  1. Sounds like the voice of experience .lol
  2. I got a set also mate, but thanks for the offer. Sorry that you got let down.
  3. Quite possibly the choice of words "shareholder" was ill advised, I was simply trying to say that I feel we all have an investment in the forum whether that be time, money or whatever and are all interested inthe well being of the forum, it is, amongst other things, a fantastic resource and a great bunch of guys who seem to have more in common than simply driving the same car. But if we are not allowed to voice opinions other than the commonly held, then the forum will become stagnant, rather than the vibrant and entertaining place it was when I first joined. You only need to read through a selection of posts to see that.
  4. Mac, I have never had an issue with the 20 quid, have always said it is a pittance to keep this forum going. I have sold bits off my car, there for everyone to see (but as it was my car, not strictly making any money out of the club) but I am glad it was here for me to use.And personally I like to think that everyone who got stuff off my car, got a benefit of being a member here, as if I was selling it else where then most, if not all, the parts would have been a damn site more expensive. So I think that I do contribute to the club spirit, in that, and in the help and advice that I give openly and freeely in as far as I am able, and thanks to this club and the people in it that ability is on the increase. But, there were issues with the club, and I voiced my concern. As you and I have discussed, there is no point bleating about an issue, you go to the source and you get it sorted, less bad feeling all round.
  5. Not to mention all the people that go out and pour what is basically a poison down there neck, that ruins their motor control, dehydrates them, removes their inhibitions then gives them a banging headeache. I accept that I am addicted to fags, not as bad as some, as I can quite happily sit for eight hours in an office and not have one. If I got to the stage that some people do (not going on a long haul flight without nicotine patches...WTF?) I would consider it a problem, but smoking does not adversly affect my life. I dont do aerobic excercise, never have, so even if I didnt smoke I probably wouldnt be doing marathons or the bike ride. If it got to the state it was affecting my life, I would do something about it. But, and whether this is a satisfying of a chemical craving (re chocolate, alcohol, dope, working out (adrenalin)etc) I do enjoy it. What bugs me is people going on as if smoking is the only thing that will kill you, or even give you cancer or all the other things they drag out. There are peopl out there who have cancer, smelly breath, unpleasant odour about them and who are unfit who have never smoked in their life :)
  6. That'll be me going on about this "shareholder crap" then. Or maybe not as I certainly dont rank as having made "a few quid out of this place" Strangely enough, I didnt suggest anyone step down, or imply that mark wasn't doing a sterling job, I asked for the same thing that Tim is asking for, information on the club, clarity on what is going on. And the reason I havent since posted on it? because its been happening! We got a statement on the clubs stance on traders we have members of the commitee being voted in if a post is edited we get told by whom and for what reason and we are told that a statement of accounts is due Dont think any of the above is far removed from "a clear and defined approach as to who does what and why!" I have been totally upfront with any comments I have made, never said anything off forum that wasnt said on , or in person to the person concerned.
  7. Oh my giddy aunt
  8. they should go in with the spoiler fitted. There is a lip on the edge that goes under the spoiler, put that in first, add a little persuasion, 10 mins at gasmark 5. Make sure they are in the right position before adding the persuasioon ;)
  9. Smoke doesnt clog up your arteries, it damages the lining of the arteries so that the fat can stick to the walls. Yes the smoke does damage, but the fat is what does the blocking. Wouldnt like to say bud, you'd probably need to ask someone you still talk to
  10. got news for you, we are all dying, and being fat will kill you just as quick. You know that advert where they squeeze all that fat out of a smokers arteries??? where do you think all that comes from, cos theres no fat in fags.FACT!!! And I'd rather be a smoker and enjoy my life than be one of the miserable tw@ts who gives em up, never met an ex smoker who is not as miserable as fook
  11. go with mark on this, definately should be able to select all gears, no clutch required. Is it possible that someone has given the selector rod a knock and bent the gate?
  12. have a great time mate, hope it matches your expectations :)
  13. I could be wrong but think the reason that football was banned (and still is) is trhat it was played at universities in teams of up to 150 a side and they realised that too many of the budding young doctors/ lawyers etc were getting hurt. So it seems its always been a game for p00fs .lol
  14. I wouldnt kick up a fuss until you see how they are going to act on the firearms thing, no point rocking the boat at this stage
  15. the only other issue is if the co2 was of the type that uses the gas and pellet in the one "cartridge" as these are now banned, cos some silly muppet made the "cartridge" the same size as a 9mm cartridge. As said above, they are over re-acting to everything gun related at the mo (understandably) need to be careful who you let run around your house bud
  16. apparently I look like eddie murphy and rutger huer, WTF????
  17. congrats. I loved cuba as well, would similiarly recommend it.
  18. just mt 2p, but i think it would be unfair to do this at billing as you are then restricting the access of members who for whatever reason cant attend
  19. Further to the above have just gone and read the "rules", and can find nothing in them to say that a member cant offer this service to others and considering that 22 (including james who later withdrew) members took advantage of this offer, and at least one I know of wished he had, and the fact that two of those members are current members of the commitee, I think any vote on the subject might go badly for you. I also think that, as the post has been running for over 10 days, its a little suspicious that it only becomes a problem after something is posted that you might take offence to
  20. Does this mean that if a member does an order to courtesy then he is not allowed to order for other members and thus posibly share the postal costs?? I was under the impression that we were here to help each other?? As andy Z supplies second hand parts, does that mean that I shouldnt have sold the parts of my NA, or indeed the parts that you sold Stu?
  21. Got to agree paul ( for once :)) I knew a fair bit about cars, but nothing about zeds when I bought the NA, learned a lot working on that, and now have learned a lot about the TT. No better feeling than rebuilding something and firing it up for the first time :) And while I am waffling many thanks to the people including Ryan who have helped me out over the last few months.

hello mate, have done a few of these and they generally are pigs to get on and off in my experience. You can undo the bolt on the front of the pulley and take the pulley off with the belt, but you run the risk of damaging the pulley. there is a small crown on the back face of the pulley around the spindle hole, which may crack. In my honest opinion, the belt is too small for the fitment, I would source a slightly longer belt and cut the old one off . HTH
  23. You make that sound like a lot
  24. no mate, I have forged in mine, they came out of a car I am doing some work on. Surprisingly enough there was little more than surface scratches to the bores. The car was fitted with boost jets (0.8 I believe), but the chip that was fitted was a "Superchip". Nuff said.

best way to do it, in my honest opinion, is to get yourself a set of uk clocks (try andyZ) and get the speed restriction removed off the ecu. There have been a few cases, myself included, of the speed convertors failing and causing a few problems.
