  1. I will be, got the voting info pack through the other day and being a bit bored sat down to read the manifestos. It is slightly worrying when the BNP comes across as more balanced and thought out than the leading political parties. Everyone knows (apart from Mr Blair) that unchecked immigration is a problem but, due to the fact that the Guardianistas have labelled anyone who talks about it as "racist and little englander" the only people who talk about it sensibly are the "fascist right wing". There is something seriously wrong with this country.
  2. Steve, yours wont bolt straight on, mike would need the whole pipe from the downpipe to the end of the cats :(
  3. looks alright to me bud :)
  4. By rights you should put a gasket on it, to take the irregulkarities out of the mating surfaces. My move would be either make a gasket out of thick card (corn flake box is my weapon of choice) or use a proprietary gasket sealant. This is not a pressure joint, it is just to stop spurious air leaks.

  6. Welcome mate:) As someone who has owned an NA and a TT, stick with the NA:) Its not as fast, but its just as much fiun to drive, just as eye catching and a LOT less fragile :)
  7. welcome back mate :)
  8. not IT here either ( but do know a bit :))
  9. At one stage last year we did talk about putting a spec sheet in the car window with a pic of the owner on it, so that people could a) see what had been done to the car and b) recognise the owner. I will have one gary. Mac wont need one, he will be easily recognised by the large Z shaped hole in his back pocket :)
  10. happy birthday mate :)
  11. best of luck rich, sure you will do well :)
  12. I would go with paul on this and say a cylinder leak test (again :)) which I would imagine you could still do as is, but it means you have to get a kit to your house
  13. what condition are the plugs in?
  14. I just dont do the whole upside down monkey in the dash thing very well, Mr Baggins is excellent at it though :)
  15. you wont see much of the valves just by taking off the rocker cover, you really need to take off the head to inspect them properly. Do the cylinder leakage test first, save yourself unnescary work.
  16. done the adjustment for the rod, and its a pig :)

looks good bud, youve come far from the way it looked the last time I saw you :)
  20. welcome mate, car looks to be a blinder. As said above, the best mod you can make is to subscribe, for 20 quid you get thousands of pounds worth of on tap advice. Filter is a good start, if the exhaust is leaking from a gasket, while your sorting it , take the cats off and remove the guts from inside them (there is no requirement for them on a mot for your car) and it will add a similiar amount to your performance (5-10 bhp), then sort yourself out a chip (I may be able to "find" you one ;) for nothing if you subscribe) to sort out your fuelling.
  21. ok, am seeing mr G this morning and the guy this afternoon, if the price seems ok to me I will sort out a dozen hoses
  22. Always bad to hear of someone giving their life in public service. Sorry to hear this mate.
  23. I voted no, and agree in essence with what Dave had to say. The issue is not neccesarily to change the positions held by people, including moderators, but to validate them. I will say at this juncture that there is seems to me to be a "nanny state" situation going on. People are making decisions about what the members should and should not have access to, to the extent that there is a forum to which only certain people have access, and decisions are being made about which the members of the forum are not being consulted. Whilst the forum was under "sole ownership" that is one thing, but the forum is now owned by a lot of people and I personally find someone telling me that I "dont need to know as the people with more information have made the decision" both patronising and insulting.
  24. I went on a bike awareness day today organised by the local police, started at 7 am, pissing with rain and looking well moody. By the time the classroom stuff had been done, 9am, sun splitting the trees, out on my Firestorm with a bike cop following me for 6 hours giving it the absolute berries, had to fill up twice while I was out, what a blinding day. The "rules of engagement" were that 30/40/50 limits had to be observed (which I tend to do anyway, Honestly ;)) but the rest of the day it was more "playful" took me a bit of time to trust in the fact that it wasnt a setup and the guy wasnt going to nick me, and the look on some motorists faces, me blasting by on an open piped 1000cc v-twin, closely followed by a fully liveried bike cop, must have looked like one of those chase videos :):):) :hyper:
