  1. yep, my Jap NA is adjustable for height. Buttons on the side of the seat
  2. I have hit a deer in the past, wrote off the transit I was driving, and the bugger still didnt die. Somebody up there likes you :)
  3. Thats a crank pulley. I reckon a couple of hours would see that on, if you are due a 60k service, you could do it as part of that.
  4. Is is not possible to clean these valves rather than replace them? Or am I being cheap?
  5. yeah, i did, but I cant imagine the inlet outlet pulleys being any more difficult. Cant tell you what the new ones have, never seen a set close up, but would imagine they either come with the various gubbins fitted, or more likely with holes to fit the old stuff. If it doesnt have either, gotta reason they are not for the zed:D
  6. The wire to the amp that was fitted in my car when I bought it was run through the bulkhead, behind the dash, down by the side of the drivers leg (behind fascia) under the plastic kick plate (if you take the kick plate off and lift the crapet you will find a load of wiring there) under the back side panels and then into the boot. HTH
  7. the pulley will be easier than the header , in my opinion. Having taken the pulley off to do the 60k sevice I would guess you could change it in a few hours with basic tools
  8. I had the volvo serviced this week, found a fault in the ECU, £600 to replace. UNIPART now do an ECU repair service, with a proposed 48 hr turnaround. Sent mine off today will let you know how it goes

if it has had a KMH to MPH conversion that will lift the restriction anyway, as far as I know, the black bock robs the signal going back to the ecu of every third signal, so the ecu thinks you are doing a third of the speed (also if its only getting 2/3 signal the KMH speedo reads in MPH) and so you would need to be doing 170+ to hit the limiter. To check the ecu, get it out, open it up and see if the chip is soldered in place or is in a socket, if it is soldered it is unlikely to have been chipped. HTH
  10. Have heard that headers are the way to go, all about tuning lengths and direct paths, supposed to be good for reasonable gains. The one I have seen have been in the £600 ballpark. Have heard the same about lightweight pulleys, but there is a school of thought that says the pulley is weighted for a reason and if you remove it you are putting serious strains on the engine. Its apparently ok for race cars as they get rebuilt regularly. Be interested to know what you go with and what it does for the NA. Also polishing of intakes is supposed to do wonders for the power. I think anything that smooths the flow of air into and out of the engine is good, but you need to leave some rough in the intake as it creates turbulance which is supposedly good

scuse my stupidity here....but a catch tank for what? And if it is 71/2 inch high and 21/2 in diameter, it might fit in the space where you take the AIVs from , or the plastic tank that you take out the wing??
  12. cheers jeff
  13. I always vote conservative, at least you know that they are robbing b@stards, rather that than have Tone and prime minister Cherie tell me a load of lies then rob me anyway
  14. Whilst mucking about removing the vaccum pipe from my AIVs came across an unconnected rubber hose at the back of the engine. Heater matrix has been bypassed, fair enough I thought a job to do. On closer examination the pillock who done it has used one of the heater matrix pipes as a bypass. Due to the fact that it is formed to shape, it has bent almost closed where it has been forced on to the other side. Apart from causing my engine to run hot, which it does, I cant think of any other problems. Anyone ? Obviosly am going to rectify it tomorrow :D
  15. Done my AIVs today as per this link aiv removal Thought I would add that where the guy who wrote this says to ignore the other large pipe coming out of the AIV (the one that doesnt go to the exhaust and isnt the vaccum pipe) I followed it to a plastic tank under the wing, held on by two bolts and a nut. At first I couldnt get it past the wire looms, but I pushed out the side repeater, disconnected it, and the tank came free. Dont know if others have sussed this, thought I would post it anyway
  16. lifetime guarantee I used these guys, cant go wrong with their guarantee, cos they are hand made the welds are not as tidy as a machine, but the system sounds great and works the same.
  17. very good :)
  18. I have driven both. In my humble opinion the GTO was a very smooth car, easy to drive very fast and chock full of gadgets. The 300zxTT was more of a drivers car, I felt that I was inputting to the car and getting decent feedback from it. In a sense I would compare them to the two cars I have now one, my volvo S70 is a great car, excellent on motorways, around town, comfortable, luxurious and not slow but, feels the same at 40 as it does at 140. The zed I bought because I had to DRIVE it rather than sit in it and press the correct pedal. Hope this helps
  19. Two types of digital camcorders in essence. Type one records a digital image onto a magnetic tape Type two records a digital image onto a memory stick one is reasonably cheap, a little bit of a pain in the arse cause you cant put the tape into a converter like you used to do with mini tapes, you can only play it back using the camera as a player. two is quite expensive and limited by the size of memory stick you put into it. You can download the stick directly into your pc, or play it onto the tv using camera as player I have type one and it is ok, would like type two, but too expensive for the amount I use it. Like most gadgets you spendd the first three weeks filming everything that moves, then stick it away (in my case under my desk) and it doesnt see the light of day from one year end to the next HTH
  20. the ruling used to be that the plate had to be visible from directly behind the vehicle. Thats why you used to see a lot of bikes with it mounted ynder the rear end (visible from the back but not above). You may well find that the ubstanfuhrers at the dept of transport have changed this. Although as most speed cameras work on the rear plate I think you will prob get away with it on the front
  21. welcome to the forum :) I usually say I will eat anything with a face, but that doesnt do it for me
  22. Absolutely mate, but you do realise what youve started now .lol
  23. sorry to hear of your probs mate. Only thing I can say is a very small amount of oil dropped onto a hot eaxhaust will create a bucket load of smoke, so the leak, or overflow may not be as big as you think
  24. mrs scoob 1 Scoob 0 :)
