RIGHT, this could be a little in depth. the plugs i had in where uk prf6b11c (sorry for the mistake), now today ive been in the garage and took the plugs out, had a look inside the cylinders and poked a long magnetic screwdriver in there, there seems to be what looks like copper grease on top of the pistons when scrapped? and very tiny metal filings came out on the end of the screwdriver(all cylinders), the plugs i took out looked as if they'd just been put in, very clean very white centre core. (no lightly coloured sandy dust). ive just checked the tps, it's fine. I conected my dodgey det sensor, and then went for a spin..........still the same i can hear what sounds to be a rattle on boost at about 40/50 mph but no saftey boost even at 100 mph no saftey boost no (code 34) the needle on the boost gauge goes just past the last mark (not the end one) it dose'nt ''rattle'' every time but it's been doing it for about a month now, I thought it was one of the turbos. ive ran it on optimax for about 3 to 4 months now but used to run it on super unleaded and unleaded. I don't really want to alter the timing as I don't have the timing tool. does any one have any suggestions or what else I can try as im getting slightly woried about piston faliure. many many thanks to all JIM. :( :(

SORRY! it is on uk plugs PRF711C should i put the jap ones backin PFR711?

I have detonation all of a sudden in my jap import tt jap import, im running optimax with jap plugs, it sound's quite bad! I seem to be getting it and a code 34, would changing the plugs to uk one's make a difference. (standard boost) what can I do my good friends?? need help! Jim :cry:

hi ive just reconnected the det sensor and I still get the rattle and the car feels real heavy to pull? Im considering adjusting my timing also, but are a little unsure about it! it's a strange one it does'nt sound like it's detting?, but I don't want to fry a piston. Jim

if the timing is to far advanced, (it's never been moved) would this cause the slight tappet rattle when foot is pressed on the pedal slightly (bliping the throttle) and I also have hesitation from standing start? any help greatly appriciated! Jim

hi lads thanks for the replies, I am running standard everything but ive ahd some trouble with the code 34 for about 6 months now I tested the det sensor and it was reading low on the sensor side, so i bypassed it with a resister and I got no code! so it must be the det sensor, because when i connect it back up i get the code agian! it has been ok with no codes and bypassed up to now. do you all think im actually detting? and if so why is this, its a jap import tt running on optimax all the time? cheers jim.

hi everyone, I only way I can describe this is when on boost at about 3000/4000 revs accelerating, there sound to be (now and agian) a rattle coming from the passenger side turbo or around there, does any one know what this could be? cheers JIM.

I bought a new one from nissan ,both the sendors (on the front of alloy casting) but I havnt replaced the harness? Jim

hi everyone, I know this has been done to death on here but I still carn'nt find out why? when pulling away from start my car seems to hesitate for a second then pull away, if you get the sweet spot it pull's great but if you press it to much it waits for a bit? all my conectors are clean. ive done the following. spark plugs (ngk) air filter battery fuel filter tryed moving the setting the tps replaced the pcvvs fuel cleaner cleaned throttle bodies reset ecu there no fault codes, and the car idles perfect. the only other thing I will say is the car never seems to drive the same each day, somedays its really powerfull and other days it feel as though you really have to plant your foot to get any where. I did have a det sensor falure code 34 and the circuit showed a low reading so Ive bypassed it for now with a 1meg ohm resister. and reset to codes. any kind of light shed on to all of this would be very greatful many thanks to all for reading Jim.:confused:

hi mate, ive just had all this trouble with mine also, its been about 6 months now since mine started to go into saftey boost, I tested my det sensor circuit and found to be the problem! so ive bypassed mine for now untill I can find a det sensor second hand. the car go great and Ive never had knock before anyway, I run mine on optimax. my car never seems to drive the same everyday anyway it sometime feels really powerfull and other days seems to be real heavy??? cheers lads It was the the tension rod bolts! , the passenger side bolts had worked their way to finger tight! all done! Jim;) ;)

cheers lads, ill get under there in morning, are the anti roll bar link bars (small ball joints) supposed to be really slack and flimsy, there usually real stiff and packed with grease ar'nt they? cheers Jim

hi every one I do my best to describe this! upon braking quite hard I can hesar and feel a knock, then when I pull away it knocks agian, ive just done the tension rods so carn't be that, just been undercar with wheels in the air and I carn't see anything worn , but the anti roll bar links do feel really slack , (loads of movement in the ball joints) the suspension does knock when I go over bumps. could it be the anti roll bar links that cause this knocking and cluncking when braking? many thanks mates for any advice. hi, could someone just put my mind at rest... mines a tt import with the cats removed 91 j reg will it pass an the emissions test without removing that little pipe on the balance bar? because it's a 91 should it have a cat test anyway? cheers for any advice jim.;)

hi every one, just thought id share this with you all as it concerns everyone with a zed. looking every where for an insurance quote this year was with liverpool victoria but they quoted me 1000 this year, last year it was 700 full comp? anyway sacked them off and had a quick look through the insurance threds on here, found one saying ring (houghton insurance and ask for ''ken salmon'') did so and over the moon with the quote he said he'd given me a discount for being a zed member! 619.00 full comp, unlimited millage, alloys and other mods declared, 91, twin turbo (import) 5 years ncb, 26, cat 1 alarm!! this has taken the burden off the insurance this year and well pleased, he said they,ve started to do alot for 300zx.co.uk club and will be offering discounts to all (members) , I told him i would post something about this level of service on here.
