Missing ??
There may be, do a search on ptu and see what comes up. But I think that they tend to break down when hot, at least initially, so you would need to recreate the situation.

MPH Speedo Conversion
I had a converter on my NA, which failed and cause the rev limter to drop back in, and the power steering to fail intermittently, to cure it I did the resistor change on the clocks (but got clumsy with putting the needle back on and broke it, ended up buying a set of uk clocks (which took care of the conversion) and getting the speed limit and rev limit moved on the ecu. Third way is best imho.

Has anyone here ever broken a Z on their driveway.
yes mate, I broke mine on the driveway (mrs jock loved all that :)) I phoned round and got a guy with a flatbed transit, he picked it up for nothing, if you leave the wheels etc on it, you can get it removed by the local council (or the local toerags if you live in london :)) Carpfisher, I still have some bits for you mate, but have lost your number.

going from bad to worse
cant advise on the chasis legs mate, but reading your post and to find a supposedly competent proffesional saying "u wanna look at selling this one mate" just worries me. Dont fix it or scrap it, sell it on to some poor muppet who doesnt know any better. FFS.

Has this happened to your Zed? It did mine!
I use the "lump of cheese" available form harrys for about 15 quid. Use them to get the car far enough off the floor to get a trolley underneath, the use the proper jacking points to lift the car. Wouldnt ever put a trolley jack on the sill

brake light
There arent brake wear sensors on the zed (on the pads I presume you mean), how topped up is your fluid? is it possible that it is low enough to drop below the low level when you put your foot on the brake? This could happen if your pads are very low. The othe roption is your handbrake switch, but this would happen all the time, not just when you are braking.

bled it over and over stu, there was no circulation in the system, tho the pump was spinning, I had thought there was a blockage in the rad, and the above seems to prove it

Radiator
I have been having problems with my rad, one side hot, the other freezing. Like most people had considered either a new standard rad, or an uprated one. However, was out doing a bit today and found some kitchen descaler in the garage. What the hell, methinks, in she goes, done 12 sachets in there as one is meant to do a standard kettle, and started her up. Now the temp guage normally sits bang on 80 degrees, no matter what, after five minutes of running, it shoots straight up to 100 and starts flashing a warning, so I take off the cap (carefully!) and she is well low on water, fill her up to the top and let her run on. The guage settled at 75 dgrees, and for the first time ever on this car, when I lifetd the rad cap again , there was pressure inside (the cap side was the one that was cold). Can only imagine that the descaler removed a fairly large blockage, allowing water into an are that previously didnt have (enough) water in it, and allowed a free flow of water thru the rad. Comments?

The problem with this board.....?
The strange thing about Mycroft is that he wasnt your usual "My 1000bhp Nova" muppet, if you read his posts he actually took time to think through his answers. He did do some tech posts which showed an in depth knowledge as well.
