  1. Andy, bigbscan, thanks for the replies. Andy, did try update, but it only wanted to give me security updates. I will scarf a copy of XP, it seems the way to go
  2. if anywhere i would do a search on trading standards, trades descriptions act. As far as I am aware you can give it back if it doesnt meet the description, either wrtitten or oral, or implied

Mate, what a 'kin nightmare. Glad you walked away, but feel for you losing your zed. Big of you to think of the benefit to others as well. :) top bloke
  4. Running windows ME. Have a USB 4 port hub, which is on the system and showing no problems in Device manager. Having problems getting windows to recognise anything I plug into the hub, especially my USB/parallel printer adapter. Initially it recognised it as an unknown usb, but wouldnt accept the driver for it, now, although it shows up on the power properties for the hub as connected, it doesnt show on device manager. tried unplugging/ resetting etc. The whole lot was working before i reloaded windows ME. Any ideas? is XP any better?
  5. You lot want a nice little NA, you do, save you all this trouble :D
  6. stuart, How much you looking for, for them?
  7. I liked the look of those conversions till he told me they were £900
  8. Stuart, the TC cuts the fuel to the cylinder, but not the NOS fuel supply, which is the problem. If the TC dtects slipping, and cuts the cylinder supply, there will still be a nos fuel supply, and a nos supply feeding the cylinder. These supplys will keep coming until you take your foot off the throttle (presuming your running a WOT system). It is a common misconception that NOS is a single small injection, it is a constant feed, controlled by your throttle position, or a timer, depending on your system
  9. Aaron, Am planning to build a wet system. And yes I did buy the RTLC for 6 (actually 8) cylinders. The other option may be to cut the rtlc through the NOS arming switch, so that if you arm the NOS it kills the TC, not ideal I know, but I would rather that than have my engine blow up cos the two rreacted badly
  10. Nige, am slowly becoming an expert on NOS :) The whole hidden thing is about rather than having a 'kin great blue or silver bottle sticking out of your boot, and multi couloured tubes and wires sticking out of your engine bay, I just thought it would be more sensible to pug it away, I think a nos bottle or two smaller ones would look better in the spare wheel bay, cos who uses that yellow abortion anyway, and the piping can be done in black, tucked out of the way with the injectors going in the underneath of the TB intakes, that way you dont loose your boot space, and anyone having a look at your engine wont be able to tell what you have in there, not to mention the fact that all the anodised/ coloured bits cost a lot more. IE the difference between a polished alloy bottle (150 -200) and a steel bottle (35) Admittedly there is a weight difference, but we are talking in pounds here, I personally would rather have a few more pounds in my boot (never a bad thing in a RWD) and a lot more in my wallet anyday
  11. I would imagine the main difference is in the chip, tho not sure
  12. srrae- dont have a boost controller (didnt think it would help on an NA:)). Progresive Nos works over a time basis, it bleeds in from your chosen percentage power (30,40,50%) up to full power over your chosen time (1-10 sec). If it cuts the fuel, I would imagine that I can put the power to the pulsoids in the same loop, thus cutting standard fuel, nos fuel and nos?? Soon find out as a kind gentleman on Ebay has just sold me his "in the box" RLTC for 295 of your best british pounds :D Nigel, in the case you mention I would imagine the best thing you could do is remove the nos, or, as I plan to do, install a "hidden system in the first place. As it happens tho, when I insured my zed I was not asked about modifications to the car, and when I specifically asked about it , was told that they were "not interested if I had modded it" on the basis that if you have modded your car, and it can be proven that the mod caused the accident, they wont pay out anyway. Same was said about dark visors on crash helmets a while back, wear em if you like, but if it causes an accident or contributes to it, the insurance company wont pay for your damage and will try to recover third party damages they do pay
  13. Driving home from billing last night in the wet was "interesting" Didnt help that was running conzult at the time and was trying to get as broad a spectrum of responses as I could, flat out acceleration in the pissing rain is not a good thing:) So, traction control, couple of Q's Is Race logic the only one on the market? Will it work with NOS? As far as I am aware it works by cutting fuel pulses, would that leave me with nos flowing? I know you shouldnt be using Nos in any situation that you need traction control, but things happen. And was thinking more of the launch control, would it bugger up a progressive nos controller? Any help?
  14. Any number of things you can do. Welding is one, Holts do a range of repair kits (Halfords) which, if you follow instructions work well (best to use one with some sort of binding clamp if you can) you can even cut a section out and slide a piece of slightly larger pipe over the top and clamp it in place. Over the years have done all the above and they have all worked. Also look to see where the hole is, it may be on one of the short sections of exhaust, which is chheaply replaced. HTH
  15. Well I just got back from billing and it was a bloody good day. :D
  16. and head south. I know it may be obvious, but had someone go north in the past. not taking the piss :)
  17. try Longlife exhausts Longlife Lifetime warranty
  18. you can down load bin files to put on chips(iirc you've just fitted 555s?) so all you need is a programmer to put it on a chip.
  19. Found this on ebay, couldnt find the ferrari bodystyling tho:)

Imagine that with a 6.5" screen running conzult software and an EPROM emulator. Coming over all Fast and Furious. lol. ONly thing is you would spend so much time watching the screen, you'd be an accident waiting to happen :)
