and creecks sometimes quite bad creeking as if something was dry and rubbing on something. many thanks pals JIM.

Attn: 51x
hi mate not the replie you where looking for, just thought id share an experience had a GTI-R bout 2 years ago, ordered some special cams to be made (high lift) never agian would I fit these to a road car. the revs under 1500 were terrible to drive with, the turbo took longer to spool etc... I had them all set up properly and tunned to perfection but still they disagreed with the engine. not trying to put you off mate or not saying that the zed will behave the same way. just thought I would share this with you matie Jim:)

De-cat replacement pipes for TT
charles your right! if it's grey then you've got a over fueling prob somewhere? maybe lamda sensors or some thing like that, I don't really know to much about over fueling mate. blue smoke is oil... Jim;)

De-cat replacement pipes for TT
Charles, in most cases removing the cats just reveals what was always there but hidden by the cats! they do say that removing the cats leads to premature turbo seal failure, but if your car has been serviced regular ie oil changes and your seals are in good nick then, not oftern much of a problem. I took the risk of removing mine, after I had a new exhaust fitted. upon start up in a morning, after idling for about 10 minutes I do get a little smoke out of both sides, sometimes it's only one! then thats it for the day. It now dos'nt do it at all when its really cold. is it blue smoke (OIL) or white smoke (water) or greyish (fuel)? what oil are you using? maybe changing to a slightly thicker oil might help. It does sound as though your seals are on there way out though mate if its smoking in traffic and on cool down. It happens to us all at some point, its just a matter of when.... hope this helps you a bit mate. regards Jim ;)

De-cat replacement pipes for TT
hi charles, I don't know figure wise what sort of BHP improvment I got , its more torque low down the rev range at about 1500 revs, know its getting cold and wet the roads are becoming real greasy and, the wheels spin far to easy, rather adictive to be honest!! Jim.:)

hi mate, I have the 600 watt active sub in my boot. If you remove the passenger side polystrene tray and modify the tye down mount a little (sticks up to far), the sub will nearly sit on the boot floor (on top of the boot carpet) and you can then shut the boot and you can have your blind closed. you do still have a very slight bulge in the blind but hardly noticable. Jim ;)

Thermostat change
I had to do mine when one split, they have those really anoying french clips that you have to sqeeze together and there all on wrong way round facing downwards. you'll need a pair of extra long nose pliers. they are alot easyer to put back on than removel, I found a mirror helped me too. hope this helps a bit Jim;)

sweet spot
does everyone owning a tt auto seem to have a sweet spot on thier accelerator, I only ask because rather than pressing foot to floor fast when wanting to overtake, if i lightly press the pedal it seems different?, even when sat in traffic, the slightest press in the right place sends me hurtling forward. just curious if other peoples feel like this? cheers good people jim.
